And Claire went on to have another food moment by vomiting in the bathroom at the Chinese buffet Roadblock in Hong Kong. She could not catch a break, lmao.
@@CatherineJessicaNatof For context, Rachel and Dave made it to the Finish Line first, however they skipped the 2nd roadblock on the way there. Meanwhile Art and JJ were at the 2nd Roadblock which Art had to do, but struggled so much at it. It involved sliding down a hill sled without falling mid way and both Rachels passed him even though Art did manage to pass the Rachel from Brenchel, but they couldn't catch up to Rachel and Dave and ended up in 2nd overall.
When I watched uchenna’s reaction to Joyce shaving her head, I cried. It was such a sweet & beautiful moment & just made it all that much more satisfying when they won. I didn’t know they got divorced though, that really saddens me
I know this is extremely late, but it's even more sad considering it's likely their infertility that caused issues in their marriage. They desperately wanted kids and were just unable to. I imagine that caused tension for them. I really hoped that after they won they would've used that money for fertility treatments and had children (they did try IVF after the race but it failed). I felt so bad for them knowing that was likely the issue in their marriage.
Oh lord yes. Agree about the "hard to watch" bit too. John was 100% focussed on his "plan" and wouldn't listen to Jessica. Not exactly a healthy dynamic between them. And another thing that's really, really hard to watch - Jonathan and Victoria from season 6. "Jaw-dropping" in the worst possible way. Spousal abuse on TV!
Not sure if it’s jaw dropping but there is one moment I will never forget. Season 5 when Colin and Christie are doing the plowing challenge. Christie won’t help guide the ox, for unknown reasons, and Colin gets so aggravated about the ox going where he doesn’t want it to that he yells “MY OX IS BROKEN”. One of the funniest moments in my books.
My two jaw dropping moments for different reasons 1. The shove on the way to the mat 2. Getting the cheese wheels down the hill. There’s a reason they brought it back
Just saw this comment - by #1 you mean Jonathan and Victoria, right? Yeah, that's a bad one. My reaction when those two got eliminated was "I hope she's ok" which is... maybe a sign that things are not healthy in that relationship, as portrayed on screen!
@@OnceUponAnIsland The last few legs of Amazing Race Israel 8 was taped during the peak of the pandemic. Amazing Race Australia 5 was done in late 2020. In 2021, Amazing Race Australia 6 was taped. In 2022 Amazing Race Australia 7 was taped. Not even the pandemic could stop their travel. This led to an odd moment in the Australian version where people were buying different tickets. Mid season, the "T-Section" was introduced as a twist. Teams in another international season were leaving as individuals again; and on the final leg, they were allowed use of public transportation again. Sadly, this led to a penalty; since one team got caught off guard.
When they brought back Mallory to partner with Mike in the All stars season and they leave the roadblock first, and then get eliminated because they forgot their bags.
With the watermelon one, it looks like it hit the lower forehead. That's a very strong bone and if I saw that right, she's very lucky it hit where it did. May have even avoided a concussion by it splattering on impact.
Surprisingly a watermelon is super weak for how solid it feels. If you were to drop one from your hip it would at least split open, so with the speed it’s going at in the sling, that just excentuates the weak fibers of the rind. Really lucky they were using watermelons instead of some other melon or squash or something like that
The most jaw-dropping thing that happened in any season of the Amazing Race is when Lucy/Emilia got arrested, detained and somehow survived leg. Actually, anything Lucy/Emilia did was jaw-dropping.
I don't normally use this stan term, but Lucy & Emilia mothered TAR Australia with that! I have so much respect and love for them, such an exciting and beautiful team inside and out!
Hmmm what about Swedish Roulette? The hay bale challenge where one team rolled out over a hundred bales without finding a single clue? Watching that - never mind doing it - was really, really hard. ...Although probably not as hard as Claire's face. (Sidenote: although Nat and Kat were absolutely deserving winners, a part of me was really rooting for Brooke and Claire that season. Ah well.)
I love having long hair so much but I would shave my head for $20K in an instant if I knew I was getting the money for sure. If I didn't know it was a sure thing, I would still consider it, especially if it was a wicked hot day lol. I'd love to see a video of 5 times The Amazing Race made us full-body laugh! Similar to the watermelon in the face moment, the cheese-rolling episode from season 14 lives rent-free in my mind because of how spectacularly bad every team was at it - just cheese wheels flyin' all over the place
If we're talking about jaw-dropping moments, I still think about how one team in Amazing Race season 2 was first place for nearly every leg of the season, but blew their lead spectacularly on the final leg. The biggest hit: they lost because it seemed to slip their mind that every final leg had a previous leg memorization challenge.
Always awesome to see your Amazing race vids! One of the moments that was definitely a jaw dropper was one of the teams stealing another team's cab. I can't remember the names or which season it was but I do remember is the stealing team bribed the cab driver with offering to pay them more. It was hard to watch and deeply disappointed with BOTH the team and cab driver.😤 The team that got robbed of their cab was a biracial couple, wife was a beauty queen(?) Idk if they're still together, but I admired them for supporting each other despite being looked down upon by some of their family for being a biracial couple, which was brought up briefly in the season. Once again, I can't remember any names(sorry) but it be interesting to know if they're still together or not?
That was painful to listen to (the whole thing). As soon as the episode was over, I found a YT video of the Irish Rovers singing that song, to get the TAR stuff out of my brain.
Volume 2 will start with what we're left. Bopper got medically cleared pre season 24. Then Brendan and Rachel, not having to shave head, got their very first first. But well, they still couldn't breakthrough their 3rd place finishes which lead us to Leo and Jamal who went fourth back to back...
And the country singers were still silly and fun, and Connor was still a cute amazing guy and Dave was insufferable ("you're blocking a 60 year old" cut to the multiple quotes of him saying "age is not a detriment" and them winning like 3 legs by that point). He was amazing in season 22 though and to me what he endured deserves to be in the next video. Which makes even more weird how he complained so much on 24. To me he was worst than Rachel that season.
#1 is by far THE highlight. Still remember watching it live. The part after where Brooke says to Claire… well you still gotta finish cuz we’re in a race, was pure gold!

