- Guitar (basses) of the Day! The Ibanez Bass Workshop is out of control with these. Multiscales with Fishman Fluence (SRMS725), fretless semi-hollows with a 30-fret range (SRD900F), and Steven Di Giorgio's wild ebonol fretboard and 9-piece neck-through signature (SDGB1)? The guitar department needs to take notes.

They’re still not going to trick me into becoming a bass player, though 😛
Not for a lack of effort though
NOT epic!
Bernth just released a short parody video titled "Send this to someone you know who plays bass." Was all in good fun, emulated a bass with a drop pedal and a baritone guitar. Those are some nice basses here though, NGL.
Knowing how to "play" bass guitar like a bass player only helps with guitar playing.
Weird comment
ibanez has been spoiling us bassists
For real
Let's gooooo
So true, I’ve been playing for a while now closing in on 3 years and I’ve never not played an Ibenez. I have an SDGR 5 string rn that plays so well
its awesome
Guitars have gotten love forever. Its bassists turn.
More bass content!
Ibanez made a 30 fret RG a few years ago. It had the classic pickguard look but with no neck pickup and a really long cutaway that you could hook someone around their neck with. We need more like that
Need some more Ormsby love here
Bass for life baby
Every year Ibanez comes out with sick basses is another year of bass playing
Best necks, too
I'm sorry, did you say.... 30 frets?
"30 fret range" on a fretless fingerboard
Ibanez made a model of guitar befire that had 32
They still need to bring the ATK back, especially since Clay Gober plays one every now and again
He got a custom atk last year! Maybe it'll be the new signature bass
I still want an ATK and I don't even play bass
@@OGbrundle BRO imagine a single humbucker, baritone ATK guitar
Agreed. Hopefully with the three bladed pickup like the OG one from the early 90s, not the one with just the humbucker from when they tried to bring the line back years ago.
I have an OG ATK300 that I used back in the early 2010s when I was playing all that scene kid metalcore shit. Asking Alexandria rip-off kind of music. The ATK was MONSTEROUS. I've sold most of my basses and now play six-string in a completely different genre, but I refuse to get rid of my Ibanez.
Also, my DiGiorgio signature model is set to ship two days before my birthday. I am so forking stoked!
I love their fretless basses! I haven’t play his but I recently got the Gary Willis signature 1005 and it’s hands down the best feeling bass I’ve laid my bands on
yo those last two were insane
I gotta say as a person who plays bass in one band and guitar in another project I’m happy to hear a company make more bass options bc they are usually lacking.
I’m an ESP guy but my dad only plays Ibanez basses he’s always dropping like 2k+ on them like where you get that cash from 😭😭
They’re REAL good quality tho
Dad's got good taste. He must be getting some MIJ stuff to be dropping that much cheddar on em, though.
I somehow wound up with nothing but Ibanez basses recently with another shipping mid March. The necks are so damn good.
I love ESP, the Jeff Hannemann sort of basic design. 🙂
@@ronlouthain913shoot I think the MIJ ones are around 5k, I can’t remember where they make the next level down from that but they play amazing as well
I've always felt Ibanez was a bassists-first company. I've always loved their basses from the first time I played a gsr100. These look absolutely sick! Makes wants to buy them allllll
"Maple pupinga panga panga"
Thai people be like "I think that guy goes to my school"
The SDGR line has needed a pickup refresh for ages, as the import Barts they put in were muddy and pretty universally hated. That said, 37"-34" for MS or GTFO! How am I gonna get down to drop F# or D0 on 35.5 without my strings flopping around like a fish outta water 😂
Caveman's gotta chug the caveman ooga booga riffs, my guys .
That Steve Di Giorgio signature is sick, I would love to have one!!!
Can you make a video on kiesel i think it would be really cool to see what type of guitar you would make 🤟🏻
Love my Ibanez bass 😊
as a bass player, ibanez bass through a fender amp has been my go to for years.
same here...fender rumble with 2 Ibanez, 1 Fender and a cheap fretless 5 string Chinese clone....I seem to always go with the Ibanez.
Nice looking instruments!
