This was so important for me to understand after being born again, I was dead to sin through Christ but that sinful nature always wants to claw back in. Galatians 5:17 the desires of the flesh and spirit are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to to do. Christ is the only answer, he died for us so that we could be set free; TY Jesus, you are truly beyond words.
I read Roman’s today and I thought that if I am a True Christian, I wouldn’t sin. This video cleared it up thank you. Fight the good fight of the faith.
Thanks again for another short but powerful explanation of what we all experience in ourChristian life ….God is never in a hurry and nor should we be but we should remember that the apostle Paul said….”I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course.”….we experience what Paul experienced so let us be patient and faithfuland keep looking to the Lord and let Him take charge of our lives by the Holy Spirit…..
We cannot deny the truth that while we are still in this body, we are constantly at war with sin. But only the true born again believer will always have uneasiness when he sinned even a minor one. If he sinned a huge one it won't only be uneasiness but a great misery engulfed his soul until he dealt with it, but don't forget that his righteousness is in Christ not through his own effort. But when he sinned he lost the joy of that liberty which he achieved through Christ. The moment we sinned, immediately we should dealt with it so that joy be restored. Don't go on with a joyless life it's terrible, deal with it quickly! But if a person claimed to be born again and committed sin and continue to live in that lifestyle and also appear joyful, it's doubtful if that person is really born again or it might be he has gone far away from God so that his conscience is seared like a hot iron and don't suffered guilt anymore, that would be terrible.....
its when we dwell on something, like seeing an attractive member of the opposite sex...and our mind wanders. If you can dismiss it then thats fine. Its when we covet and plot...thats when the trouble begins.
Just be honest to God and yourself when you keep sinning. That's better than put more attention on your behavior than God's voice. If you do so, you rely on yourself and would feel the most pain than ever.
I've prayed a million times to be set free from this nightmare I have life I can't get ahead or nothing in anything it's all cursed because i have no help or strength against bit at all so where is the love of GOD for me my conclusion is he doesn't know me and must have imagined it all I must if decieved myself I'm don't know anything anymore I'm sick in everyway I feel sick no amount of prayer id begging to be set free comes
A battle is exactly what it is. My desires to control my life, curse people out that makes me mad, go out and party, have sex and adored myself. Then there's the world pulling at me to get into social, political, identity, race and ideological wars, family drama, girlfriend, husband issues and constant body aches, age and physical and economical changes. These things never stop trying to rule over me. Something new is always coming, so I must be on guard against any and all trying to take jesus place.
If Jesus did it while walking on this earth, we can do it too? Is that what we are supposed to come to realize? How are we any different right now than Jesus was before He went to the cross? We have the same incorruptible seed, the same Holy Spirit, the same Father, & Jesus Himself living in us. Should it be possible to now live just as sinless & perfect & powerful & loving as Jesus did? Or is there something different about us?
Praise God! I’m so joyful to be on the Lord’s loving side. Thank you Desiring God! This helps a lot! God bless you more and empower In Jesus Christ name.
Romans 8:1-39 carefully tells us what it means to be "dead in Christ," and what should/must be done from then on. Accepting Christ and now having His spirit within us, in place of that 'spirit of sin,' is what then enables us to do what God the Father now asks. FAITH is then the key - not intellect. Because once someone is 'Crucified with Christ' there is no turning back. Yes, you can fall short, turn away, give in to temptation & sin, and God will forgive you many, many times. But ultimately one HAS to do what John 12:24-25 and John 15:1-13 explains. Because once God has you He will NEVER let you go.
