- Our cost of living for beautiful Vilcabamba! This is based on some info on what we have found and experienced so far renting, and living in the Southern Central Ecuadorian Andes!
Come check it out!
I researched this area. I might move here from Boston.I love Boston but my veterans check doesn’t go far. I need a rest from the craziness. My ptsd is much to handle . Peace I need most
Vilcabamba is pretty laid back. Lots of other retired expat there. Some conspiracy theories too ;). Check out our other videos about vilcabamba.
Beautiful view! Thanks!
Thank you for watching! 😊
Great info, short and sweet ! Thanks
Thank you for watching!
Just found your channel (and subscribed), and really enjoy your content. Thanks. You prioritize on the aesthetics of living, and I like that.
I am in the exploratory phase right now of living elsewhere other than here in the States. While Vilcabamba looks like a lovely place to live, it might be a bit out of the way for my liking. Ecuador, The Philippines, and Montenegro have piqued my interest the most so far. Much to research and much to learn still, but not rushing the process.
Good and yes there is much to learn. Check out our other videos on Ecuador for more of a feel on the country.
@@theinfinitelivingproject7352 I got some catching up to do with all your videos, but will definitely watch them. Thanks for allowing me to tag along in Ecuador. :)
@@foxtrotnow Thank you for watching!

That is incredible !
Any idea how much that amount would increase if you were in Cuenca ?
We are retiring in 6 months, speak Spanish, and have lived abroad before. We LOVE cool weather.
Also, I am assuming you are just paying out of pocket for healthcare ?
Thx….love your videos !
No sure how much it would be in Cuenca, yes we are definitely paying for any healthcare out of pocket! :)
THANKS for sharing..great info .
We love doing it! Thanks for the comment! We'll try and do a cost of living for every place we go.

We're so glad you enjoyed the video. Apologies for the delay, but unfortunately, we don't have the carpenter's contact info anymore. Wishing you the best of luck in finding the perfect person for your shelves and furniture. Enjoy your time in Vilcabamba!

Wow...
Yes, Vilcabamba's affordability is truly remarkable! It's a beautiful place with so much to offer. 😊
Subbed :) How stable is the internet there?
It was pretty stable at least when we were there.
I just subscribe..
Awesome! thanks for watching and the subscribe?
I am coming late November to do a re-con trip for moving early next year, any particular hints on how to find out what kind of longer term rentals are on offer when in town... just walk about and ask around?
We will be coming out with a recap video on out time in Vilcabamba soon. In it we will talk more about what it has been like to live here. But essentially yes, walking around is debatably the best way to find places. Thank you for giving us a watch!
I've been here for 3 months, on facebook join the "Vilcabamba Community" create a post and people with available rentals will flood your comments and inbox
@@nevaeh230 thats cool, but no social media for me! Are there particular cafe type places where i could connect and get info on rentals, low cost? So excited about coming!
Thanks!
This does seem like a really awesome place. However I do have to ask what is it like being there? This is coming from somebody who likes to go to the local Walmart and malls. Also as far as like activities are there places to gather such as singing independent music show or wrestling show. Do you guys have a car and if not what is the bus public transportation like over there. If you wanted to go to a Downtown City what is the cost of that. Is it easy to rent a car for the day?
So many of your questions are answered in other videos we have! But short answer it is nice in Vilca, no big stores just local owned. There are events but no large concerts. A car is unnecessary but can be useful. We ourselves make us of Ecuador robust bus system. Closest "big" city to Vilca is about an hour away.
What about safety?
It is very safe!
i really like your page
Thank you we appreciate it!
Hows the weather and are u still there till date?
The weather in the area is great. We are no longer in Vilcabamba. But we would definitely go back!
Heading to vilca in about 20 days from Olon. Is there a way to privately communicate for tips and contacts to help me and my young family thrive?!
Apologies for the delayed response! How exciting that you've headed to Vilcabamba. We'd be happy to share some tips to help you and your family make the most of your time there. Feel free to ask anything you'd like to know! 😊
I lived there for years. This is definitely a bit low
Well, with Covid going on the business is much slower
Nearest airport?
The nearest international airport is in Guayaquil Ecuador
Hello I am going to this area very soon in a week or two. Would you be able to tell me how I could rent this place please? Thank you very much for your vids.
We don't have the contact info for the landlords anymore. But just ask around and you should find something. Thank you for watching!
I really liked your video, is there anything fun to do out there?
Keep us updated..... I would love to travel abroad like you guy's
Yes! The locals are very welcoming and friendly, and would definitely give you a list of things. They're lots of cool hiking places as well!
Tell Nelson Sameer said Hi. I was in the top right apartment.
Wow small word that is awesome 🤣! It's a great little spot isn't it!
Hmmm appears to gringo priced that apt
Oops! I thought u said you paid 650 for rent! Sorry about that.
@@chechokiko7904 No worries! Thank you for watching!
Is it difficult to find apartments for rent for the price you paid?
In the time and place of the video it seems to be about average. Prices are pretty good right now but assuming tourism picks back up so might prices.
@@theinfinitelivingproject7352 Thanks for the good info! All the best to you.
I dont think my wife will be ok drying cloths on a line.
Well that is to bad, it's better for your clothes and the environment.
