A bop! This song is so good that everyone were convinced that it was Taylor's Vault track. Just like what Mama Swift said, we must take care of the girls who start to make music.

When people think it's a Taylor Swift song, you know it's a banger. I was NOT disappointed. Even though it has TS vibes, it was refreshing to hear. And I'm glad I got to discover another underrated talent ❤️
You know what makes this song special for me? The fact that it's absolutely relatable. I know no one might actually cares, but. Ever since childhood, everybody told me to dream big. Dream big for what? Be a doctor, you'll make a lot of money. Be a lawyer, you'll make a lot of money. Be an engineer, you'll make a lot of money. I wanted to be a zoologist since I was four. Every single kid my age thought it's working in a zoo, and they'd look at me and go: But why would you wanna work in a zoo? No. I wanted to explore. I wanted to be like people I saw in documentaries; Figuring out the million secrets of the world around me. When in highschool, I started studying biology, despite it making it harder for me to get in a good university, people were like: Oh, we're so proud of you! You'll become a doctor and be so successful! I didn't want to become a doctor. I never did. It was never me. I can't be a surgeon, I can't be a doctor, I can't have people's lives in my hands. That's just not me. So I told all those people that they can keep their dreams for me to themselves. I wanted to explore, I wanted to study, not to make money, but to just know. I wanted the text in the books, not the money they might or might not bring me. I dont care about the money. That's just not in me. You wanna call me stupid for it? Fine, have it your way then. Next year, I'm ignoring every vpice telling me I'm making a mistake, and I'll apply for studying genetics. I'm not caught up in a love, I'm not weeping away after a breakup, and I don't have a crush. For once in ever, Im just a girl with her future in front of her, looking all blurry and uncertain, with people telling her left and right that she's doing it wrong. That her dreams are wrong. If you wanna pick up a guitar and be a singer, do it. If you wanna become a writer, do it. If you wanna make sweets as a job, do it. If you dream, make it real. We all only get one single chance to live. Only one. Grasp it. Hold it. It's your life, and no one else's. Well, about time I prove them wrong, no?
I remember when I thought this was a Taylor Swift vault track from 1989. Also, this song gives me this courage to work VERY hard as a UA-camr, singer, songwriter, and actress this next year in 2023. So thank you, Lindsay.
I'm preparing for med school entrance exam and I feel like wasted potential most of the time. I felt called out with every lyric on this song lol. I really love singing and writing songs too and sometimes I feel like I'm wasting time on my piano instead of studying. I dream about being a popular singer-songwriter but I know that's never gonna happen. I really hope I get to be a doctor though! I love this song, your voice is beautiful. It kinda sounds like Taylor's, it's easy to confuse them in the chorus, but really, you've got a very distinctive voice. I hope you reach great places ❤️
i think this hits home for a lot of people and for me taylor’s this is me trying is the gifted kid burnout anthem, and there’s nothing that scares me as much the line “i got wasted like all my potential.” thank you for all the love and effort you put into this song!! i relate to it so much and it’s such a bop
Girl…. This song hit me hard. I’m in my senior year of college to be an English teacher. I had to choose a career that would allow me to get a secure job as soon as I graduate. I don’t come from a family with money, and I’ve had to pay for college myself. In all honesty, my dream has always been to be a writer. I literally dream about. I have stories in my head that have been begging to come out for years. I just don’t have the time or mental energy in my life right now to dedicate to writing an entire novel (even though I want to.) I pray that whenever I graduate within the next year, I will be able to start writing. And if I start, maybe i will one day be able to make a living on my works. I love teaching, but it is not my dream if I’m being honest.
This is exactly the song that I've been needing. I'm 17 and in my junior year of high school now, so I've been thinking about college and careers a lot. It feels like I have three roads that I can take. The first road, the most appealing one, is following my dreams of being a singer-songwriter. That's what I love doing and what I feel like I'm meant to do. The second road, my backup plan, is following in my parents footsteps and becoming an author. I like writing stories, sure, but I'd much rather translate them into songs/albums. The third road and arguably the safest road is going into law, medicine, computer science, etc. Which I really don't want to do. Yeah I'd be nearly guaranteed to have a job and make money, but I'd feel like I was just another average person. I wouldn't be doing anything unique or interesting. I so desperately want to take the first road. I'd actually have fun doing music even if I wasn't the next big star or anything. But if I go down that road I feel like I'd be going against everyone's wishes for me. Plus it'd be a huge risk to take since it could backfire and I could become broke. It's such a hard and scary decision to make. But this song describes these feelings perfectly. It gives me hope and confidence that I can do it. I'll definitely be playing this on repeat.
Apparently, I'm not the only one who thinks this sounds like retro Taylor, seems like the start of a very talented songwriter :) Not to mention this is so relatable, feeling like wasted potential is something I deal with on a daily basis even tho I'm pursuing a "real job", adding this to my playlist!
this song hits different when you're a gifted kid who everyone expects to become a genius doctor or scientist but all you really want to do is become a fantasy writer 🥲
I don't know who leaked your song but it's amazingggggg. I can't imagine there are such melodies in this world omg. I know many come here because of Taylor (this song was thought to belong to her) but your song is loved and replayed because it sounds great, not because of Taylor!!!! Believe me, everyone's gonna replay it again and again!!! Love your song so much!! Love ya!

