Now i know how well I could rely on it if I ran out of ammo and failed to close the distance with a bayonet. I would be bruised from the blunt force trauma but that wouldn't be enough to stop me from closing the last 11 feet.
@@rachdarastrix5251 No if you are able to take multiple rifle rounds to the chest with steel armor on and still make it to the target to be able to bayonet then you are beyond human. Because shooting AR500 plates at 50+ yards with handguns and various rifles is just for show and entertainment and nothing was really learned. People have known they would stop that. Now the Level III AR500 plates would fail at 5-15 yards with M193 and for some reason noone would show that on youtube.... especially when the budget non steel plates were stopping it.

I'm thinking, the slight chance you do live getting shot by a 30-06 without steel armor, would actually be greater than the slight chance you do live getting shot wearing steel armor, because all that steel armor would now be in your chest.
Shot a AR 500 steel plate with 60 rounds of 7,62 ×51 NATO standard ammunition in green tip steel core amor piercing and you got a few pass through, take any bigger ammo in green black or silver tip amor piercing and it will penetrate at every shot the amor, especially black and silver tip, i imagine you get no depleted uranium ammo, also that will be the best case to blow a away such an amor. With a 50 Bmg with depleted uranium ammo, shot in the right spot, you stop a tank.
sadf fdsa look up the specs, the bullets are the same, but a lot of .308/7.62x51 is loaded hotter than the old military .30-06. of course with modern powders and a strong gun, the greater capacity of the .30-06 case allows for much higher velocity loads when fired from a longer barrel. I'm not sure what the military standard loads are for .308, but if i have to guess, the AP 7.62mm NATO will be the same or slightly higher velocity., and i'd expect it's the same bullet put in a .308 case and with a newer powder. why change what ain't broke?
sadf fdsa At least I'd say. For an example Lapua 7,62x51 Nato AP round is 162gr and 2852fps at the muzzle and giving 4163 Joules of energy. My guess is that's pretty standard since Lapua makes rounds for Nato and the FDF at least for sniping purposes. So basically the same but with 100fps or so more velocity.
googIesux FWIW, the standard military .30-06 and .308 loads chart identical velocities with the same bullets. Factory ammo and variations on the standard military stuff is where the larger case capacity of the '06 comes into its own.

1st off, great video! However, quick question. In one of the other videos you did testing the AR500 plate, that plate stopped 8 M2AP rounds, and the only way that armor was defeated was when 2 of those rounds hit in nearly the same spot. So is this AR550 plate actually weaker hence it only took one round straight to the chest to penetrate?
