Willdora - pre D Day Anniversary Shakedown

Willdora has a shakedown to ensure everything is ship shape prior to joining the 80th Anniversary D Day celebrations at South Shields on 6th June 2024. Unfortunately the day before the event, the weather forecast forced the cancellation due to high winds expected. Everything on the shakedown went very well, with only one or two minor glitches. So until the next opportunity she returns to the South Dock. Video made on 3rd June 2024 with welcome footage recorded by Martin Wilson with his drone, Jim Sullivan and Lynne Holman with mobile phones.
The second track of music used, was from
“The Onedin Line” a British television drama series that aired from 1971 to 1980. The show required various sailing ships to authentically depict the period, and Willdora was one of the vessels featured in the series.
This is a charity run 100% by volunteers with the aim of preserving our local maritime heritage.
