    Man I would hate playing Freddie lol. Guy does not miss a ball and makes you do all the work

    • @unlimitedtennis
      @unlimitedtennis  Рік тому +6

      😂😂 yes he’s an exhausting player to play. He can develop enough of his own pace to not be considered a pusher but he is rarely offensive minded. He puts his effort into maintaining a neutral ball which makes it tough to attack without a little risk. Attacking is the way to beat him but you also don’t want to miss because that is he wants you to do lol

      trust there a lot easier u gotta have the right mindset, unless of course consistency is ur struggle rather than hitting through him

    some of the best defensive playing ive seen. this is the kinda guy after 3 games, i would make him run right and left non stop. nothing else would really work because he defensively returned everything.

    • @unlimitedtennis
      @unlimitedtennis  Рік тому +2

      Very hard to hit through him. Utilizing the whole court would definitely be more effective! Easier said than done but I also think that’s the game plan!

    • @markj6302
      @markj6302 Рік тому +2

      smart, i agree this would be the best tactic. if you can't blast through them then you have to wear them down. take aggressive cuts at the ball, but not too much that you miss. i think Will just went a little too far into unforced error territory. Freddie kept his depth up and Will pulled the trigger too early most of the time

    Here is some feedback on Freddie's serve
    1. He is opening up his body too early and moving his right foot past left foot, it seems like he's trying to do a pinpoint stance, which fine, but there is no coil on the serve
    2. The toss should be at 12 O'clock, which would force his right foot the be behind left foot and allow him to coil and uncoil, which helps with power.
    3. He needs to keep the arm all the way up on the toss. The left arm drops too early
    4. His contact was a little too early and I suspect that's because he felt like his were in a rush to hit the ball, so maybe a slightly higher toss to have more time for his swing.

    That's the problem with baseline playing. Tennis court is not that wide, trying to go side to side from way back mostly produced errors. A reminder that we all need to play with depth more. Glad to see some approach and volleys.

    • @unlimitedtennis
      @unlimitedtennis  Рік тому

      Yeah he is capable of playing really high level tennis. I’ve seen it, but he will buckle against guys that’s hard to hit through. He could add a little more spin and angle to his shots. A lot of his balls frequently flatten out which takes away from the angle he can hit. His approach to volley sequence can be worked on some. He can do either of those shots, but putting them together in a sequence is the hard part for most players, but if he could become more comfortable in that sequence of shots he would be a stronger player for sure. His baseline game is there and it will set up that sequence, he just needs to work on consistently using his approach shot to be good enough to have the easy volley winner

      @@unlimitedtennis I currently play at Belmont Abbey (D2) and I am a 12 utr but trust in college in don't mean anything, and I was always told the difference between D2 and how ur fella plays vs a higher d1 to pro is moving into the court, u can make as many balls as u want but as long as ur moving into the courts after every ball especially if u see ur opponent step back u will find a lot more success. there were many balls where the 9 would step back into the court to prepare for the ball and like u said the kid has a nice baseline game so if he moves up takes more time away and learn that being aggressive isn't how hard you hit the ball but where u are standing on the court, but thats the only thing I would add in addition to your summary. I was taught to imagine u have a string attached to u and ur opponent if he moves back u move forward and take that time away from him, use his lack of quality to punish him and of course scream ur ass off after every point.

      @@MostLikedComment123 I think that is really good feedback and I appreciate your presence and experience in the comment section. Definitely makes us all better for those who read. You gotta be playing for a really high level D2 team as a UTR 12. A lot of D1 teams struggle to fill their rosters with only 12 and ups.

    Freddie's fh seems very difficult to read as he tends to hit it closer to the body, or later in the swing path/timing. He doesn't hit it in front of him that much.
    Will's fh has a lot of action and pop, but I found that the clipped take-back and lag-snap path dropped the ball short a lot. He hit a number of fh's in the service box and lacked some depth.
