Anyone else thought he was gonna say testicle when he was checking the recording
That's why I came to the comments... lol
I started using this today, the voice focus. OMG...it's a game changer if you don't like to wear headphones when streaming. Now I can use my speakers instead adn don't have to worry about echo. Love it!!
the production quality of this channel is insane, from the thumbnail, editing its just so high quality, good job man
I think my favorite thing about this update since I don't have windows installed is the rerouting directly in the software! This is such a nice update with everything they have added.
its such a good feature right?
I HATED the old method, 'cause it took forever and was super unreliable.
So this new 1 click routing is an ideal change.
I dont think that I have ever been so excited about wavelink update. So thankful that you made this video, showing the new features. Thank you! Cant wait to see whats next.
Honestly same!!
I liked Wave Link already but it defo had its flaws. Thankfully this update seems to have addressed a lot of the things people have had issues with 🤞
@@ajsarsfield Yeah, you're totally right. I was glad that they addressed the latency issue as well but trying out the new voice focus and streamdeck connection just made me excited again to record my voice. I generally struggle to set up the sound well and this just made it so much easier 🥳
What other Features would you LOVE to see added to Wave Link in the Future?? 🤔
Question is it better to have 1 pc for streaming and gaming or have 2 pc’s 1 for streaming and 1 for gaming
@DigitalSafari24 it honestly depends on THE PC you have and the games you play & how much time/energy you have.
In most cases a single pc setup will be fine, and easier to setup.
But dual PC streaming can be better, because it allows you to have slower encoding presets which = higher quality video
(Great for fast paced games)
And 2 pc setups also mean if your game PC ever crashes your Stream will still be live as its being broadcast from a 2nd machine.
Theres WAY more things to go wrong though, like audio issues or dealing with capture cards and Sync offsets etc.
So it depends how willing you are to deal with the extra effort.
@@ajsarsfield ok thank you I just really want to make sure my streams are the best I can and once I start doing UA-cam videos that those are amazing as well.
id love for them to put back the ability to mute inputs by touching the screen on the stream deck +... im not sure why you cant do it anymore but its pretty awful and very inconvenient to not be able to see which sources are muted [esp as a streamer]. i now have to have physical buttons to be able to see which input is muted which is a waste of space. ive already contacted support
@KJP1226 I'm pretty sure that must be a bug or glitch atm, cause I can still mute all my inputs on my streamdeck touch screen 🤷🏼♂️
Have you updated to the latest streamdeck software too? 🤔
I’ve been using Wave Link now as my primary and it’s been amazing!
And yes I’ve had that horrible audio reset happen a few times!
@@KARR2001 Those damn Resets were the WORST!!
They'd happen randomly Or every time windows did a Tiny update and you had to relink all your channels again 🙃
I love Wave Link but those small issues were frustrating.
@ same. I did all my audio set up the first time and the next day the windows update dropped and destroyed all my work. This new feature will be amazing to use! Can’t wait to update it!
Make sure you're exporting your filter settings to a hard drive (or cloud drive) in case anything catastrophic happens in the future.
Green filter button > add effect > Export effect chain
That has saved me multiple times ^^
This is why I went back to wave link. I love the continuous updates and this made me switch from rode streamer x.
Same!
I've used a GoXLR and a Rodecaster Duo too for my audio but I always had issues with them or the software was missing things I wanted/needed.
Wave Link has been pretty reliable for me over the last year or so & it's nice that it constantly gets things added to it.
@ I do miss the eq settings on the goxlr over the rodecaster duo. The duo had an amazing update for dual pc setup. In which the wave link did not have. But, the use of the wave link is worth it.
So I agree your statement. Team elgato!
routing table would be sick
Hell yeah!!
i used to really like the way it worked on my old Go XLR. it was so easy to visualise what inputs & outputs were being used.
Thank you for this vid much appreciated 👏
No Problem 🔥
Glad the info was helpful 🫡
@ajsarsfield very helpful thanks.
Still learning all this, been having a mare with sound in obs to zoom recently hopefully this update will sort it.
Keep up the good work
Very much appreciated.
Thanks again.
I would love to see the ability to use both the XLR and also the Wave 2.0. When you plug both in it tells you you can only use one of these.. its not like i want to use both at the same time, but having both means i can get a different sound feel, and have them set up differently for different purposes.
Oh!
