In a sense that is obvious. But if you don't believe then you don't believe and you cannot 'force' the belief. You either believe, or you dont & I don't
I agree. We don’t choose our beliefs… we can’t choose to find something compelling… we’re either convinced, or we are not convinced, that something is true. I’m with you - I’m not convinced.
@briley2177 I sometimes envy Christians because you can see how happy they are (at least some of them) but ultimately it's a matter of faith and not based on evidence and my brain follows the evidence. I could never fully embrace something without proof
Do you care more about the truth of your beliefs or the utility of your beliefs? The fact that you are joyful doesn’t mean that your causal attribution - specifically, that “god is the source of that joy” - is ACTUALLY a true claim. Can you demonstrate a causal connection between the joy and an actual extant god… or just between the joy you feel and your BELIEF in god? Because those two things aren’t the same thing.
Why keep doing the same thing while expecting a different result? Obviously, “trying to be happy,” “praying every day,” and “reading the Bible everyday,” isn’t working. Why not try and find happiness through purpose, stop praying everyday, and read something that broadens your intellectual horizons everyday… at least for a while. Try something other than what you’ve already been doing.
That's what I've been praying for lately. I'm a Catholic and I want/need joy. Peace and joy. ❤ 🙏
Pray the rosary!

Keep telling yourself that! 😂😂
Believe it or not, you’re really missing out. But we’re always praying for you and you’re always welcome. Love you, kisses 🥰🥰🥰

Is that a quote from Mandalorian??? This is legendary! 😂👏🥳
i have never thought this
How do I get this joyful? I try but I can never be happy. I pray to God everyday and I try to read my bible everyday.
