I have worked on a DoD project that uses Pelican to basically store, ship, and pack everything. They're damn near indestructible and have traveled all around the world. Definitely interested in buying one of their coolers -- I honestly didn't know they made 'em!
Awesome. Just ordered mine on their Black Friday sale. 20qt elite with the grey exterior and green interior. Nice job on the vid and thanks for the help in deciding. Cheers!
Good vid. Pretty nice cooler. One thing I hate about it is on rough ground, camping or whatever, it falls over in my truck all the time. Not a big enough footprint
You can still find the previous 20qt model, but it's $100 more than the new one. I think people realize the old model had superior ergonomics and a more pleasing design like a military footlocker and other cases that Pelican makes. The only big trade-off that I've heard of is the greater weight of the "vintage" models, which shouldn't be an issue with the 20qt size.
I still love it, it's great for an overnighter or day trip. for anything longer I would recommend sizing up for sure. But I haven't had any issues with leaking or the latches. It's holding up really well and I'm impressed. The surprising thing about it is it has become a pretty central part of the garage. I use it as an ottoman when I'm in my camp chair enjoying a cigar, I use it as a seat when I'm working on a car in the driveway (because my mechanic stool has wheels and rolls away when I stand up), and it is also become the default repository for stickers. Still good on it!
I can see in your video that the gasket has a gap in the middle, and in the lowers corners it seems that is peeling of...it is suppose to be like that or u just fixed it?
I believe that coolers have a small gap in the gasket, as this prevents the build up of air pressure. That is why this cooler does not need a air valve release.
This Pelican is shit. Tips over easily, not great ice retention. Got cracked somehow and they did not honor their warranty! Their 80q is great though. For small coolers get the Grizzly 15q.
You said this has the most interior capacity out of the standard 20qt coolers... that is not true RTIC 1302in3 ORCA 1188in3 Pelican 1133in3 Yeti 1070 in3
MadeInUSA Reviews I’m not arguing which cooler is better, only that pelican does not have most interior capacity. That being said, Made in USA is great and an impressive warranty to boot.
6 years later. This still might be the best review of this cooler on UA-cam.
@@duvalpenny100 lol thx for the kind words, glad it was helpful
Can you use it as a chair? Lol wondering if I should buy one
@@OGjandro no clue. I Ended up going with Yeti after a terrible customer service experience with Pelican.
@@OGjandro I sit on it while camping. it's like a nice stool

I have a 52qt RTIC cooler I really like but just got one of these for the portability. Going to use it as a drink cooler.

I dont see any of them driving on road trips and stopping at restaurants to eat. But thats good for them... 😂😂😂
Just bought one at a yard sale for $10. I couldn’t believe it lol
Wow, what a steal.
Great job on the video!
A question, though...
When mixed with ice (2:1 ratio), can it really hold 15 cans?
Thanks!

Yea I'm thinking about ordering the pelican cooler tie downs for using this in my old land cruiser

How do you like your cooler after two years? Any issues? Thanks for the review!

You had me at ottoman & cigar… getting one!! Thx for the review!! Cheers!!
It took over a minute to pull it out of the box?
you're on your computer watching amateur youtube reviews of coolers, check yourself dawg
Looks a lot different to my 2015 pelican 20 quart mine is much shorter and wider the leg grove is a top idea mine touches my leg when it’s full of ice
This was a better design.

That jzx ❤️
You should do an update!
This thing has been amazing. Still rocks, just now it has a ton of stickers lol

The crack is probably due to the injection molding. I don't hear about rotomolded cooler cracking.
I would get this cooler if it had a drain hole.

that is not true

Nicholas Yazzie 😂😂😂 this guy. Pelican is a way better priduct and where I want my money going

Update bro please
Love this thing. The update is it has a lot more stickers on it now lol. It still performs great, and I love the size for what I use it for.
Jesus. What a long winded “review”.