Do you mean the wave USB microphones?
Yeah
I've been asking the team about this for a while and I don't think it's currently possible to run 2 wave mics at once due to hardware/software limitations..
(Only workaround is to plug/unplug them when needed)
However they know about this and I assume will probably be working on a "dual mic" or multi mic setup in the future..
It Would be great for Podcasts or people who stream together using 1 machine.
I hope this fixes a lot issues ive been having where some channels just dont work. My audio routing is such a mess right now
Love the Update. Do you recommend running Voice Focus together with Elgato Noise Removal, or is Voice Focus enough?
You just need one of them!
I think you might get some weird issues if you try using both at once,
Personally I've been using Voice Focus at about 50% strength on my own mic,
although I did need it closer to 90% to combat the Fan Test in this video 😅
Excellent video as always Nightow1. Testing it out I feel like Voice Focus does a great job of removing background noise as well and wondered if you had the same experience?
YEAH!
The way I showed it in the video is a little bit Over the top for entertainment purposes really..
In most cases, people just need it to remove Keyboard clicks , cars driving by or AC unit sounds etc which its perfect for!
this is how I found out it's out of beta 🥳
Hell yeah!
I've been using the beta for a few months
But it was a little annoying as the Audio meters stopped working on my Stream deck 🤣
Thankfully have 0 issues with the full release though, it's fantastic 🔥
We need Audio ducking!
COULDNT AGREE MORE!!!
I hate having to do annoying "work arounds" to make that feature work using wave link and obs..
i'd rather just have the Elgato software have the ability to do it natively.
*sigh* 🙃
YES! Actually found this video in a search for "ducking on WaveLink microphone fx". Do you have a video on these workarounds that you've been using? Because I really need something for this.
Because sometimes I use Microphone FX to play both my microphone and music or sound effects in Discord voice chats when I collab with other content creators, so that they can hear it as well as my viewers.
I have ducking on OBS so my stream viewers can hear my voice easily with the music, but it doesn't work like that on discord and so I always have to be fiddling with the sound levels depending on the volume of that particular piece of music, so my collaborators can hear me.
the only thing i would want them to add is a way of using the app without a stream deck or wave connected, i use it on my laptop and when i take my laptop out, it breaks the audio cause i don't have the mic with me lol
good features but they took away the visuals of muting and unmuting icon when pressing the dial in. huge loss on that part. this was broken
Have you updated to the latest streamdeck software too?
The mute icon still shows up on my Streamdeck+
When i silence my Microphone 🤔
@@ajsarsfield ill do this right now and come back and let you know
@@ajsarsfield still the same. both steam deck and wave updated but the visuals are broken on the stream deck +, microphone is discord so that shows but the other audio devices muting and unmuting does not work visually on the stream deck + long touch screen wise above the dials.
@@ajsarsfield Found the FIX!!!
you have to go into stream deck software and update the wavelink plugin too!!! that fixed it! WOOT!
Have to update wave link, stream deck, and the wave link stream deck pluggin.
Is there a way to do another VST video with your new settings? (:
I've added it to the list!
So hopefully it doesn't take too long to make.
Not too much will have changed tbh, I would just remove the "Noise supression" filter suggested in the other video and instead Turned on the new Voice focus
(Strength will be subjective to your voice & space.)
@@ajsarsfield I seen you have a BPA Gate 2, Elgato EQ & TDR wasn’t sure if those are a new EQ you have tested
@DeadShotNova ah yes!!
I found BP gate after making my old video and I've been enjoying that more than "deegate" it has a bit more control but it's more complex to use.
Elgato EQ I've been using for a while as you can download presets from the elgato marketplace so it's FAR easier to use for most beginners who don't know what works best for their mic/voice
And TDR is what I have been using as my De-esser but now the elgato one exists i don't necessarily need that any more.
@ Awesome! Thank you a Video Breaking Down BPA Gate 2 Would be amazing! Thanks you for your hard work
Best update yet!
I've honestly been SO impressed!
& The noise removal Filter is Fantastic.
basically adding all the features GoXlr has had for 5 years then 🤷♂
Yeah....better late than never i guess 🙃
tbh they're both as bad as each other cause it took the GoXLR 5 years to add Sub Mixes lol
Do you plan on dropping an updated video for VSTs that work with voice focus?