we must be always be guided by the holysprit in everything we do and in every aspect of life in order to walk in the narrow path which leads to life. We as christians have both the inner man and outer man working in us. The inner man is the new creation in christ which is pure and holy formed in us when we are born again which is born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. As long as we are alive on this earth we also have our carnel nature or flesh in us also know as the outerman acting as a fifth column within us 2nd cor 14:16 "For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day" Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. so this what jesus meant by carry your cross and follow me if we want to turly follow christ we have crucify our flesh and deny our carnel nature that wants to rebel against God and obey his camandments ie love your lord your God with all your heart and soul and loves your neighbours and enemies as your self. it is impossible for our outerman to do this with will power or self control for if done by the flesh it will lead to self rightiousness and pride. When Jesus left , he told that he would sent a helper to guide us and comfort us in our trials. He is God on earth only member of the God head haed which on earth at the moment with us on earth . The holy sprit is not meant just to speak in tounges etc but is over personal guide who is supposed to be an integral part of our decision making process of our life . It is important that we keep the lords camandments as Jesus said anyone who loves me will keep my camandments . John 14:15 If you love me, keep my commands. John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. yet our rightiousness is not derived from this works for God is so holy that our works are nothong but dead works in eyes of the Lord . Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. All the camandments can be summerised into 2 ie love your God with all your heart and strength and love your neighbours including enemies as your self . Matthew 22:37 "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." Mark 12:31 "And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these" In our fallen nature it is impossible to keep this camandments and we need supernatural power of the holy gohst to truly keep his camandments , if you are lead by the holysprit then you dont need to obey the camandments as legal laws (which was never its pourpose )but this camandments will be written in your heart and what ones seem to unnatural becomes natural as our carnel nature erodes and our spritual life blossoms Romans 2:15 Who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
I’m tying to understand what role our spirit plays. When we were sinners with corruptible seed, hearts of stone, that old spirit desired to sin AS WELL AS our flesh? It was 2 against None?? Now we have a new spirit that is incorruptible that desires to please God vs our flesh 1v1? Or is it our new spirit, Holy Spirit, Spirit of God, Jesus Christ vs flesh 4v1? Part 2 If Jesus was perfect & holy & sinless while walking on this earth, we can do it too? Is that what we are supposed to come to realize? How are we any different right now than Jesus was before He went to the cross? We have the same incorruptible seed, the same Holy Spirit, the same Father, & Jesus Himself living in us. Should it be possible to now live just as sinless & perfect & powerful & loving as Jesus did? Or is there something different about us? “Be holy for I am holy.” “be perfect even as your Heavenly Father is perfect.” “No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep sinning because he has been born of God.” “No one who abides in Him keeps on sinning: no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him.”
Thank you Pastor John for explaining this so well. " For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spirits and principalities in high places ".
@@worthyisthelamb7473 Yes Praise God the Lamb is worthy and He's also made all of His believing children worthy by paying for their sins and crediting them with His perfect righteouness. Thank you Jesus! And thank you Father for sending Your One and Only to be our Loving Substitute. Should I apologize for something my born again self didn't do, since that which is born of God cannot sin? (1John 3:9) Should I apologize for something that I didn't do, but that sin living in me did? I died and my life is hidden with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:3) I no longer live but Christ lives in me. (Galatians 2:20) Paul said it was no longer him who sinned, but rather it was sin living in him who did the sinning. Should Paul apologize for what he did not do, but what sin living in him did? I posed the question to "Ask Pastor John" but as far as I know the question was never answered. (Though I have not listened to all episodes) I asked another pastor the same question, and he also had no answer. I asked a Bible Study teacher and again, no answer.
Psalm 1 gives us the example of a successful man. One who daily spends time with God in prayer. One who kills his flesh in the morning and led by the spirit through the day. Ending the day in taking a inventory of the days work for the gospel of Christ. And spend some time in the evening with God in prayer.
If He made us sinless now we wouldn't reach out to Him like we need to in this life now. God wants us to need Him, & want Him everyday with sins & all.
I have watched a lot of your vids Pastor John.. I've had this very Q. so many times.. you Sir have just answered so many in my mind.. Thank you so very much.. now so many things are making sense
I'm so fed up I know all this but where is the power to fight and win over my addiction to crack fir 25 years where is the power to not sin when all you want bis to not sin but then that's all I seem to do everyday!!!!
Jesus said the greatest condemnation is "that Light has come into the world but men love darkness more than light, because their deeds were evil." David pleaded "Create in me a pure heart, O Lord, my God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me..." in Psalms 51. When we struggle with sin, we look forward to Christ's deliverance!
