I use crank baits and worms for trout. I actually like to catch trout not glam on the river trout-less, like an LL Bean model, but the easiest way to turn a slow day into a fun day is to break out the fly rod for sunfish. What they lack in size they make up for in aggression and quantity. Cannot beat a fly rod in spring and early summer for bream. I usually do best with a black or yellow caterpillar or a popper.
Been fly fishing since mid 80s .
Never caught a trout on a fly . But wear bluegill OUT ! Love catchin em on a fly rod ❤

I totally agree and absolutely love the sizes and styles that The Fly Crate offer for sale at a phenomenal price as well!
What size hook is on that wooly bugger? Thanks for the tips!
No answer yet? I'm interested too, what is the size of that fly?
For bluegill flies I use a lot of 10 and 8 hooks... In the event that the OP does not answer...
So is it wooly booger or wooly bugger. I've always heard wooly booger