I would love to have one of the hollow body models, They are such beautiful guitars!
I am the proud owner and player of an Ibanez BTB5 775 with a burl poplar top, Bartolini pickups, neck through, individual string saddles and some sick active EQ electronics that sound freakin' awesome.
(I still miss my Ricky 4003 dual outputs "Rick-o-Sound" that I sold 40 years ago though 😢)
Pricing of Ibanez is out of control, the AZ Premium now at 1500€ without case, paid for mine 1050€ with case!
Absurd!
Idk $700 for my TOD10N feels like a steal. Got it in today and it's been insane.
These really look good.
Stoked
They all look sick, Woukd love those holes on a electric although I rele want the new s770
I'd love a 6 string Multiscale SR
Those are fucking gorgeous
Ibanez makes some of the greatest basses out there love their stuff
As someone who has never even held a bass, it's so fun to hear someone who is so passionate and knowledgable talk about them
Ibanez is one of the only manufacturers to make more than like, 4 basses. I'm glad someone knows we like options
Steve DiGiorgio was in Death my guy
Sweet , good for Ibanez!!
Steve digeorgio is a beast
I'm so tempted to trade my ltd 1005ms for one of those Steve Digiorgio fretless. Thing looks so good and I've been really wanted to pick up a fretless
I just bought an acoustic bass from Ibanez and it is a great instrument
You are right...
Ibanez just has it going...
The prices are up there a bit, but one of their basses will last forever if you take care of it.
Thanks.
What’s the background music?
I LOVE my Ibanez bass
It’s an Ibanez BTB845SC in natural (look it up, it’s an epic Fodera copy)
I’ve never played a guitar that is made as well or is as smooth. I want a 1-1 scaled down spec of that bass, but an octave higher
The trouble with Ibanez...about a decade ago I bought a fixed neck SA series 6 string. It’s a beaut with push/pull pots & cost 700 US.
Fast forward a few years & they flooded the market with ultra cheap versions of most of their entire range & the resale value is zilch...which means no further upgrading. I’m stuck with the SA that I like but really wanna upgrade to a Prestige...no can do!🤔
I had a semi hollow 5 string with frets a few years ago. It was nice! The only complaint I have with some Ibanez basses is that the string spacing is too tight. I like 19mm and a lot of theirs are 17mm. It may not seem like a lot but if you do slap the string can and will rip the skin off of your nails...
Bassists finally getting the respect they deserve!
I have a 34” bass to guitar conversion, tuned to A0 D1 A1 D2 G2 G2.
I think you could do some cool stuff with it. I just installed a SD P-Rail bridge pickup with the triple mount ring, so still super versatile (single coil, P90, or humbuckers)
For sludgy djent I like to quad track; 2 tracks being the humbucker in series, the other 2 humbuckers in parallel. Get that Loathe tone lol
30 frets range, 😱😭🥰
BTB's ❤
I just want an electric guitar with a round profile like their bass guitars.
I began learning to play guitar in 1985 and have spent the whole intervening time resisting Ibanez as a brand for everything (except a couple of effects generators). These new bass models could probably severely just my resistance.
I thought those were cutouts to anchor your thumb while playing finger style😅. Those are some small holes.
Anyone try the IBANEZ GWB35??? What is that one all about? Seems like good value. How is the pickup on the GWB35?
Bassists need this attention;-;
Beautiful ones. Fun that a testament player uses fretless. Is it as main? Nah?
I'm looking for a bass for around 500 CAD. What would you suggest? I'm eyeing for Yamaha trbx 500
you had me at maple bubinga panga panga! That regular ol bingo bongo yoinky sploinky they use for their guitars has nothing on that
Yeah I don't even like to use Ibanez guitars but it's pretty much the only bass I'll use.. they make outstanding bass'
Ibanez are the the only company that realise bassists want cool instruments just as much as guitarists
I’m a guitarist, but man these make me want to pick up bass 😂
This is why I haven’t brought a new Ibanez guitar as they’ll end up releasing in the near future some insane models to compensate
Luthier here. Just so you know. Ebonol is not actually wood. Its a composite material that looks really really close. Makes sense for fretless since itll hold up to wear over time alot better than most wood will. Not tryna be the redditor ACKSHUALLY guy. Just thought itd be a useful note for future reference.
