Don't stop! Please don't stop, you're one of my favourite UA-camrs. Loved the Strep. potting up. Did you say the red climber was a Thumbergia? You were too quick for me. I have the red Mandevilla (after seeing yours). Hope you and yours are all well.
Aw that's really kind of you to say! You're clearly a very discerning and intelligent viewer! 😂 Yes, the black-eyed Susan is great - really easy (in my environment at least) - it's full name is Thunbergia Alata Brownie. And just for you, I'll give it one more week...😂
This spring I've started a pot of Kohleria 'Strawberry Fields' inside. When the nights were warming up in May, I put it in a bright, shady place outside. It did really well and it's flowering right now. Normal rain is not a problem, but it got a bit bruised when the pot got knocked over by strong winds. I also imagine hail could be devastating, but that goes for all plants with large, soft leaves.
Excellent! I think all Gesneriads should do OK in warm summer conditions - out of strong sun. I sometimes put my Streps out. And when the weather turns you can bring them in again and keep them going.😀
Just discovered your channel and subscribed. Definitely keep the channel going. I know some other channels have more subscribers but they maybe lose out on the community aspect! Your content and quality are very good and I'm sure your subscription rate will increase!
Aw thanks I really appreciate that! I'm still going since that video (it's from a few months back) so hopefully subs will increase enough to make all the effort worthwhile. I do enjoy the community aspect though - that's why I keep putting in all the hours for nothing. 😀
That was filmed on the 20th March and so much has changed even since then. Thankfully I'm still able to work in gardens even though my tuition company has lost 90% of its clients.
Hi Geoff! I need to look for Streptocarpus, I have never seen one in any plant place, only in Logee’s catalog( a nice nursery in Connecticut, too far for me). And I never heard of a Kohlaria, have to look for that too. Isn’t it wonderful how there is always something new to try?! And lastly, watching you pot them up, you are the first you tuber I’ve seen who also gently tucks the dirt around the plants with their thumbs, like my Granny taught me to do when I was 5.... anyway, be well! 🌿🌱😊
Haha thanks! Streps are brilliant and were a firm favourite of the Victorians. They seem to have fallen out of fashion recently but when you check out what they can offer they're brilliant value.

I’m so sorry- our travel business is in the toilet but what can you do?
I suppose we can try to be positive - at least we're still here. (Although I'm not all that good at watching my biz go down the pan either!)

My Achemines have the same little bulbs that you covered with vermiculite but I just use well drained potting soil.
😁
I’m so so jealous..looks so beautiful..great job
Thanks Kathy - anything in particular?
You kept that quiet - you're a dark horse Miss Nina the Ninja! Now I'm past 200 subs I'll give it another week! 😂
Should have some nice blooms soon. Got to give your channel at least a year.
Thanks Diane - now I'm past 200 I'll give it another week! 😂
Financial issues are a real concern..but we are all in the same boat trying to paddle in the same direction
Absolutely. The world will be a changed place after all this.
Estoy empezando a interesar en gesneriaceae,,,, 👍
Can’t get Berry Oda here in Tennessee
That's a shame. I wonder why? Too hot?
There seems to be plants that don’t sell here in the US...and some that don’t sell in Europe and the UK.crazy if you ask me.
The world is getting more and more crazy...
Been watching John Campbell on Covid19
👍
You need a little paint brush to knock off the soil.
Good idea!
What is red flowering plant
I'm thinking you mean the Masdevallia Ignea?
Oh my it’s gorgeous
One of my favourites too. I did a video all about it here: ua-cam.com/video/7t7DYOjKfmU/v-deo.html
I missed that? Yikes I will watch it now thanks
Says the video is private🤨
🥰
I need a greenhouse but the hubby says NO ..says this hobby is too expensive now
I think you need to be more assertive, Kathy! 😂
Oh my would you say that to your wife...🥴..a greenhouse would just feed my addiction.
😂
Slow but sure..
Definitely slow!
Took me a while to find you...slow and steady.
