Love your attitude shown, when running like the 2nd step child in the session. Not your 1st session like this, and we all have been there. You will bounce back again. Keep the great vlogs coming Lex.
I too had a rough poker week Lex. Like you said, Aces cracked, two flopped trips, to river flushes, one a six high flush, and a flop straight cracked by a higher straight on the river. But, like you said, down swings and tough beats are part of the game we love.
GREAT vlog!! Way to stay ‘balanced’ while riding this down turn. All of us poker players know exactly how that feels and I always enjoy trying to explain to non-playing friends that “you can play well, still lose, BUT be OK w/ it because YOU played well”.
Interesting session! Lot of to learn from. Discipline!! Lot of Discipline. D1: not to fast play a marginal hand against multiple opponents. D2: to fold a monster hand when beat D3: to fast play a monster hand when protecting the pot D4: to fold a marginal starting hand when is dangerous continuing D5: to milk the opponent when ahead
You are a far better player than me but I felt 1st hand was overplayed and it set the tone for rest of day. 4-3♣️ draw looked great but it didn't get there The river bet was a wish and a prayer. Now you've punted $1k+ and are chasing rest of the session
I like that last hand. You have to figure out which is better, value or max pain. I think with players you have a history with and no other considerations (player on tilt, drinking, etc) value is the better course of action.
I'm going through a 5 game losing streak, and self doubt is starting to creep in. So glad for this vlog right now, Lex. I hope you bust them in their heads next time 👍
@@Trust_but_Verifyshouldn’t be looking at it this way. Should have the bankroll for buyins lost to not matter. If the game is good and you are alert. Keep playing.
Mr. Lex..... That was definitely one of the worst poker sessions I've ever seen you have... But thankfully that you are a good enough of a player to get that money back.... You've done it a thousand times.....
Tonight was not running like shit. It was playing like shit. I forget which set it was, but you bet like half pot after building the pot big. With one card to come, the flush draw is getting too good of a price when you bet half pot with money behind. And they got it all. Had you jammed turn and they called and won, I would have said you ran unlucky. But got it in good. Fundamental Theorem of Poker applies to no limit also.
Great vlog again Lex! Do you think if you’d block bet the river when you had a full house against the lady with the straight that might have induced a bigger bet from her?
In the early hand When you flop the set of 6’s, you raise villain’s nearly full-pot sized flop bet… on the turn you only bet 1000 into 2000??? You’re giving him amazing odds to hit his draws and over cards. Villain only needs to call 1k to win a pot of 4k. What you should do on the turn is bet 120%-150%, with your value hands like sets, and also your bluffs (to get max fold equity). - especially when the turn brings in two flush draws!!
It was nice meeting u at the hardrock sorry for walking up to u a bit abruptly while you were in conversation but I had show some respect to one of the best 5-10 players in the room hope you comeback from your downswing 🙏🙏💯
Man, I've had days like this....after losing to that queen flush, I'd have simply got up and left...it simply wasn't going to be your day...and then when you lost to the other nut high flush...bro, you only have yourself to blame for staying....
two questions, Lex - why don't you ship it on the turn with pocket 6s when having less than PSB and when you're gonna attend that nasty right palm, ew ;)
Does anyone else think it might be bad moving from high stakes poker to 5-10? Just such vastly different levels and people doing weird stuff? I mean it sounds like Lex has been playing systems against recreational players at his seminole hardrock for the past few years. And i definitely think he has gained a lot of experience doing that but i think he might run into trouble if he keeps swapping back and forth from high-ish stakes poker to 5-10 at his local casino? Is it just me?
We all know the feeling. Can’t tell you the number of times I’ve come home after a night t like that. Just talking to yourself saying I should be up 3 racks. How do I lose that many hands with the nuts after the flop. 😢
Hi Lex, on the first hand, what kind of hand would you might have higher than Ax...? maybe a 45??? cause you just called pre-flop... and then on the turn no other card completed the flush or the straight... i dont think that an Ax hand would fold on this situation...
@@Lou-Meatskavitch i think that with AJ/A5 Lex would have tribet preflop, and after the check raise on flop that the villain called and board did not paired or had flush completed... villian would call any bet on river... (sorry about my english)...
Your sizing on turn with 66 was not right, you need to jam turn, if you were deeper with the double flush draw it would even be and overbet or a 2x pot jam leaving 1/4 pot behind just makes no sense at all
You inspired me to play this game after weeks of watching you. Went down to AC and fired! Went down with $600 in 1/2 no limit hold ‘em lost $200 off the rip but then went on a $800 heater! Strange stuff so I decided live poker is the only thing for me. Lost $250 in online poker, so I’m benching that for now.
With the Q10 hand would you be betting this big against her with a worse value hand or a bluff, knowing she doesn’t like folding, trying to make her fold a straight? If you are normally hesitant to bluff for a big size against her knowing she doesn’t like folding, and you do it anyway it screams strength and makes it easier for her to fold
I think betting $2300 is not optimal. You are only getting called by smaller boats. AK will fold some times. I think 1650-1750 would have gotten paid off…… just a thought. I love the transparency! All good Lex! Next Snap💪
Agree with going the value route. The question is the amount that's right. Almost any amount throws up red flags. No idea what the ladies stack was so that also impacts it. I may have went the same bet as the turn or $1400-$1500
Don't like that 1050 bet into a pot over 2k on the turn with the set of 6 hand with only around 1k behind. He's not calling river if he miss, you're not folding whether the flush get there or not. Should've get the money all in on the turn to charge the max for draws and at the same time looked more like you are on a draw yourself.
I’m no expert in NL and don’t pretend to be, so asking an honest query here…. twhy’d you bet so little on the turn when you had a set of 6s on such a draw heavy board ?
brutal session Lex smh no real premiums except 10s and AKo, the 66s hand, if u looked at the villian as an OMC or a NIT or TAG then yeah u could have got away from that hand when he open jammed on u, thanks for showing the L sessions, u make ya vlogs more relatable to all of us who experience that same bad variance at the tables, I hope u run better next session