If you gave anyone the money up front, it might be a different story. As its less of a pressured choice as they are actually guaranteed a prize. Otherwise all I can think about is those America’s next top model episodes were they essentially bullied women into drastically changing their looks. Knowing they were uncomfortable and that for some it would ruin their confidence. I know I’m thinking too much into this. Maybe some of my own past trauma is popping up. But it’s kinda an upsetting topic and to see people(mainly men) just brush it off as no big deal is just…

The couple winning after shaving her head, made my day. Was actually expecting them to be eliminated when I was watching it and it made me so sad. 😭 I get that they didn’t have the baby but if you can acknowledge their marriage is strained, you can acknowledge they aren’t in the position for that baby. The IVF may have failed. So many options, they hardly didn’t deserve their win. I get you’re mainly a survivor page but Rob and Amber aren’t royalty and they don’t deserve things just because people like them. 🤷♀️
There are so many Season 2- when Tara and will tried to lead the boys somewhere else and then the boys won. Season 8- the weavers having to go on the race track after we know what happened to their dad 5- my ox is broken 6- when the traffic blocker is pulled down and it hits Freddy on the head. And Freddy freaks out
The big problem with the head shaving task is it can be so much more easy for a guy to say it’s just hair, but for a lot of women it’s the one thing they love about themselves. And in a world where you are judged based on so many things, why would you take away that one thing you feel is your most beautiful feature. No not all men would say it’s just hair, and not all women will say no I’m keeping my hair, but the fact is that’s that only a decision you can make yourself. When hair is such a big part of your being, your culture, and especially your identity, you couldn’t put a $ amount on it. Can you buy an amazing wig for hundreds of dollars yes, but can you so easily buy that sense of beauty and self.

Wasn't there a season where the couple was about to finish in first place and get the million and the girl just couldn't bring herself to go down the steep water slide because of her fear of heights? I have to wonder if their relationship made it through because it was painful to watch, how her fear prevented her from winning the million dollars.
Yes but it was not the finale it was one of the middle legs. Season 15 Mika and Cannan. The globe trotters told her not to go down and passed them. Great moment
LOL I like Uchenna and Joyce too in this season, it's just a shame it didn't work out afterwards. One of my most disappointing Google searches in recent memory when I looked them up.
Honestly, having mostly African American hair I wouldn’t shave my head. When I cut my hair in 2015 to a shaved pixie cut, it took till 2021 for it to grow to my shoulders. $20,000 couldn’t make up for that. But I guess it could buy me a whole bunch of hats 🤔
I don't think the show should put people in that position where in order to win. They need to shave their head. And that 1 lady getting insulted because she felt insecure about it when people were already making fun of her looks that season for no reason. It's disgusting.
I know my opinion may be different than a majority group, but I hate the "4 teams racing to the finish line" structure of season 25 and 26. Kind of pointless and in fact, not trying to make the finale more competitive or sth.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA OMG. That was funny as hell. Im glad shes ok, i dont mean to laugh but come on that shit was to Acme bought shit right there. HAHAHAHA.
Shaving your head doesn't guarantee you'll win the million. And easy for a guy to say he would shave his already balding head. It can take 5 years to grow out long hair. Worst fast forward ever!

List does not contain any broken oxes.
List is invalid.
Hence why it is just volume 1
Idk if I consider all of these "jaw-dropping."
Please suggest some moments for volume 2 and I may include them :)
