A tip from the pros: 1. Don't put the portafilter up before you intend to brew. It burns the top layer of espresso and causes the almost dead shot that was pulled. 2. Your shot was basically dead (all black) look into a better bean, different grind settings, or not putting the portafilter up. 3. When steaming milk always do it first but give the machine time to purge the steam before brewing.
His tips aren't great, I'll reply directly to him. You made a good video, nice music. The crema probably looks darker on the camera than it really is because of the contrast but yeah if it looks like molten honey, you're doing well.
1. Top layer if properly measured and tamped won't touch the shower screen. Therefore the top layer should not be 'burning' like you claim unless he way overfilled the cup, which he clearly didn't. Nor does the SS in this machine get remotely hot enough to burn the coffee when steam wand is in operation. In fact it doesn't heat up at all on our machine and we have the same machine as the video uploader! SS and group head are only hot after extraction! The 'almost dead shot' you see, (which actually didn't look bad at all) is most likely due to the beans he was using. 2. The grind setting was correct, the extraction gauge showed it being perfectly slap bang in espresso range so this is a correct setting. Again, the bean is probably to blame for the sheer darkness of the initial extraction. 3. No, it's better to steam milk after. This is because stable water temperature is important and it takes longer for the water to cool back down to extraction temperature from steam temperature, than it takes to heat up to steam temperature. This also means the milk is freshly frothed and ready to go and doesn't naturally start to separate. Honestly in the time it takes to prepare the milk, you people act like the coffee will become stone cold! Also purging steam is just to get milk out of the wand. You don't purge steam from the part of the machine that handles extraction! With this machine you know it's at extraction temperature when the power button LED stops flashing, so he DID give it time in this video. If you don't know the machine don't act like a smartass! Especially when half your tips are plain wrong!
Jesus fuck. I try to not be negative in comments on UA-cam but wtf did I just watch. Started off with some sad af Charlie Brown music that made me want to open a vain or three then no explanation and he proceeds to make a pot of diarrhea water topped off with some foam 👏🏼 Image quality was on point though
VVML 90 that's how most people do but I've also seen many others frothing milk first and extracting after. I'm not sure which is better or it there's any difference at all. I will definitely try what you suggested too just for the test. Thanks
Having a timing issue and wondered if anyone has suggestions-the pressure gauge is right in the sweet spot and the shot looks good, however it’s ending around the 15 second mark. I know you want to aim between 20 25 seconds, so ultimately my shot is much less in volume. I understand changing variables like grind size, coffee amounts etc., but if the bar is right in the 12 o’clock where it should be, how do you change these things without messing with the pressure?
Me too! Wouldn't programming for a longer shot result in added volume of water, weakening the shot? Kind of new to this but mines 15 seconds for a double also with pressure gauge at 12:00
Mary Raimond Grind size in this case is 7. I could probably do 6 also for the coffee I use and have a little more pressure. Time, I don't know. I just stopped (as you can see in the video) when I "felt" is enough extraction. And it tastes great
He's talking about RE-PROGRAMMING not just pressing the button once for the default extraction process. During re-programming you press the button once to start, then once again to stop. Incidentally I also have the same issue (extraction stops before I stop it manually).
@@baristakev5709 The title says “programming”. There is no programming whatsoever. So that’s a fail. And be honest, the coffee he made looks horrible. If you’re going to post a movie on UA-cam, at least make something decent. Btw I also own this machine. Will check your channel 👍🏼

This machine won’t burn the coffee, it’s not an E-61 group and therefore doesn’t retain much heat.
Wow, that Art Latte, even Banksy couldn't make it through the stencil 😍😍😍

Seriously, WTF??? Lmfao ... I give you a thumbs up for making me spit the coffee I was drinking while watching this video. Good comedy.
Espresso is different from Coffee and espresso is 10 times stronger than coffee. You cannot get that in a cheap coffee maker.
I think you should brew the coffee first and then froth the milk so the milk doesn't get separated while waiting for the coffee to brew.

It won't separate, you want to do the milk first so your espresso doesn't get cold and die. Frothing takes time with this machine.
Is this the coffee version of How To Basic?
Haha came to comments just to make sure I wasn’t crazy. Comments did not disappoint.
The only reason I am giving you a thumb up is because I have the same countertop in my kitchen. :)

exact my problem! please help us!

Should be a shame for someone to answer these questions hey? Same problem here...
Have you measured how much volume your shot has. Thats where you add for a longer shot to get 2oz in 25-30 seconds.
I think machine is volumetric in pull. So your grind might need to be either finer or tamped more maybe?
That just made my day, thanks for the share!
Ok latte art timeeee aaaannddd.... Well i want a cappucino anyway.
Excelente Roseta
Wtf is happening
No idea
Awesome!! I’ve got the same machine……..and somehow completely ignored the program button. Thanks for the vid!
Trolling ? What was that coffee?
you should be arrested for doing that shit
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks a lot!!!
which is the best grinder set up ?? for dual & original basket ??
Wtf was that lol? It was like watching someone completely give up on life at the end. A complete "f*ck it"
Wow! everyone came down hard on this poor guy...but I see why. Maybe he's just learning?🤔🤔
My machine single and double filter size buttons are keep blinking. Then can't grind it. What can I do??
Your water dial is turned on
you kept the pre fusion shot on? yuck
Hi FlorinCan you tell me the grind size and how many seconds you programmed the double shot?Thank you Mary

My re-programming doesn't work. It always stops before I press the button again. :( ...any suggestions?
I have the same issue, looking here for the answer,, no luck.
You're not supposed to press the button again. It stop automatically. Did you guys not read the instructions that came with the machine?

Nice!
Would it reset if i unplug the cable after programmed ?
I think if you hold the program button until it starts beeping, it will reset the machine to factory settings
@@krystiandworak2569 that is true 👍🏻👍🏻
You should look up on some videos on how to brew a cup of coffee. This was stupid!!
Coffee soup maybe?
You were doing well until you put water in your espresso .... and froth the milk after the espresso is done ....
That looked like a merengue to me. Good w coffee tho lol
You don’t know crap lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣
It hurts when I watch this @_@
Lol you just need a razor and your good to shave.
😂😂😂😂😂
Good machine with a bad cup 😂
Mohammed Alshadokhy Is he making coffee SOUP?
Morris Planagan No, but I mean the drink inside the cup, and sorry that my comment bothered you

Hahaha this must be a joke
why do you say that lol
