They put speed limiters on trucks and I'm done. I usually go 68 mph, but I NEED the ability to speed up to get around dangerous, careless, inattentive drivers, or to simply pass another truck in a timely manner without plugging up the entire interstate.

i agree, i do the posted speed limits, and it does annoy me when those that cant do them get in the hammer lane and equalize/ slow down and cause mile long back ups or 4wheelers to start weaving in between us all causing a dangerous situation. tho other thing ia those that seem to get scared to pass another rig as soon as they have started to pass.

You have to factor all the bull shit in. Just because it shows you make 2500 on a load, you need to facter all the other bull shit in like license tolls .it all ads up in the end

There is a big difference between a 4000 lb car ,and a75000 lb + truck with automatic brake activation. As far as the speed limiters, I get tailgated enough sitting in the right lane going 70mph, I can’t imagine what fun we are going to have, when everyone is running the same speed. And since we are opening up pandora’s box, when is the government going to do something about all these drivers who are driving around with out a CDL issued here in the country, and no proper training on the rules and regulations of the USA

Speed limiter, bad idea. Most of the problem is unqualified drivers that have no patience. Auto brakes, bad idea. If drivers would pay attention and look beyond the hood might make a difference. I have only been driving since 1976 and have seen trucking go into the toilet. Elogs and 14 hr rule created the parking problem, also drivers trashing where the park. IMO.

Closest I've ever came to hitting someone is with a truck equipped with auto braking. Trucks going slower only increases fatigue and is an overreach that will not help safety when the majority of people we share the highway with barely have to take a test to get a license and cause a majority of the accidents on the roads.

This is what EVERY truck driver needs to start spreading, both on the internet and also to their 'representatives' (yeah, I know...representatives representing nothing but themselves):
Mandating speed limiters on trucks may sound safe, but it endangers everyone by creating deadly speed differentials. Limited trucks become bottlenecks, forcing faster vehicles into risky maneuvers and increasing crash risks. The NHTSA proves that uniform traffic flow saves lives, yet speed limiters disrupt this balance. Meanwhile, self-indulgent bureaucrats, blissfully unaware of real-world impacts, impose ‘laws’ without constitutional mandate or practical knowledge. These office-bound policymakers push legislation to grandstand on safety while disregarding the chaos they create on highways. Safety shouldn't mean slower-it means smarter. Let's prioritize training, adaptive tech, and sensible regulation over clueless, headline-chasing directives.

Speed limiters has been in question for the last three administrations and next year we probably will get the regulation put into law. All these companies closing and neither candidates have mentioned them . The best thing we can have happen is regulation cuts and we know which party will do that

BT- 62mph (Dedicated Fleet- 65mph), Schneider- 55/ 60mph, Swift- 55mph, JB Hunt- 55mph and MS Carriers- 60mph. TBH, you’ll be taking another portion of revenue from these local counties by implementing that, so good luck.😂😂😂

The Automatic breaking system happens alot on accident goin thru construction or goin up mountains and it picks up on the overhead signs or bridges because the trucks on an angle or goin around curves on mountains,, and let's be honest. If this takes place in inclement weather snow frozen roads black ice even rain in some instances, and in traffic this can cause serious tragic catastrophic failure to maintain control of the truck causing potential high numbers of deaths and or life altering injury, even if someone cuts you off to close to your front bumper with the break slam sensor on any slick surface a skid and or jacknife could occur, it's defiantly worth further scrutiny and worth further investigative conversation by those to whom have influence over such matters

Hits off to the guys trying to survive through it but something has got to give when it takes 2 dollars per mile just to move an empty truck with a hired driver those rates ain't gonna cut it. Not everyone out here will drive a plastic truck full of a bunch of useless so called safety electronics. Trump has been the President before. Can you give us a list of what he actually did for truck drivers other than take photo op’s. We were forced to start using the ELD’S. and new hours of service during his presidency. Oh yeah he redid NAFTA, but did nothing to stop trucks from Mexico or Canada from driving in the US and taking loads away from American truck driver. How did that help American truck drivers? So now give me that list of all the good things he did for truck drivers. Neither party does anything good for truck drivers and that why the trucking industry is in the all time low its in.

And who is going to pay for all this expenses again?…the little trucker….from those ridiculous rates.
In CT for example, the State imposed per loaded mile fee….even today, small carriers can’t recover the high toll cost…so the little guy always pays for the Communist guys all the bills.

First regulation, get rid of the ELDs, that's the cause of speeders,
Second regulation, stop flooding the trucking industry with more regulations.
Third regulation until these BS regulations keep going on, the trucking industry will continue to lose many drivers.
The forth regulation, stop adding more BS technology in these trucks that don't work and always break down LIKE DEF BS.
The fifth regulation is stop hiring fruit cakes that haven't grown a brain yet.
THE sixth regulation is Quit because its not worth the BS and stress.

The problem is the fool drivers that need to lose their license not just ticketed. Hyper speeding in construction and tailgating are grounds for loss of license.

If these tech autonomous vehicle controls take over speed, lane stability and braking functions I say DOT can no longer hold the driver responsible for how the truck is driven as I am no longer in control of my truck. If anyone is not yet on to what they are doing let me spell it out to you people. The final goal is to get the truck to operate autonomously and only have a monkey like Mercury space missions, except we will be the monkey, only there to have someone to blame for any collisions. After 27 years driving big trucks I don't need a mud covered sensor to keep me from hitting anyone. I'll take an electronic force field to keep cars from running into me though.

Driving one with 65 mph governor, if on cruise can get to 70. Mostly you're stuck behind slow movers. Also has auto brakes , make sure plate isn't blocking sensor it'll brake itself out of nowhere found that on 1st run. Those and side sensors are annoying as a mfr. For cruise it'll adjust speed when coming up on vehicles. Good for those that want to be 5ft at 65 on others tails. That's just bad driving anyways. Don't need more regs I'm sure there's 1000 in the green book as is. Did this guy just say excellent rate 1.76 cross country? Good miles, low rate.
Governing below 70 is more a Hazzard, blocking a lane n can't get over for merging traffic or shoulder issues like tow trucks or pd too well. Auto braking is a issue if you aren't paying attention n shouldn't be driving.
