I don't get why everyone's being so hard on her about her fulcrum. It's perfectly fine. Yeah her pointer finger is a little to far out but haven't you been taught or heard of a three finger fulcrum? She's playing on drum pad, and almost all of the videos that are posted on this channel are drum set videos. So anything about marching band is irrelevant. On a drum set you can use either a two or three finger fulcrum, it doesn't mater which on you use because that's based on preference. Yes in marching band, while being on the battery you use the two finger fulcrum. If you are a mallet player tho, and playing a pitched percussion instrument, you will more likely to be using the three finger fulcrum. There's also no set thumb angel when playing on drum set. The "French", "German", and "American" thumb placement and wrist rotation is more important when playing pitched percussion, concert snare, or any of the marching drums.
If seeing how she's playing makes you cringe, or makes you feeling like you need to tell her she sucks and she's wrong, then I guess you've never been fully taught how to hold sticks whilst playing a percussion.

A grip is only wrong if you’re not getting enough rebound or if you’re feeling pain when playing. The grip that works for me does not have to work for others and vice versa.

I agree. She did a commendable job. Compared to some other vids I have seen this is head and shoulders above. Great for folks wanting to see what the rudiments are. My background is rudimental drumming and traditionally there are some differences to what she played BUT way better than someone hacking away professing to be some sort of expert. Nicely done. Good job!

She´s in between french and german. For this open handed grip she should widen it to full german. Other than that it´s very relaxed and very close to Weckl´s current grip. I´m not a rudimental drummer and her grip might be lacking as such, but as far as the drum set goes this works nicely.