This is a very interesting question and poses the question, then what happens to the freshly born again new born Christian who then loses his life and dies right after being born again! This leads me to believe that once in Christ sin is defeated. Paul draws this conclusion as well in Romans 8 and makes it clear we are free from sin, in the spirit made new protected in Christ and no longer of the flesh! It seems that Paul is is trying to tell us to put on our new spirit and no longer be controlled by sin by letting it have power over our lives and this fight to become perfect and free your self from it, but instead trust the Holy Spirit now in us and the work that Christ did on the cross. If Christ dwells in us then how can we sin! This is the true freedom that drives us to began to hate sin. It's done only by the spirit! It's not by our own power. Trust and be free from the flesh and sin. It's Dead!
First I want to say we are no longer sinners, but we are righteous saved from being a sinner. I know many say "sinner saved by grace" and that is okay if that helps you stay free from sin but me I ostracized the thought of me being a sinner but a righteous free from sin. Yes have I sinned from time to time, yes but it does not reign over me because I repent and turn back to Christ and so he does not remember it and I make a practice to stay righteous by his grace. Its all part of the process. If we die to ourselves completely and walk by the spirit we will not sin. But if we so happen to sin, we repent and go to god about it for change. So we are dead to sin because we are free from Hell and alive to Christ but it takes time to die to ourselves completely.
Son Of Jesus Im worried im not saved because im having such trouble with sin my heart is fading towards God but im praying and trying to not let it fizzle out my inside is craving sin and I seem to have no power if I was saved I would have it through the Holy Spirit I dont understand I came to Christ a year ago and ive made and honest attempt to live the Christian life praying for things He would want like to love Christ more to be free of a certain sin good witness to others and more and ive had nothing not felt His presence His love or His voice I dont understand whats wrong 😢
Does the spirit convict you of sin or do you know it's wrong? Theres a difference. You may know it's wrong but if the holy spirit of God convicts you that's how you know you're on the right track. Listen friend, it does not matter what I say anyways listen to what God says. Pray and pray and pray! Thats all I can say.
@@Goldtaker23Wow, 5 years ago. Did anything change? Did you get your answer? I was going to say to make sure you made Jesus Lord of your life. I went 29 years as a Christian battling sin, not loving people, having no power until I realized I was still lord of my own life. Once I realized this i repented & handed everything over to Jesus. Made Him the sole owner of all things, my house, my job, my money, my family, my will, my desires, my heart, my soul, my mind, my body, my life; EVERYTHING. This is what Faith looks like. This is what humility looks like. This is how one is truly born again a new creation. Thank God he had mercy on me & opened my blind eyes or id still be dead in my sins wondering why I feel & look & behave just like the sinners of this world.
@BingoNamo-gb8pz Wow that's amazing how do you give your life fully over to Jesus ? I know my flesh is battling my desire to want to love God and follow Him I want that relationship with Him and to be free of sin but understanding how faith works is a massive problem as well as trying to battle sin as I mentioned I'm badly backslidden but want to come back and make Him Lord but how is the question I can't force myself to be humble even if I want to be so is it a matter of praying for God to change the heart ?
@@Goldtaker23 yes, cry out to God from the depths of your soul & ask Him to fix your heart & mind as if your life depends on His mercy. Tell Him you are sorry & Ask Him to cleanse you of all your sins by the blood of Jesus…tell Him you need Him…you can’t go on without Him. Truly lay down your life. Hand it over to Jesus. He baptized me with the Holy Spirit immediately when I did this. He gave me the desire & power to obey Him & do His will & please Him. Ask God to give you a love like His for all people. He will be faithful in all these things so long as you seek Him with all of your heart & keep seeking Him & refuse to give up. Everything is a matter of the heart. Once He changes your heart these things will become as natural & habitual as sinning was. Once He cleanses you & accepts you & you feel His love & peace in your heart, that is the sealing of the Holy Spirit, entering your brand new heart & sealing your brand new spirit, the incorruptible seed of God. You are a new creation, filled with the Spirit of God…baptized in the Holy Spirit for all power over sin & Satan. You cannot live a holy life in your own strength. It is only possible to live by the power of God’s Spirit, with the help of the Holy Spirit. Any time you lose that desire, get a good night’s sleep, determined to wake up the next day & seek Him again with all your heart. Next time you have the Holy Spirit to help you so it won’t be as if you’re starting over, but picking up where you left off. You will be amazed by God’s love, mercy, long suffering & patience. Like I said…He waited on me for 29 years! And didn’t once condemn me or get angry with me, but He REJOICED when Jesus found me & brought me Home in GLADNESS. How can I resist a love like this?! You are coming Home & all will rejoice. Jesus is on His way to get you! Lay down, right where you are & allow Jesus to pick you up & put you on His shoulders & carry you Home. 😊 ❤️
I think another reason is because being perfectly sinless is something that you're supposed to experience in Heaven, and if you already have it on earth then it takes away some of the excitement of when you finally receive it in heaven. Kind of like if you have sex before marriage. There is a certain glory to waiting for things that just makes them better. Just my little observation.
