- Célèbre groupe américain de jazz rock formé à Buffalo, dans l'Etat de New York, au cours des années 70, Spyro Gyra a connu dès cette époque un grand succès aux Etats Unis et aussi en Europe. Il s'est notamment produit à la Grande Parade de Nice dans les années 80 et a connu, au cours de son histoire, de nombreux changements de personnel. De la formation d'origine subsistent, à l'heure actuelle, le saxophoniste Jay Beckenstein et le pianiste Tom Schuman. Précurseur du smooth jazz, Spyro Gyra mêle rock, funk, pop et R' n'B en y ajoutant une touche caribéenne qui est sa marque propre. Une abondante discographie (quelques 25 albums, dix millions d'exemplaires vendus), plusieurs Grammy Awards dans diverses catégories, le groupe ne cesse d'enregistrer et de tourner dans le monde entier.

My husband getting his gospel music off the ground. Him and his friend write music and sing of course. They are waiting on a piano player or keyboard and a band like old school band like average white band Tower of power Santana earth wind and fire oh war. Linda Ronstadt was Latino she had to change her name. She is good singer. My husband has an ear for music. My husband friend wrote a song for the Jackson's he also sings he did a song taking care of business but in gospel its nice he used Kenny Rogers band. Awesome.

Some times the pros even screw up. Coming back in after the syncopated drum segment, no one including Jay Beckenstein seemed to know where the down beat was; but great recovery nonetheless.
Shows you this is real, sometimes putting the train back on the track is the brilliant part. Love this band, I have many of their records.
I hope Marcus Miller is listening to this bass line..Scotty A, beam me up!... What pisses me off is that he makes it look so damn easy,, how's his fingers not bleeding?

Scott IS a bad man... I remember him from back in the day in DC when he played with Marshall Keys at Takoma Station and that Monster show they did at the ROXY. That show put them all on the map. I'm guessing that's where Spyro Gyra may have saw him and snatched him up. Awesome and very nice cat as well.

Derfunkmeister his own make Ambush V custom: "As far as basses are concerned, I hand-build my basses myself. I do everything from design to construction to wiring to finishing. In the past, I’ve used composite necks that were custom molded for me by Moses Graphite Products. I carved the original plug and a mold was taken from that.I’ve used Bartolini pickups and preamps predominantly, with Hipshot hardware. On my most recent basses I’ve switched to making the necks myself, integrating maple and carbon fiber in a five-piece laminated configuration. My present bass has a maple burl top over swamp ash. I’ve also switched to Babicz Full Contact bridges. They’re awesome! They incorporate a cam system inside a saddle to adjust string height. This allows the entire saddle to make contact with the bridge plate, rather than with just two height adjustment screws. It really makes a difference. Also, this bass has Nordstrand Big Splits under custom covers, with a John East preamp."
