I’ve been watching your channel for the last hour. Good stuff bud. Caught a bluegill the other day on a fly I tied myself. First fish on my own fly, so rewarding. New subscriber now.
Quick tip. Use the largest fly that they will hit, otherwise you will be digging a lot of flies out of deeply hooked bluegills I go no smaller than a size 10 and crush the barb. Saves flies too...
Additional tip: tie your own flies, and use barbless hooks. It allows you to have different boxes dedicated to whatever fish you're targeting that day. Label them so you can grab and go quick
Thank you very much! This was a Moonshine Revival 3wt rod. Believe it or not it is actually fiberglass, but it is smooth like a bamboo rod. Thanks for watching!
I am standing in it comfortably. It is the Old Town Saranac 146. I'm 6ft and 170 lbs and the canoe feels stable with me doing that. I've been using it like this for about 6 years. Good luck and tight lines!
I also have a used 16' ft. Old town canoe and stand up paddling it and casting in it ....best $180 bucks I ever spent . Caught so many fish out of it from Texas to Tahoe and in-between.
You have no concept of the meaning "playing the fish". That one fish you thought was under a log may have been a giant and you winched the hell out of it and now we will never know.

@Kiss The Fish moonshine is nice and your welcome..
I swear, fishing a parachute Adams for bluegill is almost like cheating. They'll hit that all day every day.
It's so much fun but it really is like cheating! Absolutely love the parachute Adams
Are you standing in that canoe/boat? If so, what boat is it and how is it stability wise when you do stand?

Worth every penny! And $180 for an Old Town is amazing! Awesome deal!
So fun
@@robertking5996 absolutely
Are you standing on that canoe? What is it?
What’s your approach if your fishing 30-50ft water ?
To be honest there's not to many places that I personally fish deeper than 10 to 12 feet so it would be a total learning experience for me!
Nice bro
Thanks man! It was a great day
Maybe tell us what fly you're using and even show it to us.