I’m tying to understand what role our spirit plays. When we were sinners with corruptible seed, hearts of stone, that old spirit desired to sin AS WELL AS our flesh? It was 2 against None?? I fell into sin i started dating a woman who is in the middle of a divorce and moved her in. I made a mistake and i fell into this state i am repenting i dont know what to do i love her i never been in this situation ever. I am uncomfortable and i can feel it so her and i is talking about this subject
@Honorato Hector Rivas Repent and turn back to Christ. And he will forgive you. Keep seeking him. Reading his word Praying. He will change your heart. Don't let the enemy give you guilt about your sin. God wants to take away that sin. Go to him
Keep talking about your faith and your God with her and how u feel about the situation you are in with her. She will either get away from you or want to marry you. Keep praying for God's will to be done in this situation.
you dont have to kill it you are already dead to it you have to have faith that it has no power over you Roman 6:6 talks about how the body of sin is made powerless in your life , if you believe that Christ has freed you then you are free .
If after becoming a Cristian, we could stop sinning in this life and live a perfect obedient life me would become conceited and exalt ourselves - just like Lucifer did. So, just like the Israelites in the desert who were totally dependant on God to supply their daily portion of mana, we as Christians today are totally and daily depend on the holy Sprit's enabling power to stay obedient to God thus remaining totally dependant on God, as originally deigned to be.
So basically all pastors are saying from the Bible is that we have to do it on our own willing it or something because I pray everyday and try to fight and I'm in the ready and study the Bible I believe but do where is the real power to stop doing that you hate and know is wrong
Romans 7 reveals that there are two "I's": the flesh I and the new nature righteous I. The flesh I is the fleshly body that houses the spiritual new nature. The flesh includes our skin, bones, etc., but also our tongue by which we speak, our nerves by which we touch, our eyes by which we see and our brains by which we think. The Cross did not purify the flesh of sin, it only purified our spirits within.
The flesh has no power over those who have truly been Born Again. The struggle is when people try to conquer their sin by their own power, because they have not received the Holy Spirit: Collosians 2:11 "and in Him (Jesus) you were also circumcised with a circumcision performed without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ," Romans 8:9-11 "But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you." 1 John 3 "Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him. Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister." When Paul spoke about his struggles with sin, he was speaking about his past before he received the Holy Spirit, because he also said: 1 Corinthians 15:34 : "Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God-I say this to your shame." Paul also said, "Those who are in the flesh cannot please God." Romans 8;1-8 When Jesus said, "The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak." He had not sent the Holy Spirit yet. Jesus told the Pharisees, "You will die in your sins." For anyone who dies in their flesh, they are guaranteed to end up in Hell. God's grace does not allow us to go on sinning. God's grace changes us. God's grace does not free us to sin. It frees us from sin. Decieved people have faith that they can sin until the day they die and still go to heaven, but they don't have faith in the power of the Holy Spirit to free them from sin. To deny the power of the Holy Spirit to deliver us from sin so that we can live a righteous life is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.
