That we can detect an object 68 centimeters wide from earth at such a distance is nice

Not as awesome as detecting an object 680mm wide from earth at such a distance.

@@cerovk6000 no, they mean that now we can see dangerous objects from far and possibly redirect them in time

Siberia is just a very wide and long expanse on the Earth's surface. The Pacific Ocean probably has many more undetected encounters...

It just let me thinkin' like others about an asteroid cloud, and that nobody's gunna run to shout to the world of this, and it gets me again over "the end of the fifth sun era" of the aztec calendar or better said solarium, by stones

I saw them all the time when I lived in Alpine Texas. Just as bright lighting the sky up like day light. Why do they seem to say that it's rare? Red yellow blue were usually the bright colors that they would show. And they would streak across the sky really really bright. They would light up the whole mountain range out there. It was a beautiful sight.

I hope the system gets better to where we have more time to prepare. It will be one heck of a BBQ party!

I was on my way home from NY last night headed towards Pa, and saw the brightest white streak fall from the sky what seemed right in front of me a bit! Actually concerned me for a minute. Never seen anything quite like it, long tail completely white, there and gone in a split second! Woke me up at 2:30 a.m. as I was driving. Very interesting.

Though small in physical size, if it had impacted the Earth the effects could have had massive implications depending on touch down location.
An item of that size has a tremendous amount of potential energy, of stored energy. It's make up would be a determining factor. The more solid rock like the higher the potential energy factor.
    Their flight is amazing.
However, people need to be aware of potential so that they can appreciate the efforts to keep us all safe.
