I've really enjoyed seeing the Bogan 32 come together. It's kept me inspired while I've worked through so many unexpected issues with my "Bogan S12" restoration project. Also, I would keep the Crown! The Bippu car is such a nice contrast to the other projects in the shop, and it really looks sweet now with the spacers. Just please pay a professional detailer to deep clean that interior!
If its simply just stuck at 5500 RPM, it's probably an ECU issue with there being more fuel flow than what the ECU is programmed for, so it's limiting how much throttle can be input to avoid damage. That, or somehow those coil packs came with an anti-lag rev limiter for neutral (but that's just a theory, that's stuff you'd program into an ECU).
Link ecu’s have soft limiter options. To me it sounds like it could be around 50% fuel cut at that rpm. I run my limiter at 7,000 with that much cut and it sounds very similar.
Keep the crown it looks mad and just the back story is amazing plus get the interior professionally detailed would be a lot easier and cheaper than selling and re buying Also I didn’t see a flexie joint on the exhaust
@@transient442 that doesn’t mean it’s bad news, that means it had cool history, not everyday you get your hands on a yakuza members car, it’s not like anyone’s going to come after him for it or anything

And it only gets better! My son is headed off to college (a year early with scholarship) for electrical engineering and I couldn't be more proud. Still coming to terms with him going to live in dorms right after his 17th birthday but his future is bright, he's a great kid, just going to miss my baby (my 6'3" 230lb baby)
That's a big baby!! Respectfully of course lol he is a massive guy! He should look into bouncing or security he'd be great for that and he can make some money on the side too!
@Harm Vos I mean even with the new 30e springs, he will find if he wants to make more boost and get more around the stock 20det power mark, it will start to float.
Best way to make the 20e more fun with a snail on the side is to get a new cam to improve the issue with 0 tourqe, and also running a more aggressive diff ratio makes a huuuuge difference too, adding more boost will just add issues
@Harm Vos the rpm issue is probably because its running a stock 20det tune on the link. It probably just needs a remap. Not sure though, I've only ever ran a stock 20det ecu and de head lol
Id be thinking its something ecu, tuning issue. Never heard of coils limiting that way. It sounds electrical like a limit in the tune is cutting revs. 100% I vote to keep that Crown man. It looks so so clean plus you'll be hard pressed to find nicer for less coin.
does the link gets the correct rpm signal? is it set up correct? like if the link is set to a 4 cylinder it will think the rpm is 1,5 times higher then it really is and then it hits the limiter at what zhe exu thinks is roughly 7500 rpm
Glad to see the bogan 32 is coming together I would honestly keep the crown despite the history 😂 and a full detail of the interior would be a nice video to watch and super satisfying
Either bad coils, incorrect dwell time or alternatively your trigger signal has to much noise so when you go up in rpm the noise gets to much and it loses sync this can be fixed by moving the sensor a bit away or adding resistor in your vr+ if you are running an vr sensor
naaaaah dont sell the crown, it has a cool story behind it and looks gangster af. hire someone to deep clean the interior with proper equipment, change the exhaust for shaken then swap it back to the straight pipe and scrape the shit out of it at daikoku like god intended
Lookin good Sammit! Single cam is going to surprise some people. I do see an issue though. The intercooler pipe at the throttle body has a hose going to the valve cover. Totally fine on a NA motor for crankcase ventilation. On a boosted motor that will put positive boost pressure into the crankcase, effects performance, can blow out oil seals causing oil leaks and it's basically a large boost leak. Might want to add a blow off valve as well, I was hearing a lot of compressor surge.
Awesome video as always Sammit. The Bogan 32 is finally done now it's time to rip up the payment of Ebisu Circuit. Can't wait for my order to get here I hope there's a awesome gift with it.
NGL I saw the thumbnail and I was like “Damn, what the Bogan32 doin?!”. Glad to see you making it into a missile. Always fun to see what kind of monster you can create out of an old chassis!
Take a look at your crank trigger setting Sam, see if its on the correct "edge" of the crank pick up tooth. Rising edge being the first edge "up" of the tooth seen by the sensor and falling edge being the "down" edge of the tooth. Alot of times, ignition timing will walk in the higher rpm and cause issue like this. It can sound like break up or a limiter etc. Could be something to check. You can see it walking (retarding or advancing)with a strobe light while revving, and locked ign timing.
Around 2000 we had a ford cosworth with a (then) high Power spark Ignition system. The Electrical system of the car had not enough Voltage to run the pack at high rpms. low and mid everything was ok. tow just would not pick up rpm because the ignition could not produce a spark faster. A new battery and a new voltage regulator for the alternator fixed it.
Keep the Crown as a cruiser/fun daily. Would make a great car to down to the P.As during a filler arch with some under glow or some puddle lights. Honestly a car that I think you should let your creativity for a street build run wild. Who know it could make a fun show car if you ever have the desire (not really a aspect you have explore often on the channel)

Not worked on a RB but had a similar issue with a h22 swap where the fuel pump could not keep up. Was just a case of the old one was down on pressure so a newer one fixed the issue. Would have needed a higher pressure one if I was going higher but the 220 bhp was fine for a daily here XD
Somebody needs to get this man a gimbal for his camera 😅 He went from the Crown to the Bogan and, because it was shaky, when I saw the intake manifold my brain said "When did Sam get a 3-Rotor? 🤔"
I mean selling the crown is a great idea cause the newer ones have so much torque and power and they give even MORE overkill comforts in these like its soooo comfy mann just one downside is that they are hybrid but other than that a great idea to sell it for a newer one!
Could be coilpacks. Or could be a soft limiter. If its in neutral some cars will do it. Try putting it in first gear then put your foot to the floor. If it hits rev limiter then it has a soft limiter. But can be raised.

It could be a soft limiter? Link ecus have them to protect the engine while it’s still cold, or maybe there’s a coolant sensor not reading correctly making the ecu think the engines still cold
I had a s13 do that. Ended up being one switch on the transmission. From my understanding it was making it think it was in 5th gear and hitting a limiter of some kind.

It could be a link preset limmit. Maybe a 2 step or a preset GP limmit. Check the general table to see if anything activates when it’s at 5500
considering the history of your crown, an newer version might be an good idea.
