Whoever thinks this is a V1 vs v860ii comparison video, it is not. If you use flashes off camera and use it inside of a softbox, there is not difference. Even if you bounce the flash from the ceiling, there's no difference. That is exactly why he didn't compare a photo with both flashes bounced from the ceiling. And everyone, even if a learner, should know that you should not point the flash directly towards your subject. Now you can certainly buy it to use the the round head attachments, but you can do that with Magmod accessories as well.
Very good points. Agreed. But what about the simpler v1 menu? I guess can use the pro trigger with 860 to fix that problem?
The exposures are not even close to matched on the portrait of the woman. There's softness to the shadow, but the lens is set for shallow depth of field so???? that makes little sense for a comparison.
why should you not point flash directly st subject??
@@photo2000 it will create harsh shadows and cause the red eye effect etc.
@@womplestilskin agreed the 860 is also zoomed and power turned down to accentuate the profile on the wall, just like you’d do when using coloured gels.

Thanks for talking down my V860II. The first picture you showed was quite underexposed for the V860II, and it had a green/blue colorcast. That is a cheap way to compare products.

Godox redesign team, please elevate the build quality of the entire enclosure and the sturdiness of the metal mount attachment(too flimsy) to the camera body. Also improve the tactical quality of the buttons, it feels cheap with this generation.
Too bad that shop wasn't there when I lived in Abottsford or Fitzroy. Free workshops (product demos) Hosted by Toadie from Neighbors would have been a treat to drop in on.

I enjoyed the video and the substance was of quality, but the system to record the video needs help. You would be lost to me at times... I still did not see how you enacted the Modeling Flash. Maybe it was me, but maybe a microphone on you would help. It would have helped me some. Thanks for informative video none the less. I will keep watching your productions for sure.

Hello, thank you for this helpful comparison. I have a question. With a Nikon D750 + Godox V1 mounted, would it work as a Master to release 2 Nikon SB-800 flashes as Slaves?
Only if you have godox receivers for sb800, or if you would put sb800 into optical slave mode (no control of power that way). I use my sb 800 with reciever and it works good.

Please, I need some insight on whether my newly bought V1-s flash as a malfunction or if it is just me who don't understand how the flash is supposed to work. When mounted on camera (a7r3), I cannot cycle thru the different screens with the foremost right button. The button do nothing and I'm constantly stuck on the screen where all the groups (MABC) are lined up vertically. In that case, each of the 4 upper buttons are assigned to one of the groups, and I understand I should be able to set each of them either on TTL or in Manual mode, as well as to be able to change the compensation or fire power. I can change all those settings with M, A and C but not with B. B is always "--" (turned off). Pressing on the button do absolutely nothing.
Also, I can't get to the screen that should allow me to change the sync mode (the screen where the two left buttons are "TCM" and "SYNC").
When OFF camera, or mounted on camera but the camera turned off, I can use all the button properly and change the settings for group B too. I've done some test with the xpro trigger mounted on camera and the flash set on slave on each different group. In that case, I can set the flash on group B and with the trigger set it on TTL and Manual.
So, it seems to me that my flash do not work as it should when mounted on camera.
Could you please give me your opinion or some advice if I'm doing something wrong.

@@GODOXGlobal, I finally found out what was wrong with my setting. It was not the flash nor the hot shoe. The "wireless flash" setting of the camera was turned ON. I turned it OFF and now it seems all is fine. Anyhow, it is quite misleading that with wireless flash setting turned ON some buttons function normally and some don't. But I guess it is just me who really don't understand how to it is supposed to work... Anyways, it works and I can now learn how to use it :)