You can not Kill Sins in Your Mind unless You Stop Thinking About it, and Be interested in the Eternal Positive Good Spirits of the LORD GODFATHER in Christ.Thinking About Sins is a Filthy Thinking Most Especially if You explain it Furthermore Continually and Keep on Talking About it in Your Sermon, and Then the Mind and Heart of Your Followers or Members Becomes Filthy and Merciless Hell to People Around Them , and They Shall be the Hypocrites.GOD is LOVE and be HIS LOVE in Christ to Everyone, even to the Worst sinner.Think HIS LOVE and You can CANNOT THINK Merciless Hell to Others.
The Flesh is already imperfect because of Sin the reason why it ends to death. One of the Most important is the Eternal Good Spirits in Christ in which the LORD GODFATHER in CHRIST hath Given Unto Us in Christ through the Lord God Jesus Christ. the Flesh ends to dust, but Our Souls in Christ Lives today and everyday continually Everlastingly.
How can You who have died to the flesh and to sin, sin any longer?...unless of course you lack the faith to believe, walk by sight and are trying to perfect the flesh which is dead...(dead works). Surrender to the new man (Spirit) and throw away your old wine skin (Flesh)...be anchored in that (Christ) which is perfect.
@@discipledesigned If You were truly saved, You would know the truth. What I know is that Ive been freed from sin, my sin conscious mind is washed clean and Im set apart from this world. I have no more consciousness of sin.
@@brendonburdett7015 your sin conscious mind is washed clean. Ok so I do not mean any condemnation I really am just trying to understand what you mean. Do you mean when you sin you feel no guilt of it because you understand you’re forgiven and that leads you to not do it again? (Repentance) or are you saying you no longer have a desire for sin, and you have not sinned once you were saved. Please help.
@@discipledesigned let Me put context for You. When the Pharisees looked at Jesus, they saw a man who broke their laws, who got angry at the money changers in the temple...they thought how could this be the Son of God...look how He sins, He is a mere sinner they thought and cried out blasphemy. A sin conscious mind finds sin in everything and in everyone including themselves. If You still continue to sin, then You sin as a free man because Jesus already paid the sin debt for the entire world. How do You break free from sin? ...You start proclaiming that which is not as if it is...its called faith. I say I cannot sin, because I call upon that which I cannot see yet believe in my heart I have...the more I do it, the more it manifests in my life and starts to become a reality. I cant remember the last time I sinned and its more that 10 years now.
Half the day I'm string against sin and joyfully and nit much can move me to fall into sin fro the barrage of thoughts to sin but then it's easy but the rest of half of the day I have NO power I'm mush totally and sooo miserable because I can't win one battle over sim no power at all with this curse of addiction I live a miserable life most of the time everyday so how am I saved or sanctified I'm miserable I this hidious sin!!!!!
Just remember not to fight sin in the flesh. You will lose. Trust the Spirit to fight the battle for you and He will. Apart from Christ, you can do nothing.
I love John Piper and he has ministered to me for years. But, I think he misses a vital part of our transformation in Christ with this answer. Briefly, it is found in Colossians 2:11, “In him you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ” (ESV). When we come to Christ, He performs a spiritual circumcision-cutting away our sinful nature! (Cf. Rom. 6:6, 8:9).
2Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. And also Galatians 5:16 which reads This I say then, Walk in the Holy Spirit and you shall not fulfilll the lusts of the flesh. From this scripture pair we can see God has left us in this predicament of the flesh verses Spirit so we must chose to walk in the power of his Holy Spirit every day in order to continue to overcome sin. This way God gets the glory not only in saving us, but also by his continuing to empower us to overcome sin every day, as long as we continue to make the choice to walk in the Holy Spirit every day for that purpose. If we live after the flesh we shall die. But if we by the Holy Spirit do put to death the deeds of our body we shall live, Romans 8:13. The word mortify in Romans 8:13 means put to death.
As Christians, we do not crucify the flesh daily, for that happen at our justification by Christ our forerunner. But we do mortifying the deeds of the body as part of our burden bearing. We do not sin past justification by faith. J.M. and most of visible "Christian" leadership is wrong about this and a few other things which God holds against them.
