  • I finally get the Curtis Cab installed on my 2023 2025R and man do I love it. From being protected from blowing snow, to working comfortably in -20 degrees, the Curtis Cab has been well worth the investment for my tractor!

I've never see a Curtis Cab installation video. I appreciate you putting it together. Looking forward to subscribing and following more of your content. I went to the Transportation Museum in St. Louis last year. Really enjoyed it! Might throw a video together at some point. Got a lot of other content to catch up on. Take care, and have a great 4th! - Samuel

Nice cab! You must be in the Northeast as I noticed United Ag, same here. Any idea on the cab height from the ground? I've been looking at either OTC or Curtis but am concerned about it being able to fit through a 7' garage door. Thanks!
EDIT: I found your location, you're just a stones throw away from me, maybe 30 min! Subscribed!

You SHOULD, if you put the ROPS down. ROPS comes to 94" and this is maybe 12"ish lower than that. Give me a few days and I will try and get a true measurement for you.
I had the OTC/Curtis debate and am glad that I went with the Curits. For the minimal price difference, I think that you are getting a much better product. Additionally, if you ever want to trailer it, you don't need to take the cab off.

@@minutemanmac That would be great, thank you!
My only dilemma (besides fitting in door) is I would really like to remove it in the summer as I mow under low apple trees. Right now I fold the ROPS down and I duck I can squeeze underneath. I've heard about people lifting the whole OTC cab off and hang it, or store it on a pallet. But I agree, the Curtis is a much better product for the money.

Additionally, I had looked at removing the cab possibly in the summer when I was trying to decide between the two so it could clear my Bradford Pears and my plum trees. It can be done just not as easily as the OTC. When I asked the question in the 2025R group on FB back in October for those with the cab and took it off they said it took them about an hour to take a Curtis cab off.
Ultimately I've decided to just leave the cab on and trim the trees to clear.

@Barely Stable Farm Ok got a measurement. For my 2023 2025R with the R3 Radials, it's 84" to the top of the cab.

@@minutemanmac Thanks! Boy, I'll have to measure my door to see if I can get exactly 7' out of it... Will be close. I appreciate you taking the time to do these measurements for me!

Hello! also from the northeast, im in northern maine. Is that the basic cab? I see each option is about 1k difference. are you happy overall with the model you have? lastly where did you get the switch panel? great video!

Yes this is the base model and overall I like it. In the long run is prefer the next up hard doors but I'm going to make my own most likely. Switch panel I got from Amazon.

Had the Advantage Cab installed on my 2025R this past week ... For the money, I'm disappointed. For starters, the doors while metal are not rigid; they flex when opened/closed and do not fit as tight as they should when closed. Thicker sheet metal and/or strategically placed reinforcements should have been included in the design. The door windows are one-piece; they do not have a pane that slides open as did the less-expensive Curtis cabs on my Deere X758 and X585. The doors do not have pneumatic pistons to hold them open, as did the less-expensive Curtis cabs on my Deere X758 and X585. The amount of glass used to provide visibility from inside the cab is unacceptable; I'm constantly struggling to see things around the outside of the tractor while in-use and have been forced into guess-ti-mates based on what I am able to see. There are a couple of other annoyances but I must say, if I had to do it over again, I would not purchase the Advantage cab.

Good to know Richard. I was not aware of how light duty those doors were. I had been looking at building my own as I know the mid range doors I would just beat to crap and rip the vinal real quick for the price.
