Robin Wilson is a great singer. Really a tenor, hanging out in the baritone world. Him & Valenzuela were great. Doug Hopkins would be proud. Nobody got more mileage out of one great album. Everyone loves New Miserable Expensive. Thanks Jesse & Robin for still doing it!
I agree. I loved his voice and their music. A great alternative to all the grunge vocalists who were dominating at the time. I did like both though lol.
Robin Wilson has a mesmerizing voice and he sounds great singing live - wow. The first time I heard this song, I was stunned by its beauty, and by his unique voice. Thanks for posting this!
And he wasn't even supposed to be the singer. What's cool about his voice is that it's kind of Karaoke without sounding Karaoke. It's like some dude you hear at a bar singing Karaoke and you're like, "Hey, that guy singing Karaoke actually sounds pretty damn good."
Sept 2022 still listening to this beautiful song.. am i the only one mesmerize by his face while singing??my all time fav song and band❤️ loveyou Robin Wilson
My favorite Gin Blossoms song. I forgot this song even existed for a long time because not long after it was released it just disappeared off radio stations, at least in my area. If not for me going down a rabbit hole of nostalgia on YT a few years back I might never have found it again.
Jocelyn De Ocampo-De Vera I agree, they are great band, they should have been bigger and more successful than they were in my opinion.....so great!!!!!
A good song and one of many from the Gin Blossoms. Its strange, though - I find that usually when I visit a Gin Blossom's song on youtube, the comments section is usually crammed to bursting point with overwhelming nostalgia. 'Those were the days', 'reminds me of my youth', '90s music was so much better' etc. Compared to the comments section of other 90s bands videos (Pearl Jam's for example) where there is considerably less pining for days gone by. Why is that? Perhaps it is because the Gin Blossoms music has a wistful, melancholic sound which pleases people of a certain temperament, disposition, or personality type who are predisposed to melancholy and nostalgia. Personally, I think the freshness of the songs and the crisp production of the studio versions allows them to translate well into the present day. I think they are quite vital and should be enjoyed in the present, not purely as a memory. I feel that it's good to see less depressing nostalgia here.
That's a really excellent observation . As I was listening to this I began to feel very nostalgic . There s definitely something about the music which is wistful and meloncholy . ...
+boris4626 Not sure about all of that, but I do find a certain degree of nostalgia in their music, although some with Pearl Jam as well, but not as much. It's a matter of timing, I think, but at a certain time, this music really spoke to me. Not even so much in lyric as just in "sounding" right. Soul Asylum was another one, and although I scarcely agree with either of their messages, I love the music. Go figure.
+boris4626 I think it might be because bands like Pearl Jam are constantly getting played on the radio, as well as the fact that the band continuously created new music for 20+ years. The Gin Blossoms got mad play in the '90s, and then radio largely forgot about them.
Didn't know until just now that they were at Farm Aid! Cool! Of course, this was when they were just breaking. I've seen them 4 times, but fun to see Robin with long hair. Bill Leen always has the same look and movements. Great band!
I loved this band. Brings me back to my youth days in the 90s. If you watch some of there recent concerts. you can tell his voice started to change. its much more squeakier.
Not knowing much about these guys, it sounds like they're playing live as they do in the studio; controlled with tasteful restraint. I hate how sloppy live stuff usually is, but this sounds quite nice!
I want to tell if I am or am not myself It's hard to know How far or if at all could go I've waited far too long For something I forgot was wrong I don't know all the answers I think that I'll find Or have it within the time But it's all that I'll have in mind Until I fall away I won't keep you waiting long Until I fall away I don't know what to do anymore Until I fall away My fear pretend that I'll never be in love again It's real to me but not like these fools And not like this scene I won't find or have it within the time If it's all rusted and fade In the spot where we fell Where I thought I'd left behind It's loose now but we could try Until I fall away I won't keep you waiting long Until I fall away I don't know what to do anymore Until I fall away When there's no good answers And no new questions Another personal disaster There's nowhere to go but down
@@ReddevilsFanNGainz86 It was (and might still be) a style from the past 15 years that was a reaction to hipsterdom and overtly, self-conscious ostentatious, overstylised dressing. 99 cents only store on sunset Blvd waiting in the long line with the elder grannies from all walks of life as they ask you if you will watch their cart because they need to run and quickly get another bottle of canola cooking oil they forgot but not really its just a sign of erratic obsessed compulsive behavior of being insecure waiting in long lines and having expendable social security benefit money to splurge. 🇺🇸! 🇺🇸 USA 🇺🇸!
Graceful, epic and hanuting. One of the most beautiful songs ever.
God, his voice is amazing live. Never heard anyone else sound like he does.
So agree!
I remember them not wanting to be what they were, a great power pop band. I really liked them and still do
Criminally underrated
Amen
Seriously, this guy is one of the best vocalists, even now.
yeap
Gin Blossoms bring a certain type of people together and we all long for the same things.
You know, that’s very true!
His voice is so calming
Saw them live the other night 8/20/22 still sounded amazing. Such a good show
Yeah, they've held up well over the years, can still deliver. A hard-working band.

