I’m also a 275 mondo and I feel very similar.
When I went to the blading cup i thought its gonna be easier to find some cool skates so i left my boots in Chile but once i get to LA it was almost impossible to find anything relative to aggressive skates. Thats why i bought the THEMS 909 and I absolutly love the brand and their products but i think that a lot of skaters in america are using them because its easier to get
The Fastslide was sick! Worth all the tries for sure haha. About the skate sizing, it’s always gonna be hard when Them don’t have a full size range. The “Smedium” shell and more sizing options in general is definitely a good path forward.
They need to review their sales to see what sizes are selling more, and fine tune to those sizes. Majority of reviews seem to be between mondo 27.5 and 28.5.
More skates definitely need a better size range. But without sales to the sizes they don’t sell, it’s all guess work. Maybe polling their customer base would be a good way to get a data set.
I really wanted to love the Thems I tried on at the skate shop. I love the look and the liner felt great but I had so much extra room in the toes of the skate. I hope they make the shmedium but it's looking like I'm going to go with Roces as my first aggressive skate.
Putting an extra insole under the liner helps. I have the intuition liners and had the same problem. I took out the little plastic slip liner and threw in the ridder intuition insoles under the liner.
Yeah. One thing you'll learn is that it's not cheap. But the stuff seems to last for freaking ever. Lol.
Stock there are heel risers to help with big impacts but if you take them out I found my toes feel much more snug.
@@yoshawnsmith3573 the guy at the shop recommended that to me as well but it still didn't feel tight enough compared to the Roces and Razors I tried on.

I had issues with the volume being too high but a little thicker socks and relacing them with a "lace lock" pattern locked them up on my foot way more. You should really try relacing them.
I agree 100% on the soul plates. They have always been difficult to get a hold of since the company started and the pessimist in me feels like it's intentional in order to increase demand and possibly help drive skate sales up. People buy more skates to have more spare parts. I hope that's not the case, but the evidence suggests otherwise.
I also would like to hope it's not the case.. but since the company was made in 2018 on the back of Valo skates, which had a HUGE following... It's hard to say it's not the case
They need to have a size that’s inbetween the small and medium hands down. That’s the size most people would ride. It’s a matter of time the demand is there it has to get done.
I love my mooopi's 909. i'm 28,5cm mondo and have the Size M with the new intuition liner and it fits perfect. no problem to skate 4 hours in the park. but they are heavy. i change frame and buckle but only because of weight. in the end im in love with the 909s
Heya mate! What buckle did you change to? I just got a pair of 909s and love them but the buckle's too small for my thick calves, can't close them. Did you get a longer buckle? Thanks!

I got a 270mm (very wide) foot and the medium is also big for me lengthwise. I was able to try a small and it was way too small. I tried both with the stock liner which is not the best but it is ok. I understand that feet size and comfort is personal and that is ok. My issue with THEM is the same as yours, it's impossible to find parts in Europe. I had to order hardware from their US shop. It was pretty fast but they arrived bent and they had pretty bad customer service in my case. I ended up buying a pair of RB Blanks, those things are amazing!
I’ve never tried an agressive skate but i can agree on your words about the medium boots and all the specs
I hope Them makes a new “Smedium” shell. I’m sure there are many skaters with that sizing problem. My feet are 27cm and I tried Medium V2 intuitions in Small 909 shells and it’s tight. But when I try the Medium shell I need to add Insoles to fill the space and tight them a lot with hockey laces.
The medium is 293mm. I am a 275 and can't cram into the small, but I need three insoles and a heel pad to make the medium tight enough to be usable.

