I got to meet Mr Monroe at a record release part in 1989. That's one tall, good looking Finnish man. It was like looking at a Viking dressed like a Glam/ Punk guy. He was very kind and likeable. He signed posters, but he wanted to write what he us wanted, to speed up (his English was shaky). He saw my suggestion: "To a young man who loves to party and makes a mean tuna sandwich", and started laughing, and said in his accent "OK, we have a comedian in our midst!" Such a cool guy. I loved this album, as it was like GnR meets the Sex Pistols in an alley, with a dose of IV Heroin!
I agree with you--definitely underrated. I'm inclined to add that Michael Monroe and Hanoi Rocks were also among the most underrated musicians of all time.
I have been listening to all things rock n roll since 1968 when I was six, and in all my decades I know one thing this is one of the greatest rock n roll anthems of all time
Men and Women were ALIVE back then,it's impossible for them to understand. Plus it was the last days of metal band's playing in between punk hardcore band's. In his heyday,Michael would blow these hacks off the stage,no questions!
seeing this as kid all those years ago on mtv having Axl pop in cameo whilst GnR being hugely popular was awesome. cuz there was no internet websites jewtube etc...just the albums and mtv.
I saw Michael Monroe perform at the Grand(no longer around) in the early 1990s--about 1992. I was right in front of him during his entire performance. Michael was like magic--so full of energy and raw soul that grabbed me musically. To this day, his concert is among the best I've ever attended--not because of where I was positioned, but because of his performance.
Oh my freaking goodness like get the freak out like really. I so remember this song and music video. It kicked big time but back then. I love the back then and I still due to this day. This song is fantastic. Plus it's also the baddest and the coolest song ever.
this is gayer than 130 dudes pouring baby oil all over themselves and rolling around on rubber sheets playing ticklebum with their beards. super hot, i know, but pretty damn gay.
Depends really. If this band hadn't tragically been stopped by I think the incident with Vince Neil killing their drummer we be singing a different tune and they could've been there with the greatest? Who knows?
And this guy is finnish. Finnish speaking guy, singing in english and people forget it. Sad that people doesn’t understand that finnish guy can go to america and do stuff like this. Keep up the good work Matti!
Who forgot it? Not me. I still listen to Michael and I'm an American. Was lucky enough to visit my friend in Turku and see him live in a near by town a few years s back. I also listen to Negative and Jonne Aaron's solo stuff even though I don't speak Finnish. I listen to Lovex and a couple other Finnish bands. I'm hoping for a Negative come back someday. I've never seen them live. Jonne's new song Olettamuksia and in English Dance with Danger are great. Some of us Americans are paying attention and have not forgotten Michael.
Well, Michael used hired guns for his recordings. Phil Grande, Nasty Suicide and Jimmy Ripp are all listed as "guitar" on the CD. I believe this is Jimmy Ripp in the video. I've seen Jimmy with Mick Jagger and he looks like Jagger's guitar player.
Great tune from one of the most criminally underrated records of all time.
Steven "Aerosmith" Tyler: "I like that record a lot." referring to this one.

Yes ! That whole record is fantastic !
My favourite rock-album ever!

If Axl is a huge fan of yours, you are truly a top star.
Michael Monroe and Axl Rose ❤
Michael Monrose 🤘🏻
Michael is a way cooler plus thoughtful person than Axl Rose 🥸 ANY DAY.. 😇
I have been listening to all things rock n roll since 1968 when I was six, and in all my decades I know one thing this is one of the greatest rock n roll anthems of all time
Jack you obviously lead a very judgemental life. Fuck off.
@Jack D'Ripa Yeah Jack you sound like a huge asshole
Highly underrated.
Should've been recorded more raw and lo-fi.
Michael Monroe and Axl Rose. Awesome !
This reminds me of the good old days when I was 19 in 1989. Late 1980s GOLD AGE.
Master of Masters , long live Michael Monroe !!!
Perfect Rock n Roll Song!
This song kicks ass!
This should be on national radio.
It was...in the 90's.
3 people dislike this.........do they have some kind of mental problem that makes them dislike great music?
Must be LOL
Michael Monroe, Axl Rose and Sebastian Bach = Rock'n'Roll Greatest Frontmen!
Then where do you place Ian Dury?
hahahahaha
Joey Ramone, Joey Ramone and... Joey Ramone! :D
Bankai Dylan Shush! Joey deserves to be spoken about in hushed whispers...decorum please. 😊
Bankai Dylan testify brother !
I'm tired of people coming to videos from the 80's, and talking shit. This is real Rock N Roll, and most of the music since 94 has been fake garbage.
they always forget the roots of where someone came from..
Men and Women were ALIVE back then,it's impossible for them to understand.
Plus it was the last days of metal band's playing in between punk hardcore band's.
In his heyday,Michael would blow these hacks off the stage,no questions!
So you are tired of something that really never ever happens? Oh, okay.
Nah m8 this is shit Rock N Roll
This song came out when I was 13 and loved watching the video on Headbangers Ball on MTV. Still a great song.
yeah Axl Rose N' Michael Monroe = Good Rock N' Roll
seeing this as kid all those years ago on mtv having Axl pop in cameo whilst GnR being hugely popular was awesome. cuz there was no internet websites jewtube etc...just the albums and mtv.
Axl wanted to be in the video, that's all. He's a big Hanoi Rocks fan no actual song witting contribution at all

Cooooooool !!!!!!!!!!!
Mr. Monroe is just great! And his harmonica!
MM finally gets it right with this LP. Hanoi Rocks needed more of this on record and MM delivers here.

Like, omg- totally!
We need more of this in todays music
this is gayer than 130 dudes pouring baby oil all over themselves and rolling around on rubber sheets playing ticklebum with their beards. super hot, i know, but pretty damn gay.
Yeah! We need pure talent..not garbage and auto tune.
this song is awesome!
G&R and Motley Crue as well owe everything to this guy. The fact that he's still alive and performing is miraculous in itself.
One of my favorite songs, "I" just luv this song!.😎👁🤘🔥🎱♠
Ha! You guys are botards! Michael Monroe was a huge influence to Axl... Not the other way around...

That would be the New York Dolls. Hanoi Rocks wouldn't have existed without the Dolls
Father of the glam rock? Get the fuck out of here, Sweet and the Dolls were doing this before Monroe and Hanoi Rocks.
@@AaronStark1993 Maybe so, but Hanoi Rocks surpassed the Dolls _by far_
Underrated song.
