    I'm very much enjoying my time with the game, but it''s more because, unlike those who have talked it up, I accept what the game is. It's a sci-fi exploration romance. I accept that what I do in this game is less of the bombastic, stunning, and exciting things that games like Star Citizen and others set out to do, and let myself enjoy what No Man's Sky is: A journey. It's all about getting to go places, see new things, and as you guys said, be the first (And possibly only) to see such things. And honestly, every time I fire up the game, because of that "Journey" aspect, I'm able to sink my time easily enough, simply making the trip, or facilitating the means to do so. That's the simple beauty of it.

      Agreed one cannot take this game too seriously because that's not how it's meant to be played/felt it's meant to be a casual survival and about enjoying the view

      I'm enjoying the hell out of this game, it's super interesting and only mildly frustrating lol because I refuse to buy into media hype over a goddamn video game! I watch gameplay, educate myself as to what it actually is not what fanboys think it's gonna be.

      Science Fiction, noun, fiction based on imagined future scientific or technological advances and major social or environmental changes, frequently portraying space or time travel and life on other planets.
      I believe the game meets that criteria my friend. Regardless of whether it is varied or not, it is definitely science fiction.

    The best tip for this game is Sprint, Melee then Jetpack for a sort of horizontal glide. Makes traversing terrain so much easier; be careful of your jetpack's fuel as you don't want to drop to your death.

      Also, when you get to an Atlas interface make sure you go around the landing platform and step on all the squares/walk through all the lights - you'll discover a few words and maybe a blueprint.

    I've got a good tip, especially if you plan on doing a lot of trading. When you first arrive in a star system go the space station and then go that space station's trade terminal. If you look through the items in the trade terminal the things that are the most valuable commodities in that system will be marked with a gold star on the right hand side.

    a good tip is to not stop mining as soon as you mine one resource. It takes a full percent for each time the mining is started up. hold off until right before it overheats

    Also, whenever you're interacting with an alien and need an inventory slot free, you could notice the trade network hub on the wall and sell something rather than just delete it. Just like the trade network hub on the wall at 17:25 on this video

    Great video guys! I love your work. I do have a tip actually, though it's more for money making than survival. I discovered just recently that every space station will have at least one high-demand item signified by a golden star in the top right hand corner of it's slot in the galactic trade terminal. These items can be sold for far more than they're usually worth and so I just go around the ships that land in the station, buy all of these items off of them and then sell those items back at the terminal for profit.
    A good example is one instance where I found a station that was buying Dynamic Resonators for double their usual price of ~27,000 units, meaning that I could sell DRs to the terminal for ~53,000 units. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART was that I could buy DRs from incoming ships for only ~30,000 units, which meant that I was making ~20,000 units on every transaction. Within ten minutes I had over 2,000,000 units and used them to purchase a brand new ship.

    A note on the signal scanners. You can use them multiple times. Make a few "bypass chips" and use them all on the same one. That way you can get a few discovery blips to go see before you try to find another signal scanner.

    i have found that beacons show transmission towers more then crashed ships, a solid way to find crashed ships is at obseratorys and terminals that have a code you have to figure out which is a math question not a randon answer mostly patterns and stuff and there arent alot of them coz i have come across the same question 5 times in different terminals and you only have to get the launch thruster online for it to be operational and even if the lauch thruster isn't working it will land on a landing pad with the bypass chip

    Great video. I found it spoiler free on my part, even though I haven't started playing yet. Waiting on the mailman! But more I see and learn about it, both from positive and negative persons, I love it even more. Can't wait to start my adventure. It seems, trhourh watching streams and reading reviews, that the faster you move through the 'verse, the less fun you have. Take your time, explore the planets and have fun. As I said, I can't wait to begin my adventure.