I haven't made one yet but I've had a few people ask about it already, so I guess it might be wise to make one soon 🤣
@ thank you kind sir.
This is a massive W from Elgato. Quick question, does the update reset any settings once processed? I’m thinking my current filters will need to be updated again once the update is installed.
I didn't have any issues at all, it remembered all my filters/settings BUT just in case backup your filter chains.
Green filter button > Add effect > Export effect chain.
Can just load it all back up if anything goes wrong
(That's saved me a few times)
@ Thank you for the tip! Looking forward to more great content from you. Have a great day 🤝
So it looks like sonar now the added need for elgato products to use it?
Sona came out WAY after Wave Link & has a few less features.. (Wave Link Released in 2020/21 I think)
I do agree that its Kinda frustrating you need Elgato hardware to use it though but if you don't have that stuff for your audio setup at least there's other free options out there that do similar things.
How about the ability to midi map all the controls or assign hot keys like you can with Ginger Audios Caster which I use and love!! Btw. This looks like Caster
Comparing Voice Focus vs Nvidia Broadcast Mic Suppression which do you prefer better for removing background noise of Keyboard and people ?
Thank you.
Honestly I prefer this one!
Mostly because it's CPU based vs GPU based and although the Nvidia one works great at removing the noise in think it also sounds a bit more Robotic than Voice focus at stronger settings.
Updating to Wave Link 2.0 has caused the dials on my Stream Deck+ to be unusable. The regular buttons/functions on the Stream Deck+ are operable, but I cannot add any functions to the dials. I get the message "Please Launch Wave Link" even though Wave Link is open.
Sorry to hear that 🙃
Mines been working fine but I've heard a few people have been having similar issues to you.
Assume you've checked your stream deck is up to date?
If that doesn't fix it, Hopefully Elgato addresses the bug in the next few days 🤞
what should my de-esser settings be? advanced ones
Honestly, it's going to be different for EVERYONE.
You'd have to change the Frequency & threshold to match where the "sibilance" is in your specific voice
(Harsh S n T sounds)
Usually between 5-9k for the S sound
And then change the strength just enough thst it removes the harshness without it sounding Like you have a lisp...
In most cases I'd just advise using the Auto setup and play with the amount slider to get a sound you like.
(Mines at 72%)
(Use the new sound check feature with an S & T heavy test sentence)
@@ajsarsfield thank you!
Should I remove my noise removal from my VST chain with voice focus on?
If you're going to use the new voice focus then you don't need both in your chain.
I think they'd end up clashing and causing issues so it's either one or the other.
Unfortunately, after updating to version 2.0, the application no longer starts-neither as an app nor in the Windows Task Manager-forcing me to downgrade while waiting for a fix. I’ve already reported the issue on Elgato’s Reddit and Twitter, and I’ve seen that other people are experiencing the same problem (for once, someone beat me to it!).
This is cool and all, but I can no longer adjust my microphone input volume through my Wave XLR with my Stream Deck +, as in input decibel level. I use two mics, a dynamic and condenser, and when I swap I always adjusted the input gain with my Stream Deck +, but that's no longer a feature that works for me. And the Stream Deck is up to date, I just checked. Having Wave Link input to my mic on the input dial only adjusts the output to my headphones or the stream mix, and not my mic input decibels, and having the "device" on the dial on Wave Link, Device is just blank when I put that in my dial
is the stream deck software also up to date?
I just checked on mine and I can still change the gain of my microphone using the Stream Deck+ at least
In the stream deck software I have to choose Wave > Device > and then change the action to adjust gain.
I only have 1 mic though, so I don't know if that's different if you have 2!
Whats your 2nd mic? cause I know Wave Link software isn't supposed to work with 2 Elgato microphones at the same time.
❤❤❤
How do i use voice focus on my wave 3 and then put that mic with the effect on OBS?
Easy.
First set all your filters up in wavelink.
And then in OBS or discord or whatver, your audio input should be "Microphone FX" for the mic audio only.
But if you want ALL of the wavelink channels to come through together so you can control it all with a streamdeck etc then "wavelink stream"
After this update I’m interested in using the Wavelink, but I only own a Stream Deck Plus. Can I still use all these features with a mic that’s not from Elgato?
Can wave link exclude the music channel from UA-cam while livestreaming? I know we can use the VOD track to keep it out of VODS but didnt know if it can be excluded entirely from UA-cam while live