@@danielkelley7548perfect way to describe his singing
This album got me through some tough times!!!
this is back when bands still sounded great live.
Jackson Brown quality song writing. Very underated band. I really miss the 90"s.
Always such a strong and beautiful voice.

+boris4626 - regardless of their many troubles, theres a lot of love and passion in that band. Oh, and talent! God they were great.
Quelle belle voix!!! j'adore. Et quand j'avais 30 ans, c'était mon genre de gars :-)
The last concert we went to pre-pandemic. February 2020 Lots of room to dance by the stage. Loved it!!
Best gins concert I eva saw, wrf. Love dis band, omg ... da GOAT of garage bands ...

Amazing.
❤
Shout out to drummer Phil Rhodes. Thanks for teaching me how to Rock out with tempo, conviction and power! Wishing you all the best!
Me encantan ❤ una de las mejores bandas de los 90s
His shirt? That's an Arizona State University logo. The band's from Tempe, where ASU is.
I loved this band. Brings me back to my youth days in the 90s. If you watch some of there recent concerts. you can tell his voice started to change. its much more squeakier.
Best of 90s band
❤❤❤❤❤
Top demais 👏👏👏
my god - they look so early 90s....
I love this song a favorite of theirs but I think it sounds better slow paced.
grandioso concierto q
Thats the day that good sounds are born..

I was just gonna change the chanel on music,,,,This song is bad ass.....
one of my best friends introduced me to the gin blossoms. He killed himself last year. I miss him.
So sad to hear that. Sorry for your loss, Tracy.
The Blossoms also had a death by suicide!
Add two wigs to the Gin Blossoms and you have Soul Asylum.
I want to tell if I am or am not myself
It's hard to know
How far or if at all could go
I've waited far too long
For something I forgot was wrong
I don't know all the answers
I think that I'll find
Or have it within the time
But it's all that I'll have in mind
Until I fall away
I won't keep you waiting long
Until I fall away
I don't know what to do anymore
Until I fall away
My fear pretend that I'll never be in love again
It's real to me but not like these fools
And not like this scene
I won't find or have it within the time
If it's all rusted and fade
In the spot where we fell
Where I thought I'd left behind
It's loose now but we could try
Until I fall away
I won't keep you waiting long
Until I fall away
I don't know what to do anymore
Until I fall away
When there's no good answers
And no new questions
Another personal disaster
There's nowhere to go but down
Lowes foods brought me.
❤❤❤❤❤1
You look and sounded like my fiance i love this band 90's kid
For the greater glory of God...
😎👍
AS = Arizona State
Nope
Xoxoxoxoxo
Doug Hopkins....oh where did ye' go.
RIP 😩😩 such talent and emotion in his lyrics!
Wanted to have a garage band. Found themselves in a very large garage.
Omg, I'd have him for my man if I could. Lol😎
"Dash Rip Rock!" Who the Hell are Dash Rip Rock!?

Doug is not in this performance. It was 94.

Dash Riprock?! The actor from Beverly Hillbillies?
Didn't know that the Winter Soldier had a band. Better watch out for Captain America, since he might crash it.