Class to you for showing her the QT I would’ve been far too tilted to validate that incredible fold😭
Used her button to see his hand. He’s mentioned them in the past with this private game. That little red button
Feel like you are not as tilted when you run bad and lose as 12 months ago, love seeing the vids keep on truckin Lex 😊

Wow Lex, the two guys before you are crazy, two hands (AQ and J2) that you deserved to win. Don't give up :)
I don't think it's a downswing when you lose with 4/3 or K6. But I like the action.
Everyone takes a dip in the cooler every once in a while. 😂 That's poker ♦️♠️
K6s and not even a thought of flopping 2nd best. I love players like that. You know better.
I love your attitude on the bad days! Thanks for sharing! Stay positive!!
Nice work, Lex and good luck in the next one!
Seems like the dealer was routing against you with the set of sixes. The way he put fingers on the ace queen and danced it around a little
I'm sure they don't! Lex has a bad reputation with dealers and as a group they despise him.
They love to see him lose!!
10:27 You forgot the cardinal rule, don't go broke in a limped pot!
so: it's ok to go broke in a non-limped pot?
What a rule??
First hand is an absolute punt. No point in firing 3 streets out of position on A-high boards. Just flatting the turn doesn’t cap anyone.

hardly. The lady knows his play. (She read him through).

That's why you don't put much thought into one day's results. Looked like a fun and profitable game, though.

I actually think you played the QsTs hand just fine. You gave yourself a chance to win a huge pot, but also got the most from missed draws and Q's.
You played well, the deck just laughed at you. Can’t avoid these things if you play poker. Good luck next time

been on a 3 month downswing
Two flopped flushes at the same time, nuts vs 2nd nuts? Ouch. That's just brutal.
flush over flush is so sick. less than 1% chance of flopping a flush

Online poker is a scam. friends team up and also players have multiple accounts. the odds are severely stacked against you. stick to in person play.

Bluffing unnecessarily on 1st hand, but the 6s hand might as well go all in on the turn that gives him a bad odds to call.

Even if you are crushed on the river jam first hand how can you not call getting 10:1
Wow brutal flopping 2 sets and still can't win. I thought I only ran like that - well no where to go but up
I think you need to go all-in with your set of 6’s instead of ‘giving him a good price’
one can't have it both ways: to lure opponent in and to protect the pot when ahead. However, one can fold when being beat. That saves a lot.

-4600 in a wild 5/10 is a pretty standard loss to have here and there. Not sure what the big deal is, it’s nowhere close to a downswing
