🌙 ABOUT ME 🌙
Hi! My name is Alice and I love books! I read just about everything from classics to contemporary fiction, adventures to mysteries, fantasy to all kinds of non-fiction - and I love reviewing and recommending books, and just generally having a chat about literature. I also adore baking, hot chocolate, crafts and basically everything cosy, soft and peaceful. I currently live in Oslo, Norway.

I do love Emily Wildes Encyclopaedia of Faries, I am glad you liked it ❤
I read Irregular Witches earlier this month and I enjoyed it very much. Emily Wilde is on my tbr list. Have a great week💕
I read Irregular Witches months ago and loved it, especially with the surprise of where the woman who runs the house (Lilian Nowhere) has been the whole time Mika was staying there
Hi Alice
These Books sounds really good - I have them written down on my Book List.
I checked out 6 Books from my County Library and they are:
Four Leaf Cleaver by Maddie Day
Death, Diamonds, and Deception by Rosemary Simpson
Poppy Harmon and the Pillow Talk Killer by Lee Hollis
The Key To Deceit by Ashley Weaver
Thin Ice by Paige Shelton
Under The Whispering Door by TJ Klune
Take Care & Happy Reading

It was such a coooozy book chat, thank you! 🍁
There's a way less famous TJ Klune book that I love, and that's The lighting struck heart (first book in the Tales of verania, but it's not one of those sagas where you absolutely need to read all of the books, you could stop at the first one). It's a semi serious take on a epic high fantasy, but believe me it's incredibly hilarious and even though there are some stakes I wouldn't say that it's very tension filled. To me it's just the right amount of nonsensical and fuzzy feelings combined
Consider reading " between two fires" by Christopher Buehlman it's a medieval Horror story.
When I first heard that Emily Wilde's setting was an "alternative Iceland" I lost all interest in reading it. I feel icky when my country is portrayed as some sort of whimsical fairyland (we don't even have fairies in our folklore). But your descriptions of the story and enthusiastic reccommendation are making me rethink my stance 🤔 I think I might need to get over myself and my fear of cringe 😅
This might not necessarily be classified as a cosy fantasy, but it has cosy, fairytale and adventure elements, so my maybe you'll like it: "The Last Unicorn" by Peter S. Beagle
This was a fun reading vlog. Thank you!
I feel like if you liked Garlic & The Vampire you could potentially like The Skull by Jon Klassen!! also what was the Switch game that stole your life away? hahah
Hahahah it was Fae Farm 😂🖤
alice, would you be interested in reading manga? because there is this series which i would say quite fits into a cosy fantasy genre. it's a contemporary fantasy but still. and it does has darker stories but over all it's quite cosy i'd say. it's called natsume's book of friends. i would really recommend it and i think it's good for smb who hasn't read manga before because it's a fairly easy read. i would even say it's a bit episodic. like there is an over-arching plot, and characters that pop up again and again. but also it has a bit of a case-of-the-week structure. it can be funny and sad, heart-wrenching and heart-warming. seeing the characters grow and the main character start accepting this ability he has at seeing the spirits and getting more and more engaged in the world is just precious. i think you would really like it. i know you read graphic novels, and this is fairly similar with the only notable difference being that it's black and white. i would highly highly recommend it to you
I'm loving Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries. I have about a 1/4 left.
Aaaah enjoy!! 🖤
Thank you Alice !it is a beautiful vlog ! Do you know the paper magician series ? It is YA and very atmospherique. See you soon !
I haven’t read it but I want to! 🖤
