Love this little camera I have 3 of them now. Looking for a firmware update but need some help.
Great and in-depth review as always!
I've been waiting for these colorvu upgrades for several years now.
But Hikvision is still holding off other important upgrades as marketing strategy.
I'm still happy with my old ColorVu's. I think I'm gonna wait till they release a 4k PTZ version.
A 4k with 30X optical version of this ColorVu would be a monster!

Only just seeing your comment now Ron but I totally agree. I’m in Australia but it was DVSLTD’s original review of the colorvu cameras that made my mind up to install them. They are excellent cameras and I’m still really happy with them. One or two of these cameras will be replaced the day they make a 4K colorvu ptz with optical zoom. Not sure why they would hold off making one and yes a 30x optical zoom colorvu ptz would be a monster.
Really like this camera might swap out some fixed for it. What is the most entry level PT/Z with smart auto tracking? (Cheapest / budget)

Hello DAITECH, another great video. I have this camera, there is a Zoom but it might be a digital zoom? Second, the Supplement Light configuration is different from Colorvu G1 series. The G1 series is under System Settings>External Devices and the "PTZ" model Supplement Light settings are under Image>Display Settings>Back Light Settings. Took me a while to figure that out. Thanks for showing that I thought I missed something.

Wish mine did the whole motion detection and tracking thing. Same model 2021 version firmware updated and mine does not go from yellow to blue once I’ve set it. Very frustrated that it’s not working.

I currently own four of these cameras and I am wondering if it is possible to turn off the light while still maintaining the camera's IR video functionality. Do you happen to know if this camera has the option to turn off the light, and if so, could you please provide instructions on how to enable the IR night view feature?
Just had this camera fitted, but I have a fish eye lens. Can this have a linear (straight) view.

Hello from the USA.. It seems we in the US are way behind. Can you set up patrols using the positions and can you assign other like units to pan/tilt based on an event so that the subject that is in the ROI is passed to next camera after it leaves the FOV. Love the size and form factor of the unit. it seems they have stripped down the unit and just added the COLORVU technology. I wish they left the varifocal lens but it seems all the new US COLORVU units are a fixed lens. Love your videos! Cheers
thanks for the comments and the US are not to far behind 😊, you can set the pre-sets and tour but I would be mindful of the operation , it has the function on the web page though, the handover process is something we have been talking about for years to be honest, not sure where they are with it due to the complexities of the setups and parameter that could effect this process, yes currently fixed lens, hopefully this will change soon 😊

Hi and thanks, this doesn’t have zoom so its not something I would advise being used outside where a zoom function would be needed , but there external rated should you choose to fit this outside 😊
Thanks for all you informative videos!. How much Hik Connect control is there for this camera using only Android phone app? Can you control all the settings like shutter speed, night vision etc. or is the phone app mostly just for playback and the settings are accessed on PC program or NVR? Thanks.
well HIK-connect app is designed for the end user and not the installation or engineer function so it wont have that kind of functions , but if it’s a PTZ it can control the iris function

Thank you for another great video 😃. I have issues with this model, on 2-way function through two of my IP cameras using the Hik app. Input/my voice jitters and is not clear in any way. My Android phone is connected to my router and the NVR via ethernet. I have both good upload and download speed.
Through the app when I select 2 way to NVR there are no jitters to my monitor speakers in living room. Very clear/my voice.
I don't know what's going on. Maybe the mic signal on cameras is causing interference or my internet is a little slow.
@DVSLTD have you seen this before? Can I turn off the mic on cameras and use them for one-way output to see if it clears.

These cameras are terrible, I select audio and video but they decide to switch back to video only.
That`s a great video and also a good camera.This video made me buy one. Now that i got it i couldn`t figured out how to set it to start to record when detect motion and stop when the motion is gone. Can you set that on this camera? If yes, how?

the setting can be achieved yes, make sure motion is enabled and set under the event , Basic event . motion. Then under storage option please make sure the SD card if fitted if using stand-alone and then enable storage , and set to event recording only.

Is this outdoor camera???
Does this camera, DS-2DE3A400BW, able to track an object by panning and tilting as soon as the object meets the parameters (ie threshold settings, within the monitor area, etc…) ? If the object triggers the camera and the object goes beyond the monitor area, does the camera continue to follow the object by panning and tilting? I have been searching everywhere but unable to find the answer.

Hello again, Daitech! I am seriously on the fence regarding this variant of PTZ (Digital Zoom).. I love the Darkfighter UK variant with 2.8-12mm optical zoom that is not available in USA. I Love the Colorvu technology with the advanced Accusence VCA. 2 things? Is the plastic housing and materials up to the challenge of outdoor exposure in Cold Winter months, Etc?
Has the firmware been updated so the 2 way audio functions properly with NVR?
Hi David and thanks for the comments, so the latest firmware on both NVR and PT camera will work via the NVR but from time to time I still see some issues and add camera direct to the app to resolve , but in general its ok. Regards the plastic housing its fine for external use , I don’t see any issues with that 😊
Cheers Daitech. Your videos were really helpful in displaying the product! I purchased the Colorvu PTDZ and am testing it now. It seems to be pretty solid. That Mic is best used outdoors or in a anechoic chamber to minimize sound reflections. I am using my WABECO Drill stand on my bench to test the unit indoors and outdoors. Have you tested in the rain and other harsh environmental conditions to see how it performs?

@@DVSLTD Indeed I have not tested on a windy day. One thing I did notice is there is an option to set up a patrol but the transition time between presets is limited to 120 seconds. (Not a Logical Patrol Setting) Have you observed this? 😒

We cant support VOIP for 3rd party to the speaker on the camera currently sorry ☹

@DVSLTD I found a Hack in the settings and it can Zoom!
You mean the digital zoom ?

if you:
log into the cam,
Go to Image & change the Scene to Outdoor
You then get a extra box on the right called ‘other’
Click that and change the zoom limit from 1 to 16
It will save automatically
Then change the scene back to what u want it
Go on the app or Live view and zoom in with the PTZ control!

How did you get the VCA to show up on live view?
on the web page , go to configuration , then local at the top and enable rules and OSD rule 😊

We all do the same fit them high up. 99.9% of thief's all ways look down, so why not get good ground cameras that are secret to catch full face along with high up cameras.
