    Thank you for the information.
I was a nurse at a teaching hospital MGH in Montreal and saw people dying in the hospital all the time. Everything in the hospital is toxic because they only work with pharmaceuticals and then when something happens because of a plant or whatever it becomes the big scandal of the century!
I realized that about 30 years ago when I was a nurse. One morning I see the front page of the Montreal Matin newspaper with the story about someone who had died from excessive homemade enemas. They made it seem like the scandal of the century and I thought to myself about the fact of all the deaths in hospitals and from medications witch are buried under the rug! I had already realized at that time that hospitals and doctors are excellent at saving accident and burn victims, but for the common ailments they're useless!
Another issue is when you have a very old person at home that needs medication for pain and the doctor says to the family that they can't prescribe anything stronger because it's dangerous and when an elder ends up in the hospital for whatever reason and becomes a problem like a lot of them do because of confusion they get so medicated that when you go visit them they're always asleep and a lot of times they die as a result of all the drugs they're given to them! This happened with my father who had a massive stroke. By the end of the first week the doctor was already talking about having to operate on his gallbladder and liver because they were inflamed and I know it was because of all the medication he was getting. We brought him back home against doctor's orders and he still lasted one year without any surgical interventions, but he was a total handful!
Unfortunately most people that I know are totally scared of plants!

I'm also a nurse and have been using herbs as medicine for over 30 years. I'm almost 70 in good health and still working part time. A lot of pharmaseutical meds hurt as much as they fix. Notice I didn't say 'cure'. Make food your medicine, and use herbs to boost immunity. 😊

The only contraindications for burdock are to avoid the seeds during pregnancy and to avoid if you're a diabetic taking insulin injections. The seeds can cause uterine contractions which increases the risk of miscarriage. The root lowers blood sugar so there's a bit of a risk of the blood sugar going too low when combined with insulin.
I just found your channel and I'm glad you're calling this out, it's something I've noticed as well.

From what I gather, the primary concern of wild burdock is the potential of herbicides. Where I live, burdock is typically reviled, and people spray them with herbicides all the time (even when not on private property). It's the same with Japanese knotweed. If you know that nobody sprays the burdock and knotweed you find, you've got nothing to worry about.

Hardest thing to overcome is how detached we are from our dirt, along with flora & fauna and information passed between generations and communities versus how attached we are to finding information online, through sponsored ‘expert’ write-ups & videos.
We need to dig in dirt instead of clicking links to learn more.
Thank you for giving information on the wonderful resource that has been used by people since ancient times.

It's hilarious, I recently started harvesting burdock and I ran across that same information about it growing near and bearing resemblance to belladonna, and so I looked them up to make sure.
Yeah, they're nothing alike. Not even a little tiny bit. I'm a total ameteur wild harvester, and I could never make that mistake. And that's not because I'm extra smart or observant.
When I went out to harvest, I saw belladonna growing nearby and I was able to identify it easily, so the part about them growing near each other is at least true. But no, they don't resemble each other at all. I've been raving about that bit of misinformation for two weeks, and now I run across your video.
So thanks for calling out that bit garbage!

Found today it spreads , ripped the new ones out, keeping the old one for the flowers LOL (need to see if I can use it, for what and how!) There is NO WAY it can be confused with burdock!!! 4:41 I’m supportive of ‘food’ as medicine. However, the thing people also need to be aware of- pharmaceutical companies notwithstanding- is that many BENEFICIAL plants can also harm in some situations, or in bulk/frequent consumption. Just because they’re ‘natural’ doesn’t make them 100% “safe.”
Not arguing against natural foods or ‘drugs’ at all! But learning about all our foods is wise and beneficial.

If it's 500 take 2 a day. I also take a multivitamin. Your anxiety is crippling because your cells are deficient in these and your cognitive receptors are not working properly. I literally have suffered for over 35 years. After about 3 weeks of taking these I stopped waking up with panic attacks. It's been almost 3 months and my anxiety went from 100 to like 5. I tried everything. Medications, etc. I'm anemic and have been taking 500 mg of iron for almost 2 years. I started drinking burdock root tea and my iron is up and I feel even better. I don't have to take the iron pills anymore. I promise you will see a huge difference. I am not sure where you live but also do grounding! My doctor couldn't answer anything I asked her about the fact that I am getting better. She said that she doesn't know why I am getting better. It doesn't make sense in western medicine. You will see a difference. I am sending you positive vibes. And also, anxiety doesn't mean you're weak. It means that your body is lacking minerals. Please look up the minerals and read about them for yourself. By the first week you will notice a difference. Mushrooms are huge as well for your health. We are literally made of metals and minerals. @Wild Utah Edibles perfectly fine. I forage a lot here in Italy as do many other people, it’s actually part of the culture. Burdock, chickory, Chard, curly dock, spinach, cardoons, borage, are all popular. There are also a number of people that do mushrooms but I’m not confident enough in that yet as I have only lived here about four years and some other varieties here are poisonous and I don’t know them well enough yet. I would like to be able to do mushrooms in the future after learning from someone who is an expert.

I do not understand why that one webpage has got you so upset. It listed a number of positive effects for the majority of the article, with a very small section of, like you and the article stated, "possible" negatives. The article reads to me as largely pro-burdock. It is generally considered a good practice in journalism to at least mention the opposing view. You just brush off the dehydration risk as if everyone should know the side effects of the plant. Why do you keep repeating that they will never do the research? Do you not understand how that works? I do agree the 2 plants do not look similar besides they both have purple flowers, but again it is generally a good practice to warn about possible foraging dangers, and if the 2 plants with purple flowers are known to grow together I would find this information valuable. I don't know if you always act like this but your remarks throughout the video, your anger, I just do not understand it on an article that reads to me as pro-burdock and I feel sorry for you.
