This is such useful information! Thank you!!! I have been using YTAL a lot just to be safe. I even credit YTAL when its not required just in case, or if i want to use the music again , i can easily find what it was in the info area. BUT i have gotten two 3rd party content claims using youtube audio swap. I promptly switched the song. MUSIC in some cases has become almost as hard as editing. I subbed👍

Everyone, if your on mobile and making videos use “Vlog Star” it’s a video editor, Available on apple and android and comes with hundreds and hundreds of great songs that will not be copy righted guaranteed.
What about viva cut or kinemaster?
Also some of the music in vlog star needs vip access.

Kinemaster rocks! I started with that program before moving to PC programs. Their music is not bad 👍

Hi Dee wanted to know better, i did some reaction videos and didn’t get a claim does that mean I get all my dues on the videos like is it possible that you don’t have a claim now but they claim later on?
very informative video! i recently found those YT channels offering copyright/royalty free music and they seem to good to be true. i'm really bummed out though not being able to use their music😥 anyways, i also got recently copyright claimed for two songs in one of my videos and did just what you mentioned : i contacted audiio (whom i got a lifetime subscription with) to help me clear the claim. here's hoping they have good customer service. 😶

I have used the tubes audio library and am happy with it, I use inshot editor and occasionally use the apps music, is that safe as long as I give credit?

Just making a Taco Cantina review and you pop up, go figure. YT has only 2 Mexican styles of free music offerings in their library BTW. LOL

You mean a finished recorded live stream? You can use the UA-cam app and upload it just like you would a video.

Great info. I use the Windows editor and have been hit a couple times with copyright claims. It's frustrating because you make a video pretty much centered around a song in a free editor then have to change it. Sometimes I replace it with the UA-cam audio library and sometimes I don't even post the video.
I’d steer clear from using their music then.

If you buy a song or image for a video, does it go into a library for continues use or are they time or usage limited.
I have some old videos that i did play music on its from my Twitch streams and of course they got claimed and i dont mind that. My question is can the CLAIM be changed to STRIKE in that same video later on or will the claim remain the claim so i can literally keep them and let them be demonetized since thats fine with me?

This actually happened to me😂,I was using the song "ASTRONAMIA" the supposedly NCS song but it was a "different version" that exactly sound the same as the NCS version,but anyways I changed it and all was resolved.

I had a claim but they cancelled it after review. I was using a Motorola ad’s video (no sound), so it’s slightly different. I was doing a piece on the recent Rzr phone.

I disputed it and submitted a copy of my license and the claim was removed. I was not aware that I should have contacted the vender, though. For future reference, what are the steps to go about that?
That was the right way to go about it since you had your license at hand. However, if the vendor has a faster response time, contact them.

Hey dee is there a number of copyright claims that results into copyright strikes
You can get lots of claims but if you get 3 strikes within a 90 day period you lose the channel.
What about music from IMovie? Or music created on Garage band?
Those should be safe.

how about using music that is not even on the "music policy library" (the music I use is not famous at all, they r just music composed by another UA-camr)?? will UA-cam detect it and give me a strike?
I'm personally going to start making copyright free music myself soon. So how do I let people know they can use my music as long as they leave a link to my song in their description? I want people to feel free to use my music. But with what you said in the video, that will make people not feel safe using my music. So I have no clue what I should do. I just got a copyright claim from a track on videoleap. Im trying to find better answers for their tracks. After a few hours of editing, it's annoying that I need to go in and change the background music.
Early on, I used my own music. But, it wasn’t very good. Hahaha ever since I’ve used AudioHero and Storyblocks for my music. Great piece, Dee.

Most of them are safe, but research them how I showed in the video. Always take a few minutes to do this with audio sources.

I was doing Playthroughs of some video games and I got a claim because the in game audio was an actual song that the developers decided to put in. I’m like I didn’t choose to put that audio in lol I’m not monetized though so it’s fine but still

No. It’s only for UA-cam. If you go with something like Epidemic Sound you can. They ask for all your social accounts to clear you.

I started a little side channel. Called bad editor it's a real small channel barely any videos but I take movie clips and re-attit them to give them funny contacts. And I got a copyright strike not claim strike. For a 7 second video. I had other videos on there that were way longer but that is the one that got the strike
I got a copyright claim on video I linked below. The background music in the part where you see Vader’s helmet installation was claimed by composer John Williams, Disney, etc. resolved through UA-cam by allowing them to reprocess and remove musical track from background.
My rule of thumb is in utilizing clips is usually less than 10 seconds. Doesn’t guarantee no claims, but is usually fairly safe.
Thanks for sharing that. I hear a LOT of people get hit by Disney for using Star Wars sounds and images.
Dee Nimmin one of my Star Wars reaction vids took 13 submission-revisions before I fixed all the claims. Upside to handling inside UA-cam Studio, they actually show you the specific content segment being claimed and give you solutions. Downside is that the AI doesn’t catch everything at once. It catches the first claim violation. So you fix it, reprocess and bam...hit again. That was 72 hrs of a hard learning curve.
Hi hopefully you see this. What about parody videos using karaoke songs you buy? I contacted the karaoke song music company and I asked, they said I could send an email with the list of songs I wanted to use as parody, they mostly approved all except one from MC Hammer. How safe is this? Thanks
If the AI detects the track and can ID it, you can get a claim.
Dee Nimmin but in this case I'd have my receipt of purchase right? I don't really care about monetization. I care about strikes and losing my channel.
Here’s what happens. Let’s say you upload one of these tracks. The AI might not notice if it’s a karaoke version. In that case, you’re probably safe. But if it does, you will get a claim. Maybe even a strike if the original rights holder is striking instead of claiming.
UA-cam doesn’t take sides. So then it’s up to you to dispute the claim with the rights holder. If it’s not the company you have a receipt from, you lose. If it is, they will clear the strike or claim for you.
Claims do not hurt your channel. Strikes do.
Dee Nimmin how do channels that do parody songs exclusively get away with it? What's the trick? I see it all over people making corona parody songs with famous tracks 😞
They risk getting a claim and losing their revenue. A parody might get a pass depending on how close it sounds to the original, but that risk is always there.