Yes i found out Just Yesterday how they are lying i’ve been unsaved for 5 months and i just found out now they where lying I saw videos of Guy telling me that Piper and Macartur are pharisees because they keep lying they sending many to hell most people on this videos comments are deceived
The true Christian will sin less, but they will not be without sin; however, when they do sin it will cause sorrow in their heart and will lead them to repentance and the confession of that sin. The fake/false Christian will have no sorrow or remorse for their sin and continue to live a life of rebellion against God. You cannot live a life of reckless unrepentant sin and have the Holy Spirit it is like saying I’m on fire while being underwater you are not saved.
Acts 10:43 All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who Believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through (Jesus) His Name." To Believe is to Repent of sin and Follow Christ
Thanks for this. --- I've heard similar questions be used as a polemic against Christianity: "Why would God cause so much suffering [or similar] instead of snapping His fingers? He must not exist/this must not be the real God" or some variant. Two things to note about such an argument: -It supposes objective moral worth on humanity: thus, there must be something that provides objective moral worth to humanity. On the atheistic perspective, there is no such thing, thus no consistent ground on which to make this judgment and 'judge God lacking.' -If it allows for God's existence, it supposes then that if we suffer, that an omniscient and all-good God would be obligated to let us know *exactly* why we're suffering. But what obligation would there be for Him to do this? Do we suspect any reasons He might have for not doing this? Vince Vitale gave the example of a man taking his dog to the vet: the dog is incapable of understanding why his master is holding him down and letting painful needles be administered to him. Yet, as human beings, we know this is for medicine - for a healthier outcome - not *merely* to cause pain and leave it at that. Might even such a simple example be a window to better understanding this? The late Ravi Zacharias often dealt with questions similar to this, highly recommend giving him a look. Another good resource: "The Loud Absence - Where is God in Suffering?" - a talk by John Lennox given at Harvard Med, easily found here on UA-cam.
Why? Being saved doesn't mean you are free of your flesh and blood body which is still subject to the law of sin and death. Deep within the flesh, there is a part that will war against the spirit, and it must be brought into subjection daily lest it draw us back to the old life.
Yes it does its free you from sin sir you can be tempted but you don’t go true since you have the Holy Sprit stop listening to pharisees like John piper Christians don’t sin its simple and if they sin they have advocate but their sin is not the ones name in Corinthians sir they do accidental can and it exist not all sin is wilful read Leviticus my friend Most Christian who call them self one like me sin everyday because we are not born again
Jesus is a prophet messenger of God not God and came to mankind to teach mankind to worship one god and told us in the Bible someone will come after me (prophet Muhammed)
BE GOOD --- FORGIVE GOD FOR HIS SINS For good is life, evil is death and sin is the harm that causes death. For God created earth for the purpose of ending all evil, God created all this sin to show the root cause of evil and when we reach the ultimate conclusion of sin, all things turn toward the good. For if God makes us grateful we have no desire to sin, if God makes us ingrate our only desire is to sin and the only way to be grateful is to forgive God. For by God showing all the harm in sin, he accomplishes a good and godly thing. For Christ died on the cross to gain our forgiveness for him creating all sin, as Christ is the creator of all things including sin.
I hate every sin in life. I hate the people who sin. But God is still torturing me day and night. If im dead. Why do i still have flesh body. If im dead. When i lay here dying. Why do i still awake? Is taking a dump a sin? Is eating a sin? Is loving my family a sin? Is telling everyone your sorry a sin? Now im being tortured through sleep. What happens when you do get rid of all you just said. And people still tries to get you to hate them. We will be robots
You're dead to sin, but you're not dead to sin. Jesus defeated sin, but he didn't defeat sin. God is charge of this world, but he's not the ruler of this world. This is the schizophrenic thinking of Christianity.
You are dead to Sin because You are dead to the law.....simple and clear. sin is not imputed when there is no law! You dont have to kill what you are dead to.... Your job is to look to Christ that provide his free gift of GRACE!
The battle is real. Fight the good fight. Stand firm in the faith.

Good way of reframing it. Didn't think of it that way
That was a pretty good way of putting it.
Terrible analogy.
