It’s Thursday.. it’s time for Dads weekly upload. I don’t know how you taught that young lady so quick but judging by the quality she came out with she’s a great future thanks to you 🤘 keep doing what you do
👏👏👏👏 Well done always good to pass on knowledge and to learn from someone with your talent for the hobby is priceless ,Looks like they both came out awesome well done 👍👍👍👍thanks enjoyed by the way I am sure they jumped at the opportunity you gave them I know I would have .
Thanks for a awesome video,. Must say that awesome that you share your professional skills and give back to the community. Super awesome to you and high five.
Mate I really enjoyed watching this and the story behind it. Your student did an excellent job, probably due to her excellent tutor. Maybe you could do workshops, you know, when you’re bored and have nothing to do (joke- I know, not funny!) Anyway, I now know to keep every bit of paper if I send anything abroad. Thanks dad
Sucks what happened, been there, its cool you made the opportunity for someone to work with you and learn. Hands on experience from an expert is really cool!
Dear Ground effect guy Thanks for this second video on Harley Quinn, very useful as usual. I have print my with the VX labs file , taking the 1/6 scale and upgrade to 130% I have print with polysmooth on my Raise 3D pro 3+ and it look very nice Now I will try to paint like you Thanks again for your Chanel, my favorite. Happy Xmas from Paris
amazing job on both. hard to tell which one you painted and which your assistant painted. looks like a solid candidate for an apprentice. been there with the shipping issues too. one of my first commissions over 10 years ago, i forgot to insure and it ended up getting lost... i had to repurchase and repaint $500 worth of Infinity miniatures for a customer. it's a hard lesson, but it's one you never forget.
Sorry, too, about the experience. But beautiful recovery, man. Hey, did you guys mean to spell Goodnight wrong on the bat? Seeing it at the 5:48 sec mark. Love what you do.
Did you create the misspelt decals yourself? If you did would you mind sharing them with your Patreons? I have that model to paint after seeing the original video and the decals would be really handy.
It is absurd to me that these companies don't have some sort of digital receipts. Don't die dad. Also painting those fishnets seems madness inducing. What was the showcase song?
Hermosas figuras. Que bueno que tienes una pupila aprendiz.quedaaron fantásticas. Lastima lo de la paquetería...así también me pasó con un vehículo de Starwars. ....oye buena idea ojalá puedas hacer un proyecto de Biker scout hembra con su speeder
Great video Brent. Your new assistant is already way better than me. Typical of the shipping company to wriggle out of paying out, you've paid insurance and they should have a record of that. Can you get any advice from Citizens Advice about whether you could pursue a claim through the small claims court? P.S.Have you ever thought about offering day courses on figure painting? I'd sure pay for it.
@@Groundeffectedtaking photos is very important. It just saved me from a ebay purchase. Some dude created an account and bought one of my listings same day. Messaged him about everything and took photos of the packed box. Tracking showed the address incorrect so when I sent him pics of his address in the system and the pic with the packed box with the same address asking what's up, I never heard from him and it's been a month nor has the package been returned. Pretty sure I tossed a wrench into his scam so he didn't pursue trying to get his money back.
@@Groundeffected In all fairness you were in a hurry as well as teaching someone. The fact you left it in the video is great because as a fan of your work and with all the beginners who watch it's refreshing to see that even the best artists can still make mistakes!
So sorry to hear that. Unfortunately this isnt the first horrorstory from Parcelforce. When I shipped from Germany to Canada they charged me retroactively twice the shipping because my parcel measured 15,1cm when it should have been 15cm. This was bullshit of course because I ship in 14cm boxes only but they qould only reimburse the stolen money if I could provide pictures of the original parcel on a ruler... This thought me an important lesson about managing rights in my paypal ... and that parcelforce is a scam.
Dude I can so relate to this shipping drama. Before I started 3d printing I was doing repaints on figures and there was these awesome 4 foot ninja turtles. So I would buy them and throw clay on em, remold em, add accessories and the like and just make em look really dope. I ordered 2 from someone online for a customer. The person shipped them fed-ex. 2 big 5 foot boxes. Over a year of drama just like you mentioned and the end result was ‘one was lost and the other was damaged so they had to toss it’. What the fuck is that?! Why is it their choice to toss it? What if I could work around the damage?! And then one being lost? How the fuck do you lose a goddamn 5 foot box? Jesus, 🤦♀️
I think you stumbled on a new way to pay bills and keep the family alive. Teaching classes for a small fee would be great. I would jump at chance to learn like that with proper tools and whatnot.
Childish of me, but it's super funny to me that as soon as you said "but" at the 12 second mark the statue is turned around and we see Harley Quinn's butt.
Dude, I effing HATE when this shit happens. I hate it. It has happened twice. I have learned that sending assembled models is stupid. Magnet install is a must. People hate having to glue the model. It looks unprofessional. NEVER DON'T close drainage holes. People will suffer from myocarditis if you do not close drainage holes and paint them... as if they were never there. NEVER DON'T paint a key or something you will never see. Oh, and be sure to paint little smiley faces on the magnets.
Great vid bro, you are probably the best person to teach our wonderful hobby :) well done and once again 1st class :) oh! is it me or is the wording on the baseball bat spelt wrong lol.
Can I ask how much resin goes into a model like this? I understand it's hollow but I don't have a clue how many bottles you need to buy? Many thanks and well done 👌👌
What a fucked up crap, mate, so sorry for all this mess you went through. You dedicated several hours to MAKE ART and then they just lose the package and f u for not keeping a paper? On the other hand, great initiative on bringing people to learn your techniques, I would definitely pay for a "live" training course experience if I were to live nearby!
ua-cam.com/video/4GfjXf-QH_c/v-deo.htmlsi=2HiO3nEVmbJziG3X nope. I already done this one this is as far as I got in time for this video after spending 3 days teaching someone how to do it.
It’s Thursday.. it’s time for Dads weekly upload. I don’t know how you taught that young lady so quick but judging by the quality she came out with she’s a great future thanks to you 🤘 keep doing what you do
WOW!!! If that was her first time painting, two things.... 1) You are a great teacher. 2) I could not tell the difference between the two statues.
Thank you so much!
to have had the opportunity for a mentor to learn when I was young, so awesome to hear you enjoyed being the mentor!
Thanks for all the free information and amazing content and for doing a very cool thing of teaching that young lady more skills.
Thank you for watching my channel !
She did well. Another few models and you have some serious competition!
Wow, Harley Quinn looks so ...TASTY!!!
Shout out for sharing the knowledge! Too many ppl dont want to share knowledge!! 🤙🏼
Great job mentoring. She did awesome if that was her first time. I still have a lot to learn still after a year.
Those look amazing!!!
I think you’ve made me see double…good show!
Great work! Have you thought about doing a series of videos on how to paint models? Or doing it through a Patreon?
👏👏👏👏 Well done always good to pass on knowledge and to learn from someone with your talent for the hobby is priceless ,Looks like they both came out awesome well done 👍👍👍👍thanks enjoyed by the way I am sure they jumped at the opportunity you gave them I know I would have .

