    Some important corrections:
    1. (@KingSam) Capital One Savor One point have statement credit redemptions of 1cpp. Venture Miles have statement credit redemptions of 0.5cpp
    2. (@bitcoinion) Amazon Prime Card cash back can also be redeemed for statement credit or direct deposit at 1cpp.

    I've actually recently mostly changed from the CFU to the CSP for grocery spending due to using Kroger Pay with the CSP as the payment method which causes the transaction to go thru as 'online grocery' rather than regular grocery so I can get the 3x back and it works. I actually learned it from a Chad's Money Minutes video. Great video btw Stan!

    Great content Stan. The Amex BCP definitely fits my use case. We have the Hulu/ESPN/Disney package and this card provides a $7 a month / $84 years credit plus the 6% on streaming so all in that more than covers the annual fee by itself plus throw in the grocery multiplier of 6% up to $6k / $360 and the 3% on gas this card is a winner for me specifically.

    Great breakdown of the different cards that you can use for groceries. As a huge fan of the rotating category cards, I wanted to mention that I can generally get 5% back on groceries for more than just one quarter. Although there was an issue where I wasn’t getting 5% back at Whole Foods initially, Chase said that it should have been included as a 5% back category on the CFF under Amazon this quarter. We usually get 5% back at Walmart in the final quarter of the year so I shift most of my grocery shopping to Walmart that quarter. In the past Discover has had Target as one of the 5% back categories at least one quarter, though I haven’t seen it yet this year (Chase had it in the first quarter), but Discover now has digital wallets as a quarterly category, and you can use digital wallets at Target and at every grocery store that I shop at, so that’s another quarter when I can get 5% back on groceries.

    • @TheCreditFrog
      @TheCreditFrog  11 місяців тому

      That's great that you've found a way to incorporate rotating categories into your grocery shopping. I know for myself, I would find it too cumbersome to keep switching grocery stores to match the 5% category, but as long as it works for you, you can maximize it very nicely! It's always a bummer when the rotating categories also overlap, but like you said, it hasn't happened yet this year. The BEST strategy is definitely the one that works for you! Appreciate the support and glad you enjoyed the video!

      I just use amex blue cash preferred, 6% back grocery. 3% gas. When discovery has the 5% gas I use that for gas.

    Great video Stan, as usual!! I’m a beginner, I wonder for grocieries & gas if the citi custom cash is the better (now) than a sapphire preferred (in the future) when the ultimate goal is to stack points for traveling, or the equivalent of saving money for travel. What are your thoughts? 🙌🏻🙌🏻

    • @TheCreditFrog
      @TheCreditFrog  Місяць тому +1

      If you wanted to target just groceries or just gas, I would go for the Citi Custom Cash since you’ll get the best cash back with that card. As a beginner, it’s also important to prioritize Chase cards due to 5/24 though so I would start getting Chase cards now when you feel comfortable with the Citi Custom Cash!

    • @excitinglife2302

      @@TheCreditFrog you say to get the chase cards after the citi custom cash?

    • @TheCreditFrog
      @TheCreditFrog  Місяць тому +1

      @excitinglife2302 Yes, if you want to target one category like groceries and gas, then get the Citi Custom Cash first, but if you want to start building a Chase setup (trifecta) earlier, that is an option too. Sadly groceries and gas are Chase’s weak point since they are not standard categories (CSP has online groceries) so it depends on if you want to go for UR point earning cards first or just maximize the cash back with the Citi CC

    I have the Savor One, Chase Amazon Prime, Blue Cash Everyday instead of the Preferred, the no annual fee Amex Everyday on your list instead of the Preferred yet again, so I'm pretty much covered on groceries even as of now. I shop more at Walmart SUPERCENTERS, but since I don't shop at traditional supermarkets much, I'm better off with no annual fee options instead of upgrading my Green to Gold for traditional groceries stores and Walmart Neighborhood Market supermarkets. For Walmart supercenters and Target, I would use the Citi Double Cash or the Blue Business Plus. I just got approved for the Citi Custom Cash too, I have the Discover It Cash Back and I know Groceries just passed in the quarterly categories and will get the Freedom Flex down the road when I'm out of 5/24 jail around July of 2024. @@TheCreditFrogYeah I feel the Gold card would be a great addition if you have a huge family or you are constantly going out to eat with clients/friends/etc. Definitely a card I will get in my wallet once I feel it makes sense but as a young single fella hell bent on saving every penny, can’t justify it! Thanks again, just got approved for the AAA daily advantage!

      Yup, you're correct Gray! $10,000 spend at 5% is $500 maximum cash back per calendar year 👍!

    Citi Rewards+ and Custom Cash is overpowered for those of us on team cashback that spend less than $500/month on grocery. Its what I use. Although the Rewards+ prevents some repeat signup bonuses within a 24 month period, for some reason the custom cash isn't on that list, so I am actually working on both their signup bonuses at the same time right now, which the Rewards+ 10% redemption bonus should slightly boost said sign-up bonus too
    The Amex BCE doing 3% Gas and 3% Online shopping means I still have use for it too

      That's awesome! Yeah, I recently was made aware of this Citi Custom Cash / Rewards+ combo, and it's definitely a hard one to beat given how simple it is to use, and can be used for any of the CCC categories - not just groceries so it can be a nice flex category when you need it to be. I also love the BCE and think having that is also a must for any no annual fee cash back setup!

      That's interesting. I just got the CCC for grocery spend. Though I may move categories in a billing cycle from time to time. Getting 5.5% on that spend with the CCC and the Rewards+ is pretty tempting.

      @@TheCreditFrog Do you know if we can get the extra 10% back in points even with the cash back redemption if we have the combo of CCC and Rewards+ ? Or is the 10% bonus only in case of non-cashback redemptions?

    • @TheCreditFrog
      @TheCreditFrog  11 місяців тому

      @@RemGb10 I’m not sure, but since the card earns ThankYou points, you should be able to get 10% points back and then redeem the points for whatever you want.

    I was tempted to go for the AAA Daily Advantage but then happened to read so many horror stories about it and the issuing bank (Comenity) on the doctorofcredit forum that I have put it off at least for a while.

    • @TheCreditFrog
      @TheCreditFrog  11 місяців тому

      I think that's fair. There's a reason why Comenity has a lot of notoriety so it all comes down to how comfortable you feel about it. The good news is that there are lots of other options to choose from so you can get a great multiplier on groceries with another card that's a better fit!

      @@TheCreditFrog - thanks! Also, thanks for showing how I could boost my 5% Citi CC rewards to 5.5% by using the Citi Rewards+ account. I had no idea about that.