I’m getting one of those chameleon basses just to look at!
Chris Garza is a solid guy, hating on him is weak.
I have a feeling the soundholes don't do sh!t for the actual sound, but they do collect dust and humidity 😊
I plsy a Ibanez , I still like my BC Rich Warlock and my my EPIPHONE SPECIAL Is my favorite I dont think you can buy me anyt but mayhbe s new bass guitar.
How does fretless even work i dont understand
Tapangaga neck what?
Baritone it Fishboi
I just wish the head stocks weren’t so ugly
Basses are just cooler in general 😛
the ibanez basses always have the best designs. guitar players like more traditional style guitars, they just wouldn't sell well enough to make outlandish styles for their guitars, even though i would love it.
Yeah, I know! The scale lengths for the SRMS still suck. Why Ibanez? BTBs are doing good though.
Finally…..a lil respect. You like how that bootie moves? Your welcome.
Machine gun Kelly signature pickups. Classic
I always liked the Ibanez basses better than Ibanez guitars
All I want from Ibanez is a single bridge pickup, 6 string AZ model, in a natural or solid fender inspired finished and black pickguard. Like the LACS one the guy in Knocked Loose has. I know, not a bass, but every time I see ibanez I just think about their wasted potential. I'm sick of the guady over the top finishes. They need to dial it back a bit.
Time to switch to bass I guess
Guitarists are way more traditionalists than bass players. Strats and teles are the main instruments still today.
You won’t believe how many bass players will look bad at you if you get caught using a pick or (God forbid) more than 4 strings.
They’re the reason brands like Gibson are still alive.
BRING BACK THE ELECTRIC TALMANS PLEASE
Why does he look like Miguel Diaz
I that
I'm sure they're trying to be a bass brand rather than a guitar brand at this point
To really said “🤓” about a bass guitar
My uncle Cliff said "how dah heel u say dat lil boyah name ragufish aquafish ajewfish" 😂😂😂😂...... I said wtf 😂he's from southern Mississippi so he's got a real thick accent and he don't know you are a grown man I'm 35 and he thinks I'm 19 drinks alot of miller lite to so yeah 😂😂
Lol my mom grew up in Mississippi and I’m pretty sure we’ve had the exact same convo as you and your uncle 😂
It just sucks that they've only been doing s style basses
To use an ebonal fretboard on a bass that has such a killer wood choice in the body is just strange to me. Ibanez is weird lol
Definitely wish they would up their guitar game. Basses look way more sick than the guitars this year
Not a brand guy.Ibanez gets it done without having to break the piggy bank.Back in the day you got cheap if you payed cheap.I trip out when people cry about their gear.Get better to sound better.
Yeah, but I'll stick to my 15 year-old GSR200, thanks.
Of course drops the Henson sig at the last second because nobody cares about any other new Ibanez 6
Cuz bass better
For some reason i am not pleased whit ibanez design on their super strat guitar design. Feels kinda boring tho compared to LTD. And as an LH player am only locked to one ltd model cus ltd only have one model and its expensive. But i think its also worth it
All these basses and I bet none of them are left-handed
Guitar side is too busy pumping out another 20 uninspired signature guitars.
They're missing some innovative metal players the last few years to bring new vibes to their guitars.
Nice materials, and Ibanez makes great instruments, but aesthetically they are often just ridiculous.
I'm gonna say it. Ibanez's SR and BTB body shapes are boring. Like, they're either all round and bulbous or they're sharp and pointy but either way they just end up looking like some kid's first bass. There's no pizazz to the silhouette at all! Even the coolest finishes and hardware and pickup configs don't help, either. It's weird. I will say that they're made well, they sound good, and they're affordable.
yet they're all active and have too many knobs 🙃
Fretless? Lol why. You like things being harder to do lol.
The guitars don’t take after the basses because the basses look horrible lol
theyre just doing shit at this point lmao
There’s NO WAY Bubinga/Panga panga is a real thing, those are made up words