One loses weight to get healthy, continuing the practice keeps you healthy and increases longevity.
That makes so much sense
Our bodies is not regenerated but our spirit has been born again,
I read Roman’s today and I thought that if I am a True Christian, I wouldn’t sin. This video cleared it up thank you. Fight the good fight of the faith.
You won’t practice sin. You won’t want to sin. You’ll want to please God & do His will by His Spirit within you.
You're so right.
Just be honest to God and yourself when you keep sinning. That's better than put more attention on your behavior than God's voice. If you do so, you rely on yourself and would feel the most pain than ever.
Do you think we sin everyday even if it's unknowingly?
@@dustygatrell-ru7tg I think deceptively, rather than unknowingly.

I’ve heard it said that we aren’t sinners because we sin but we sin because we are sinners. Thank God for His mercy and for His grace.
Because once God has you He will NEVER let you go.
thank you Pastor from the bottom of my heart!
Hallelujah!! Thanks you lord for being patient with us through the process of sanctification all praise belongs to you 😢🥰🙏
we must be always be guided by the holysprit in everything we do and in every aspect of life in order to walk in the narrow path which leads to life. We as christians have both the inner man and outer man working in us. The inner man is the new creation in christ which is pure and holy formed in us when we are born again which is born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. As long as we are alive on this earth we also have our carnel nature or flesh in us also know as the outerman acting as a fifth column within us
2nd cor 14:16
"For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day"
Matthew 16:24
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
so this what jesus meant by carry your cross and follow me if we want to turly follow christ we have crucify our flesh and deny our carnel nature that wants to rebel against God and obey his camandments ie love your lord your God with all your heart and soul and loves your neighbours and enemies as your self. it is impossible for our outerman to do this with will power or self control for if done by the flesh it will lead to self rightiousness and pride.
John 14:15
If you love me, keep my commands.
John 14:23
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
yet our rightiousness is not derived from this works for God is so holy that our works are nothong but dead works in eyes of the Lord .
Isaiah 64:6
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
All the camandments can be summerised into 2 ie love your God with all your heart and strength and love your neighbours including enemies as your self .
Matthew 22:37
"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."
Mark 12:31
"And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these"
In our fallen nature it is impossible to keep this camandments and we need supernatural power of the holy gohst to truly keep his camandments , if you are lead by the holysprit then you dont need to obey the camandments as legal laws (which was never its pourpose )but this camandments will be written in your heart and what ones seem to unnatural becomes natural as our carnel nature erodes and our spritual life blossoms
Romans 2:15
Who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
I’m tying to understand what role our spirit plays.
Part 2
If Jesus was perfect & holy & sinless while walking on this earth, we can do it too? Is that what we are supposed to come to realize? How are we any different right now than Jesus was before He went to the cross? We have the same incorruptible seed, the same Holy Spirit, the same Father, & Jesus Himself living in us. Should it be possible to now live just as sinless & perfect & powerful & loving as Jesus did? Or is there something different about us?
“Be holy for I am holy.”
“be perfect even as your Heavenly Father is perfect.”
“No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep sinning because he has been born of God.”
“No one who abides in Him keeps on sinning: no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him.”
Excellent! So very well explained. You nailed this one.
Thank you Pastor John for explaining this so well. " For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spirits and principalities in high places ".
Hallelujah! this is so much grace for me. thank you pastor sincerely.
Thank you for this great explanation. I needed to hear this.
It is no longer I who do it but sin that lives in me.Rom 7:17,20.
Well said
And since it's not the sinless born again I, but rather sin living in me that does it, should I have to confess and apologize for it?
@@STEVEinNC would you apologise to a spouse in a relationship if you sinned against them?
This was just a really clear message to me. I needed to hesr this message. Praise God amen 🙏

Maybe change your name then lol

Well. Have you left everything behind you???? When you do let me know !!!!!
Amazing!
Have every one lefted everything they have behind? Or am i just the only one who has to give it all up.
Now we have a new spirit that is incorruptible that desires to please God vs our flesh 1v1? Or is it our new spirit, Holy Spirit, Spirit of God, Jesus Christ vs flesh 4v1?
