You changed the strut. You should have also changed the strut mount and bump stopper at the same.

6mm hex key, buy an extra and cut off a little for the upper mount and get a quick strut, that will save hours of time and frustration.
What will happen if you keep using the car with broken absorber?
Incase of accident car won't stop properly and accident can kill you .

Was the top mount made of plastic? Amazing it is held with one bolt. Toyota really is getting cheaper.
