- After winning the 2022 World Cup, it is now confirmed that Lionel Messi has completed football. He had already won every other trophy, and that World Cup win was just the final piece of the puzzle.
But is Messi the only player who belongs in this category? Definitely not. Let’s look at nine players who completed football.
For the sake of this video, we’ll be looking at players who won the World Cup, the Champions League, and the Ballon d’Or, representing the pinnacle of international football, club football, and individual achievement, respectively.

Every intl power made a final in either euro, world cup, copa in 2002-2012. Spain, france, portugal, netherlands, italy, germany, belgium, argentina, brazil, uruguay all had opportunitie to win top tounraments in one ten year period despite dynasties like spain and zidanes france such was depth of talent in the generation. Only team that struggled considering pedigree was england but lot had to di with emphasis on club football as talent was never issue just priority and they look to likely be 1a or 1 favorite for about every tournament in next decade So muh depth.

Messi has also Copa America, U20 WC, Olympic gold medal (an underrated achievement) along with WC, UCL and double-digit league titles and most importantly winning the "Best player" award in every competition.
He has also won the Treble twice and the Sextuple once.
He has really gone to an unreachable place.

Di Stefano, Kopa, Luis Suarez (spanish player), Dennis Law, Rivera, Eusebio, Best, Cruyff, Kevin Keegan, Rummenigge, Platini, Guillit, Van Basten, Papin, Stoichkov, Sammer, Figo, Shevchenko, Modric didn't won the World Cup

Ronaldo Nazario should be another honorary mention since he won 2 World Cups, 2 Ballon d'Ors, and many other notable titles. Unfortunately, he's just missing a UCL trophy despite playing for 4 (arguably 5) of Europe's biggest clubs.

I personally think that Alvarez and Mbappe would achieve it sooner or later! Jamal Musiala and Jude Bellingham also are close, but for Haaland it's too difficult to compete in the World cup.

I’m a fan however he only won things in Spain.. never moved clubs and was successfull not even with arguable the best 2 players surrounding him in Paris he had a horrible time in France and moved to the US with the young age of 35 where hehave gone back to Barca get a great team arround him again to win.he is one of the goats for sure especially after having won the World Cup but how do you conquer football if you only won something in Spain?
