they need to add this truck as a new "mod" for American Truck Simulator, the Duel truck is already modded in but not updated. ATS gamers would love it.
lucky luke1983 Yeah they used two or three Autocars in OTT. One to mount camera rigs on and one for stunt driving and I guess one for just pretty driving shots. One of them is in the movie ‘Tank Girl’ but painted grey and a lot of Mad Max style parts added to it. 😉
@@rowbownerd well nice to know that they weren't just scraped or something after they're use nice to know they were used in multiple films I gases you can say they sort of actors.
@luckyluke 1983 2 were scrapped because nobody asked for them again....1 was left but I don't think it was the complete truck when the person bought it but the person who bought it painted it silver
I'm at the moment making a very accurate representation of the truck, Using the AMT 'Autocar A64b Tractor kit, so far I've watched 'over the top' no less than 50 times now, taking in all the details & differences.
That was some intense stunt driving, but let's be honest: Chuck had plenty of opportunities to slam on the brakes and make a quick subsequent beeline to off-road, easily eluding those assholes
In the movie OVER THE TOP 1987 they used these 3 trucks for different scenes but they never came out together at the same time on screen....in this movie u see them all at once
I just don't understand, why would Rocky Balboa...do that to Charles Bronson, in one of Chuck Norris', trucks....lol...I loved the 80s...fantastic childhood
Late 70s as it still has the round sealed beam headlights, 1980 and on had the square sealed beam, 2 or 4 of them depending on year and trim. 1979 was the last year of the round on GM full size truck platform (Chevy and GMC full size pickups, 2 door Blazer/Jimmy, and Suburban) Hope this helps!
These are the leftover trucks from Over The Top just used in this movie but with different markings plus these were also used in other movies because they belong to the same studio that produced Over The Top.
Oh, I just thought they were connected because the trucks all have the passing side/suicide mud flaps, same color, and the same bull bar. Thanks for the reply.
Given how similar the trucks look, it's entirely possible that the trucks used in Messenger of Death were leftover trucks from Over the Top. The movies were filmed a little over a year apart, according to IMDB, and Over the Top being a higher-budgeted production, they probably had more than one truck portraying the protagonists' truck.

The Autocar has to be the most fierce looking truck of them all.
Just like its cousin the Peterbilt 281/351 like the one from Duel.

Anyone recognize the horn sound from duel 0:39
