This interview was so helpful, beautiful and resonant. My awakening story (and subsequent terror and series of hellish events) was a shock to myself and my family. I was in recovery for alcoholism at the time (2017) and learned about spiritual awakenings via the 12 steps. Otherwise I was essentially clueless about spirituality prior to my awakening experience. It's been 5yrs since then, and thankfully I've integrated/healed a lot, and I enjoy a relatively sustained state of peace and joy. I can't describe how helpful it's been watching Conscious TV over the past few months. When I first learned about spiritual crisis' and emergencies (about 2yrs ago), it dissolved so much shame for me. A huge thank you to JC, Iain and Renate -- and all those who make this program possible. I'm also so grateful to all of the spiritual teachers, healers, guides and people on this path (and all of life / divine consciousness). Much love and blessings to us all! :-)
I have finally got around to watching this interview. Thank you for sharing it. Yes, I can relate from my own experience of awakening. It is a little different for each person. My experience is very similar. I had a promising career and my designs brought joy to millions of people around the world. After 27 years, I am without a job. It was then that I decided to live a more simple lifestyle. I sold off most of my possessions just to maintain a simple life. I even had to take public assistance for a while so I had food. Now my life is at peace. Nothing is missing and there are no regrets. It is like being awake and walking through the dream. I do not think, but I am aware. IT IS REAL...and it is there for every person. I call it "Letting go and trusting that the universe will catch you" and it will. You can not understand this with the mind, you must understand it with the Heart. If "IT" can be spoken or thought, then it is not "IT." I wish this for each one of you and it will happen when "It Is Time." Don't give up...
What has been happening to me, I accept without the need to name it, identify it, or define it as this or that. I prefer it that way.I learned to practice gratitude for everything for in my life, This works for me.
What an inspiring interview . I'm 22 years after awakening , the integration of awakening can take years , but its a rare gift to know life with this sensitivity and intimacy.
I've just had 7 years off work after visiting an Ashram. I had an awakening a couple of weeks ago. It took that long to clear all my stuff (dark night of the soul). You are right to be scared. I went through hell and back. I did it without a spiritual teacher, I think that made it far worse, and made it last far longer. However I learned far more about myself this way. If it wasn't for researching spirituality online I would have been screwed.
Yes! Don't worry. The concept of "Functional in society" will change in a way that at this point is difficult to understand. This wanting for "functional in society", will leave like an wanting, and will come as rule that you can play, but not a need for sure!!! It will be great, and can happen now!
Actually the state of 'No-mind' spoken about in meditative traditions such as Zen Buddhism is one of the most beautiful & expansive states a person can experience. It not so much no 'thoughts' but the transcendence of the attachment of thoughts & identification alters to the ever present observer, pure consciousness. It is pure 'Bliss' out side of the space-time context & a step into the mind of god.
Remember that the human being has a longing to belong to what ever is, even to enlightment , non duality , spirituality , this longing creates the world which are full of concepts, stay with the longing and not to what the longing belongs to. Find out how all this consciousness came upon you and from there it all starts again that is the longing to belong to what ever is, and that is what it is to be real . Self-realization means I am completely full it's a goal, something to achieve , all of this is knowing by something in you that's your nature "I don't know" and then the longing to belong is ever present . Even all that is said above there is a longing to belong to that .
The answer to your question is that one can be truly functional only when this "transformation" does occur. There's nothing that you're losing, you're gaining everything. Don't worry and just BE.
This sounds like a kundalini awakening, which, from what I've read, is different to other kinds of awakening i.e. awakening through knowledge or awakening through love of the guru.
I really appreciated this interview. What JC describes is very similar to what several enlightened sages have described as their transformative experience. When I contemplate JC's experience and his challenge of integrating it into his daily life, I recognize that Western societies have no vocabulary or even tolerance for something so ethereal and profound. Were JC a swami in search of enlightenment somewhere in India, he would more likely have been accorded both the space and the regard to fully experience and integrate his merging with the divine. It's time we started thinking in terms of transcending, instead of merely surviving, or winning. I commend him on his courage, compassion, wisdom, and love. He is a true seeker. Sir, I am curious to know about the further progress of these realised people. Is there any addition of new extraordinary faculty after this enlightenment. Why don't they explore it further. Is there any higher existential possibility through this God state realisation. Please guide.
Yes, this is something I've heard other enlightened people describe: everything thing is alive with the energy of consciousness..which it is if you think of it as being atoms and molecules. They perceive aliveness in all things including inanimate objects. So he sounds pretty on the mark.
I am sorry.. this guy has never before surely experienced fears or anxiety and so he was just shocked.. there are really ways out there.. dont seak him as a teacher.. axiety has always a mental reason.. a wrong thought to be found.. then corrected.. then it has to be just feeled and then let go.. he has made a drama around that... Not, that I dont know what that is, cause I also have been through anxiety in my life at some point.. it is ok.. it is immeditatly corrected when you find your fearfull, hatefull, wrong thought.... the thought, where you have FORGOT THAT GOD IS THERE AND HOLDS YOU AND LOVES YOU. THE MOMENT YOU WENT AWAY.

the fact that JC experienced unity-consciousness and then fell into an extended period of dreadful fear is truly intriguing.

Thanks for the honest account. It gives a very important message that everyone can be enlightened!
Excellent story...Thank you very much conscious tv!!!
What a beautiful interview! I found his story very moving.

He experienced awareness without ego and found peace and then ego without awareness and found hell
JC, Loved the show, Thanks Iain.
Thanks for sharing, astonishing! It really explains a lot to me.
I am moved by what you shared. No, the transformation does not leave everyone un -functional in society. Do not be afraid :-)
Thank you.
YES !!!!! :-)

An interview for the Ages!
EXCELLENT story loved it!
Yes. Awaken down first by doing emotional healing. Awaken up by doing meditation. No hurry. It is not a race.

11 and a half minutes in and I'm on the edge of my seat, as if this guys for real and not some spiritual guru type selling some idea of whatever
Yes Johnny, He is for real. Awakening is for All Of Us.....
Namaste
Is this JC Mac giving any speach or something?, any website to visit?
Awesome.
i experienced this in 2006. I'm writing you from work. :o)

I love his laughs LOL

Very nice.
Good description :-)
This is my experience
This was about eight years ago, I'm curious where he is now, how did his story unfold, I cannot find him online.
He has a book available on Amazon. The anatomy of a spiritual breakdown by john McCormack.
true enlightenment=noble silence....
everyone have a dark side in them so that does not mean a wicked man can not achieve enlightenment
He was having a panic attack.
Very similar to Eckhart Tolle 👍
Except that there is no "now" as in The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. Listen at the 43:25 mark.
@@anatureperson5551It's the only moment there ever is. He is talking about no thoughts, past or future. Then you discover everything happens NOW.
Yep, good advice.....just BE :-)
Way good comment! Some marked it as spam?? About the best reply to her fear! You have been there yes? A good teacher is my bet.
So what now...great question
he says "you sold gun and drugs" "Yah I did that"
LOL WTF
try that this day an age and you could have your spiritual experience behind bars
lost not only thought but also emotions...
you gotta check sandeep maheshwari
@No3Patriot,
When he got out of the Matrix, the rent bill disapeared.
Some people have al the luck
you not enlightened yet. because once you enlightened you will leave the earthly body because you will attain the highest stage of realization.
He had me at claiming the plastic clock had life emanating from it. Bunk. Sorry, but something does not smell right

11 months not paying rent? Not leaving the flat? Not thinking?🤔

Don't be sorry, just realise you're incorrect
Please, there's no need to yell.