I started skating a little over 2 years ago now and Thems were my first aggressive boot and my second overall. At the time I thought I just sucked at AG but continuously coming back to try it out the 909s just feel off. I live very close to the shop so I often go over to ask questions and such and have come to the judgement that they really are just overpriced, easy to get skates for us American skaters. I really want to like them but the idea that you have to get a smaller boot and a normal fitting liner to get em to feel perfect feels like too much to have to get when they should feel great out of the box

I like Them Skates, especially how they look, and I appreciate what Jon Julio is doing, but the skates are so pricey, and after you mentioned that M shell is large for you probably it would feel larger to me with 270mm feet of mine. Buying the right skates is like a little bit of gambling, and I found out that EU 43-44 m12 is a perfect fit to my feet so I’ll stick to Roces, I think the most important thing to any skate is how it fits, and I really love the classic silhouette of the m12 shell, I hope they will survive of this hard times 🙏
The small shell, either the 908 or 909, with the V4 stock liner is the closest I've had to the perfect fit. I don't like Them with Intuition liners.
A Smedium shell would be amazing, I really hope that's on the cards.
Im in US 8/9 Aeons so I'm tempted to try a small shell. But I agree. Schmedium ftw 😩

@@totoalmada I feel that, I've got 276mm feet and I'm kinda in the same boat, but I do use the Medium 909 just with a super thick Psirus liner. The 908 Medium fits me better (it's about 5mm smaller) but a Smedium THEM would be awesome.
I've seen a few people online with the same size feet saying they can use the small shell, but I don't understand how cuz according to THEM the internal shell size is smaller than 276 🤯
I think THEM skates is an overly priced skate. masking the overpricing with paying their pros a portion of their pro boot sales is nice, but what about ams, what about the normal boots. I think for the Danny beer skate it was like a 25-30 dollars per boot sold. So let's say they sold 1000. He would get, at the top end, 30k for all his boots to be sold. Which sounds nice but compare that to the 500k Them skates would get (470 after paying Danny his cut) is crazy. Like a 6% royalty on boots sold is what Jon is giving and that's too low for the price these boots are going for. And I'm not aware what if any sort of monthly stipend the riders get for being on the team. I hope they get something because a one time pro boot deal isn't going to cut it.

Love Julio for everything that he has done for this sport over the years but the 909 just aint it, why are we still not going with individual sizes, i got it before when he was just getting started it was an easy way to cut the cost of production. but now after all the 909 releases and brain dead collabs still trying to cut costs but charging premium prices is unacceptable. such a shame as the Ridder is such a nice looking boot :/

Any idea if the flexy plastic problem in the heat is resolved by now? Got some ankle injuries in the past and i think i need something supportive coming back to blading. The skates looks amazing! Maybe i should look to mesmer too. I will appreciate your opinions!

I bought the all white ones and have never had skate sizing issues, for some reason these are the only skates that have ever felt too skinny. I am a size 10 US (I think 43 EU) and without a liner my foot touches both sides of the walls of the boot. No matter what I do Tons of pain :(

I’m a true 26.5 but my foot is a bit wide and flat. The small shell is a little snug, with aeon basic liners it’s a lot better, would love to try them with intuition
Regarding the wheels. I'm similar in size to you and I've been skating on Them 58mm 90a wheels for about an hour a day for a week on concrete. I'm skating flat on FLT4 frames. They're wearing down very quickly. What's your favorite long lasting wheel for rough concrete?
$500 for a plastic boot too expensive. For just $125 more I can get an adapt boot that will last longer and is handmade with much better materials

Soul plates being a single piece now seems to mean they justify raising the price to $50-80. Despite their faults, I still appreciate my Razors SL which has $25 soul plates in every color lol.

Not sure where the numbers are coming from for the soul plates being $200…? You only pay import taxes over a certain number and $55 falls well below that number.

that's really interesting, but i was skating the 2022 stock after coming from a sola frame (w dead wheels) and was so surprised how fast this stocksetup was compared....... brainfuck somehow (the negative is their is a bit too much wheel-play even when you tighten the bolts)
think the slowest stock wheels were the valo team wheels, those were horrible haha

after the support i got for the 908's i got right from them with a few issues brand new, i will not buy them again. i like the concept and i wish i could support them but nah. when i had some issues with a brand new pair from the very first run and i bought both color ways sent a few emails, i got zero support back. simply told sorry man you can buy another pair. that may not be the norm but for me it left a bad taste and ive looked elsewhere since. a shame because i do like the skates.