Glad to see you out here teaching in person maybe that young lady will continue on from your teaching.
"And if I die, there's no more art"... There are no words my dude 😂
Wow! You're such a good teacher. Looks great.
That is a great talent there. Hope she sticks with it.
Awesome teaching and result, mate!!
F***ing AWESOME!
How did you do the nylon pants? Was the black dry brushed?
The silver lining: thank to this video I've learned that you take custom orders and hope to place one soon ❤
2× great job! Well done

Haha she’s gonna love it!
Thanks for sharing these life lessons. PS: The Mini looks awesome!

Love every bit and word of this video, just agree with everything you say 💪🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I loved Super Troopers...
Dang dude! I would 100% sign up for your master class 😂
dad your apprentice killed it
Sorry, too, about the experience. But beautiful recovery, man. Hey, did you guys mean to spell Goodnight wrong on the bat? Seeing it at the 5:48 sec mark. Love what you do.
Ah dude. Yea we are both English speaking and none of us picked it up. Lol. It’s cool easy fix though.
Did you create the misspelt decals yourself? If you did would you mind sharing them with your Patreons? I have that model to paint after seeing the original video and the decals would be really handy.
Yea I got to fix it and when I do I’ll share them dude!!
Maybe share the hobby with the lady some more and paint tyranids together?
I'm sure she'd be a wonderful new Norn Queen.
Thanks for the video!
How did you do the fishnets !?!?!?!
Man I'd love to have been a fly on that 3 day wall.
If that young lady you teach goes the career route, will she have her own content creation videos where she starts the vid "my name is Your Mom"?
I need this course!!
I need a tutorial to learn to do the stickers for my minis!
Epic man professional as fuck amazing
It is absurd to me that these companies don't have some sort of digital receipts. Don't die dad.

Did you mention how you made the transfers for the tattoos and the bat?
well done
"blinding my light with the eyes of the Patreon" 🤣
Hi did you do the base at 0.05 or 0.1mm. ?
Dude could you please link me to the decals for the bat if possible 🙏
Sooo like fishnets we all like them but…. how you paint them?
Too bad what happen to you, but it's a lesson to learn for everyone. Awesome job as always, nice video and hello from France =)
Yes indeed. Keep everything take photos and make records because they will try do everything in their power not to pay you.

I desperately need to ask something... Why was night on the baseball bat spelt nigth? Is it a copyright thing or just bad decals?
I am an idiot lol. It was fixed later.

Hi Dad, great video, sorry about the lost model. In the positive training up an “apprentice” is the best.
Words in the word box for Dad.
Sorry to hear your mishap, but did another great work and your student also!

"Goodnight" Is spelt wrong on the bat!!! Oh No!!
I know…. 🤦♂️ what a dork
Very epic
Wait a minute... 1on1 coaching is an option? Great job on harley and teaching
I think you stumbled on a new way to pay bills and keep the family alive. Teaching classes for a small fee would be great. I would jump at chance to learn like that with proper tools and whatnot.
what scale was this printed at?
1/6th dude.
Idk harley quinn lore so maybe it's supposed to be spelled this way but goodnight is spelled goodnigth
Dude. I am such a shmuck hahaha 🤣 I am a painter not a writer I feel that is my excuse
@@Groundeffected It's still an incredible model! I think it gives it some character haha
Wish I could be in UK. I would pay for private lessons. :D
Just throwing this out there. Tutorials via Patreon for subscribers?
What's the showcase song dad??

Great stuff. Always enjoy your videos. Shame about the spelling on the baseball bat, though...

Insurance companies... Yeah.
Always, and I do mean FUCKING ALWAYS make photos, keep every receipt, even the tiniest shit WILL be used against you.