Very valid question. I wish people asked more questions so we could have humble dialogues.
Great question 👍

Since WHEN has ANYONE ever "KILLED SIN"?!
Do you think we sin everyday without knowing it ?
your best video
Is it possible to be born again and yet feel utterly corrupted when falling to sin?
you’re not born again people who are born again can’t practice sin an they can’t fall into it
So basically all pastors are saying from the Bible is that we have to do it on our own willing it or something because I pray everyday and try to fight and I'm in the ready and study the Bible I believe but do where is the real power to stop doing that you hate and know is wrong
Someone please help me stop smoking cigarettes ( 10-15 per day ) i was a chimney 😭, I use to call myself God's bakery shop
How is this tracking?
Romans 7 reveals that there are two "I's": the flesh I and the new nature righteous I. The flesh I is the fleshly body that houses the spiritual new nature. The flesh includes our skin, bones, etc., but also our tongue by which we speak, our nerves by which we touch, our eyes by which we see and our brains by which we think. The Cross did not purify the flesh of sin, it only purified our spirits within.
The flesh has no power over those who have truly been Born Again. The struggle is when people try to conquer their sin by their own power, because they have not received the Holy Spirit:
Collosians 2:11
"and in Him (Jesus) you were also circumcised with a circumcision performed without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ,"
Romans 8:9-11
"But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you."
1 John 3
"Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.
This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister."
When Paul spoke about his struggles with sin, he was speaking about his past before he received the Holy Spirit, because he also said:
1 Corinthians 15:34 :
"Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God-I say this to your shame."
Paul also said, "Those who are in the flesh cannot please God." Romans 8;1-8
When Jesus said, "The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak." He had not sent the Holy Spirit yet.
Jesus told the Pharisees,
"You will die in your sins."
For anyone who dies in their flesh, they are guaranteed to end up in Hell.
How do you get saved because i got waked up to the truth how do i let go of old that the only Way God cN save

(Cf. Rom. 6:6, 8:9).
Amen
Habits... and Bad Habits at that.
Because the besetting sin is what take on in burden bearing. It is not any committed sin on our part. These people are lying Pharisees.
Wow! 🙏
Will god ever forgive the unforgivable sin?
Acts 10:43 All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who Believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through (Jesus) His Name." To Believe is to Repent of sin and Follow Christ
Yes, Because you are dead to law so whereis your accusers?
Thanks for this.

I've heard similar questions be used as a polemic against Christianity: "Why would God cause so much suffering [or similar] instead of snapping His fingers? He must not exist/this must not be the real God" or some variant.
Two things to note about such an argument:
-It supposes objective moral worth on humanity: thus, there must be something that provides objective moral worth to humanity. On the atheistic perspective, there is no such thing, thus no consistent ground on which to make this judgment and 'judge God lacking.'
-If it allows for God's existence, it supposes then that if we suffer, that an omniscient and all-good God would be obligated to let us know *exactly* why we're suffering.
I'm starting to think GOD hates me

Allah is the great deceiver aka satan.
BE GOOD --- FORGIVE GOD FOR HIS SINS
For good is life, evil is death and sin is the harm that causes death.
John Ellis where are your scriptures?
I hate every sin in life. I hate the people who sin. But God is still torturing me day and night. If im dead. Why do i still have flesh body. If im dead. When i lay here dying. Why do i still awake?
Is taking a dump a sin?
Is eating a sin?
Is loving my family a sin?
Is telling everyone your sorry a sin?
Now im being tortured through sleep.
What happens when you do get rid of all you just said. And people still tries to get you to hate them.
We will be robots
Because you’re not born again
We all are really robots but better

You're dead to sin, but you're not dead to sin.
Jesus defeated sin, but he didn't defeat sin.
God is charge of this world, but he's not the ruler of this world.
This is the schizophrenic thinking of Christianity.
You are dead to Sin because You are dead to the law.....simple and clear.
sin is not imputed when there is no law!
You dont have to kill what you are dead to....
Your job is to look to Christ that provide his free gift of GRACE!
