Ideal video for me. Recently got a young children's python which attacks me regularly, will continue to regularly handle him to calm him down. Thanks for the videos 👍
We have 4 snakes, a boa, royal python, Cali king & a western Hognose... My 8 year old was tagged by our cali on Sunday when he was holding him. He said it didn't hurt at all, it was just the "shock". He carried on handling him until I'd finished cleaning the viv.
That's why I bought my aberrant male Cali kingsnake as a baby. So he gets used to me on a very young age. He's only 3months and not scared at all. In the beginning there was tail rattling. But now he's super calm and likes to explore. I take mine out every day for a couple of minutes like 10 to 15min or so.
Fab video Chaz... I have a Rainbow Boa who would always grumble and play up when he thought there was a handling session coming up but with time, consistency, and patience he has become a lovely tame boy
Great video , will hopefully keep nervous new keepers , in check , that they won’t need a paramedic, or life saving operation, mind you I wouldn’t fancy this nervous attitude off a fully grown berm or retic , I’d need spare pants ,, l o l , cheers shane uk 🇬🇧 😊
Thank you so much, I just got a woma python that had been sitting in a reptile store for sale his whole life - over 3 years! Because no one ‘wanted him because he’s too aggressive’. Just the video I needed to watch :)
Lori Torini has made numerous videos on UA-cam about acclimating snakes to coming out of their enclosures, and using "target training". She is doing amazing work. My own approach is just leaving my snakes alone, keeping their vivs clean, and leaving them be, and monitoring temps and humidity using the excellent SensorPush system.
Hey Chaz! I've kept a corn and a bearded dragon almost 15 years ago now, I'm finally in a place where I can start to keep again so you could say I'm very rusty/beginner, now in terms of handling my snake he is not defensive/aggressive but he is very flighty when I enter the viv yet if I open the door and wait for him to come out he will do so quite happily. Is there a way to help flighty behaviour or is it a case of time and perseverance?.......I think I know the answer and thankyou for everything you have unknowingly taught me through this channel.
Great advice mate that's exactly what I do with my cranky pythons, let them smell your skin...No gloves and stay calm, you'er gonna get bitten it's the nature of the beast, the more you handle them MOST will eventually come around...Even Scrubbies :) . From Down under.
Great vid. What would your advice be for baby snakes. I have a tiddler off a hognose and shes very anxious. I'm not worried about her biting but more her hurting herself when she gets panicky. I find biggers snakes so much easier there just less fiddly.

Perfect Chaz!

Thanks for another great video. Beautiful snake!
Well done.
Not sure these rules apply to amazon tree boas....
the amazons here arent hard to hold, their aim is crap for the the most part.
Love it