Couldn't think i would find a song that i relate so much! It resonate with me and my existential crisis in every level. I even cried. Girl, you are amazing. I'm addicted, when I heard this voice I was confused if you were a long lost daughter of Taylor, you deserve the same appreciation Olivia Rodrigo got!! Go GIRL, YOU WILL GET NOTICED BY TAYLOR AND I CAN SEE YOU SITTING RIGHT NEXT TO HER GRAMMY'S ONE DAY!
She could be a doctor, She could be a lawyer this…this hits so hard when you’re a teenager who is just downright confused about career paths and is scared of what the future has in store
I can't play guitar, but bought it two years ago... And currently preparing for med school entrance. Some people say I should try for other courses. Just felt connection to your song.. Live long and happy. Song's superb🥰
Wow. I'll definitely wait for this! As a Swiftie I'm sure you'lol have a great future ahead of you, with that talent. Stay safe and love lots! Your voice I great, hun!
As a senior in college the line “what will she do when the dream doesn’t pan out” hits different 😭 this is amazing, can’t wait to hear more from you!!!
omg guys stop comparing her to Taylor, like I'm a huge Swiftie but let new artists shine without having to link their name to anyone. Like this song is so good, we should be commenting on how good the lyricism is (like it focuses so much on the narrator's tribulations and how they overcome them by believing in themselves instead of the generic love songs nowadays and I think that's awesome!), the production (even though she's an indie artist (i think) she produced such a great song. The arrangement, the instrumentals, AMAZINGGG). And don't get me started on her vocals. Like guys, it's great that we show love to our queen TS, but how can new artists build their own brand in this industry when you make their first debut song about another person? Have some respect smh. And btw, to the artist, Lindsay, you're doing great! I love your music already and I definitely look forward to more of your songs. I can tell that you have what it takes to be big. Take careee!!!
I just pondered upon this video. I somehow get a sense she’s okay that her music is so closely compared to Taylor - so much like Liv this album around. I 100% thought this was a sample of Taylor in the Chorus & I’ve been a fan since I was 9 & I’m now 26. All I’m saying is the artist also need to find their own pace - I doubt she made this craft to sound so close to Taylor - I think it’s natural. Im a singer/songwriter & I often get told it reminds them of Taylor - & I quickly try to make arrangements as I don’t want others to believe i am copying her or being unoriginal. The songs literally just go out that way since Tay is my favorite artist - anyways I just noticed your comment. You seem super encouraging and uplifting and I appreciate that. You really encouraged this young girl here and I’m sure she is thankful if she read your comment. You’re sweet!
This is what Taylor said that our next big female acts are out there playing piano and making music. Thank you, Lindsay! 🤍
@@thegreatidea6796 why are you lying to people? Just say it is an edit of Tis The Damn Season.
Back then she was talking about Billie Eilish sweetheart- but this song is amazing tho

"Built my whole life on being the one out of a million." I love this song so much! This song was so great lyrically and just so relatable.
Agreed. This is a masterpiece.
Hung up like a daydream
Pining just like gatsby
Drowning out the noise cause you'll never really know me.
"red carpet streets they shine so bright, but they won't ever shine for me" one day, Lindsay, one day they will.

the synth sounds in the chorus sound so freaking cool, especially after the build-up in the pre-chorus and it all just kicks in
