That's the way I check my oil level. Thanks for all the great videos. I'm sure you helped many new riders.

I'm surprised it wasn't spelled out clearly in the owner's manual. Appreciate that you did the leg work to get a definitive answer. Off topic but I saw one of Jerry Hawks videos recently where Lifan sent out a module that he plugged into his KPX 250 to update the ECM. Pretty cool. Sometimes it's tough being an analog old timer like me in a digital world. 😁😅😂🙃 Thanks for all the great videos !

@@rickrogers2649 The owners manual is pretty clear, a little bit of gray area that needed clarification though. Yeah I know what you mean, everything you do anymore has electronics in it. I have to change out my daughter’s hot water heater tonight and it’s full of electronics. What happened to simple 😂 Your welcome!

Thank you for making this video. It was helpful. Much appreciated. My KPX is put away with a battery tender on it until spring. The nice weather can not come soon enough. lol. All the best Herbie. Cheers.

Your welcome, man don't you hate looking at it and not being able to ride until spring, that drives me crazy but this year I'm leaving my KPX unwinterized just in case I have a good day here or there to ride. Thanks my friend!

@herbiesgarage681 it certainly does drive me crazy. Lol. I'm in central Minnesota. I enjoy seeing your kpx250 as much as me looking at mine. It's cool to have a guy who appreciates how nice they really are. Like myself. They are an excellent motorcycle. It's a great dual sport bike. They are so new that nobody really knows of them. Then, of course, the Japanese bike people who trash them. Yet, never rode one or saw one in person. It comes with the territory of liking a nice Chinese bike. Which is better in many ways for 1/3 the price. And nothing to complain about, either.

@ yeah it’s a super fun, great quality bike. The 20hp engine seems to do really good in this bike. I think it’s as good looking or better than a lot of the competitors especially for the price. Yeah Illinois probably isn’t as bad as Minnesota for snow and cold but we get our share. Spring will be here before you know it 😁

Happy Friday! I find the dipstick to be hard to read and inaccurate. I go by volume and the oil level viewing window (if available). Have a great weekend! God bless.

@@captcraig777 Happy Friday!! 😁 I agree the sight glass is the best however the dipstick will be accurate if done correctly. What usually throws the reading off is the user doesn’t have the motorcycle level and steady when checking it. Dipstick’s are tried and true which is why automobiles all use them but automobiles are at the right angle fixed from the factory and 4 wheels 😂 Going by volume is good as long as your level is good when you start and measure what you take out and put the same level back in. You have a great weekend as well Capt and God bless, my friend