  • @shiva369

    There's a nice exploit where you find a Gek (the little googly eyed guys) system, use one of the orange beacons to find a Transmission Tower via the Transmission search. Go there, solve the puzzle and a Distress Signal appears somewhere nearby, which is a crashed ship. The thing is, you can keep spamming the puzzle with the same answer (which you can't do with the other factions' Transmission Towers) and generate dozens of crashed ships in one go. Each ship has a chance of being a level above or below your current ship, so you can quickly upgrade to max 48 slots. Also, by taking over and dismantling ships you don't want, then re-taking your previous ship, you'll generate tons of stuff to sell and upgrade with, like they mention here. The only other thing you need is to find drop pods to buy extra Exosuit slots.

    Individual trader markets are different from the main one, so you can hang at the space station and buy elements from the traders as they land and resell them specifically sell the ones with stars on the trade market because their value is doubled

    with feeding the animals, they have a smiley face above them and they dig for resources, which is pretty cool. so when you feed an animal just wait and they'll either resources or dig for them. when they dig a red rock pops up and its just a random element.

    A tip I learned, use melee (R1) and then your jetpack (X) just after you can speed across the landscape a lot quicker than walking or running. If you start running first (RS click) it's even more. Of course be careful you don't go too high or over a cliff

    Their closing point ~ "Can't think of any other games like that." Elite: Dangerous is like that and is actually interactive multiplayer. That game's universe is so large that there is a very likely possibility that other players won't experience exploring the same worlds and stellar systems that you do. However, everyone starts in human colonized space near each other, so it's very likely you will come across someone else.

    So a couple of questions that I'm hoping someone can help me with...Do only certain Multi-Tools do certain type of damage? LIke, I have a multi-tool that seems to only do the mining laser beam, but when I craft any type of bolt caster stuff, my multi-tool stays as a mining beam. Do I have to get a completely different multi-tool that only shoots bolt casters? Also, Does anybody have the problem of picking up a module with a perk and you go into your inventory to see if you can craft it and you can't find the module in your inventory?? Sorry if these are noob questions...but thank you for your help!

    48 is the max on your Exosuit slots. If you have an Atlas Pass level 1 or higher you can access the other door at the space station for Exosuit stations as well. Don't waste your money on a new ship. Run down all the signals you find and you will eventually find the ship you want. Save your money for later when you run into the 40 slot ship and they want 50,000,000 units for it.

    Top tip: don't go into a cave system and run around thinking it will be small and easy to get out. I spent 3 hours stuck inside a cave!
    Same goes with flooded caves... I drowned after an hour of struggling for an exit and air. (Note there is an upgrade later for water exploration).
    Finally, remember when collecting elements that in your suit inventory the slot will hold 250 but in your ship one slot can hold 500.

  • @DEADaaron2
    @DEADaaron2 8 років тому

    Your ships gets twice the stack size for materials like you can hold 250 of something before it makes a new stack and your ship holds 500.
    Most of the crafting recipes like that resonator you're better off buying it out right from the global market since it's usually cheaper then buying the material/ more efficient then taking the time to mine all the stuff to save 2k units from you could have got from just selling the items to make it.
    Grey chest icons you see after a scan are the rare mineral for that planet like gold and give you far larger amount of it than mining those giant chunks.

    Back your save up, A LOT. USB or Cloud.
    Even then if you get a few crashes there's a chance that saves getting gradually more corrupted anyway, but if (and when) the game has a hard crash, it will delete your save.
    Also, note that your scanner won't mark every resource on a planets surface, there are some things (Like Albumen Pearls)that sit inside egg sacs you have to walk up to and hit square to interact with.
    Soon as you nab one it'll be a lvl sentinel alert, but there are sometimes cave systems FULL of these things and you can sell them for 25 to 30 K each. The game won't penalise you for grabbing multiples so ride out that alarm and fill your boots.

  • @chadbrown4759
    @chadbrown4759 8 років тому

    The ship inventory slots hold twice as much as your suit. This helps with mining, so if you transfer two stacks of an element to your ship it will only take up one slot. I'm not sure that they mentioned this.

