Wish he would visit Atlanta. I am too broke to visit him anywhere. I have nonprofit. Fear Thou Not. I also tell people about Autoharp Angels. Google it.
Hi John, I love all the music you have created for us. I loved the Lovin Spoonful and I loved your solo work. My favorite song is "The Room Nobody Lives In".
Do you think this an American thing only? Bc my mum trained to be a teacher in the USA and she learned the autoharp, but all my music teachers in Canada, growing up, played either guitar or piano to accompany/teach us. I've never seen a teacher play an autoharp as a result.
@@ErraticConduct I'm a Canadian music teacher, I found some autoharps in my school but haven't yet learned to play them. So I'm sure some teachers taught/played it
Y'all do know this was just a sampler video, right? And that John hasn't looked like that in 30 years. ;) And yes, he did write the theme song for Welcome Back, Kotter.
I had a dream last night............. that my atoharp was in tune and all of the dampers were working correctly and all of the tuners were light as a feather
Does anyone know if this includes any Lovin' Spoonful songs? I can't find any mention of that on Homespun's site, and there's no way to ask on the Amazon page for the DVD.
Well, F# is just inverted C#m7. Think about it like this man, a C#m7 is comprised of C#, E G# and B and the F# 2nd inversion is made up C#, F# and A.... The key of C#m contains the notes F# and A which is 66.66% (SATAN!) of an F# that's why it sounds similar.
I gave this a thumbs up because it was John (by God) Sebastian. More 'n 50 years since Woodstock and he still looks great.
I think it´s an old video. You can see how he looks nowadays in the movie "Echo in the canyon" about the middle ´60´s music.
I'm glad you notice the feel and pace of my answer. JS is a really good Autoharp teacher.
well, i guess i can play the autoharp now
Damn you picked up on it fast Einstein. Now you can move on to violin....
😆🤣😆
Loved you in Woodstock. I wish you had played autoharp for Woodstock. I loved what you played and I am glad you can play other instruments.
i have heard that john lives in woodstock now.

Very useful tutorial. Thank you for putting it on. I already had the DVD and that was very useful too.

I think every Elementary School music teacher had one of these.

@@ErraticConduct I might be one more soon then ahahhaha
I'm a second grade teacher and I soooo want an autoharp...does it count the same? :D
@@ErraticConduct I'm 43 so when I was a mid all the music teachers had these. Nothing with being American or Canadian was stated or hinted at.

I've seen recent pictures of him. He still looks pretty darned good!
Here's a long shot. What's that song he's playing at the start?
looks like an easy instrument to learn

I am try to learn how to play The autoharp and there are not many videos on the autoharp I’m trying to play
hey man..... i bought an autoharp by chord, and cannot find a tuner key for it, any ideas, man
Hi John..did you know Preston Nichols?
Mine is labelled wrong? I tuned it according to how it told me to but "FM" sounds a lot like C#m7 D:

Did you write the Welcome Back Kotter Song?
That was great John but you didn't have to be so nice ;)

That sure taught me how to play. Not!
Get a man's manicure already. This sucked. I am so glad I never bought his package.
Why were you so rude?