    • @chadbrown4759
      @chadbrown4759 8 років тому

      Also while mining if you release the trigger and start firing again it will instantly cool completely, assuming you don't overheat. You don't have to wait for the cool down. this allows you to mine with only a brief pause and no cooldown. I think it's a glitcn, but it makes mining much less tedious.

    Gold sells pretty well and is fairly abundant. It's good for farming up units and for a few patterns that I've seen thus far. I'd wait to really start trying to farm for units until you have 25-30 personal bag space. I made about a million credits in an hour and a half from gold. (I have 43 slots and 9 upgrades for my multitool just for mining)

    • @kazzoman86

      Also, as far as I can tell, the better ship you have, the better ships you find or have available to buy. Can't confirm, but it would be a huge coincidence if that isn't how it works.

    Use your Atlas v1 pass in space stations on the left door. 100% chance of upgrade from my experience. And finding the Atlas gives you two warp fuels each time. So it's worth upgrading your warp engines to get to each one faster to refuel faster. Though finding vapor and antimatter is easy if you use your pass on checkpoint debris. Almost always gives you fuel components.

    To be honest, I am waiting for patches that can create players being leaders of a planet or system, establishing an interstellar economy between planets and systems.
    And of course more military presence that one person (or group/alliance) can build an army to explore hostile worlds or even alien ones. Plus maybe even conquer already inhabited worlds.

    The more dangerous the planet, whether it's weather wise or just overly hostile sentinels that attack on sight, the better chances there are that there's rare resources there. They show up when scanning as big green exclamation marks. I found a planet with really hostile sentinels and the temperatures reached 130 degrees Celsius, and the whole planet was littered with Gravitino Balls, which sells for about 26,000 per ball. Within about an hour I saved up about 8 million units so far.

    Good tip that the game doesn't mention is that if you put mods in a slot adjacent to the item it is modding, you get a bonus, also mods stack and chain. SO put a mining laser mod in the slot next to the mining laser, and another one next to that and so on, for stacking bonuses...

    TIP: Build the same types of upgrades next to each other in the inventorys. You will get bigger bonuses E.g. build boltcaster upgrades next each other and next to the boltcaster icon. They didn't meantion this in the video.

    Mining gold can be beneficial. I made around 3mil units off selling gold and emeril (and uploading the complete records of the planets during the process for the extra 250k) and had bought a pretty nice ship all before leaving my first system.

      Also, if you're in a harsh environment and your hazard protection is running low, instead of using resources to recharge it you can mine a hole into the gold mound (or whatever element it is) and step into it. The makeshift shelter will give your suit a chance to replenish without the use of resources.

    Also, something that took me a little longer than it should have to realise, your ship can hold double of an element per slot, in case you're stocking up on a certain mineral

    Feeding creatures will get them to dig up rare elements. Landing on landing pads link your ship to the trade terminals and removes the take off cost.

    If you see emeril, mine it. Mining a whole emeril depository (about 2 slots in your inventory worth) can get you nearly 250,000 Units with a galactic average of about +1.0

    get grenades for the multi tool for harsh environment you can shoot into the ground giving you a place the the planetary hazard will stabilize... especially useful to wait out storms that can drain the suit in seconds

    life pods! they hold slots for your suit ! bypass chip / search, shelter, good chance. Cruise dangerous planets low as possible good speed, life pods render early so easy to spot ( found 6 in one planet). so far 34 slots in suit . upgrade placement is key ! keep like connected . example, connect all pulse upgrades for massive bonus. lighted highlight.

    if you transfer a stack of resources from your suit to your ship, the stack increases. in your suit you can hold 250 a stack but in your ship you can stack 500

    I found an amzing planet. No radiation, toxic, heat or cold. Pretty chill sentinels. No wildlife whatsoever. Loads and loads of emeril. And it's right next to the space station. The perfect place for grinding units.

    I think your tip on not mining every resource is good but your example about gold is wrong. Gold is one of the most profitable elements to sell. Gather as much as you can and sell it whenever you come across a trade post. When talking about hacking the signal scanners you didn't mention the shelter option. It has a chance of being a drop pod.
