For me... Spark on both the tip and shaft, and Empowerment for the grip. Maxed out it seems to proc every other, or every third swing. The best part, area of effect stunlock on everything that is swarming you. Even when spark doesn't proc, the added damage of empowerment will go toward killing the bad guys very quickly. When I play through dying light 2, these are the modifications I start up the game with, and the modifications I end the game with. Biggest disadvantage, the lightning effect can prevent you from seeing things very well. Still 100% worth it though in my opinion.
I feel like Bleed has one good use: when it's paired with Toxic mods like Venom or Acid. The high damage over time is pretty good for weakening bigger foes like Demolishers and Goons, but I still wish the devs would add a little something extra to Bleed to make Slit and Slaughter enticing for new/veteran players. My favorites have to be Blaze, Puff, and Fling. Impact mods were always a highlight of games like DI and DL to me, especially 'cause of the glee that ensues with launching Infected off a rooftop, into walls, into *more* Infected, or into nearby hazards. Just curious, what about electric for the tip to stun then and toxic for the what? Or the other way around? That way you can do both electric and toxic damage while they can't move from being stunned? Toxic does about 400 total damage at max, right? Combine that with electric at max and you've got a powerful combo. At least the way i understand it. Though, given how the multi ice and multi toxic look very similar, makes me wonder if they're meant to pair?
NO. the effect is not duplicateed so you just get the same effect and waste a mod slot. It's been tested. I am not sure if the crit adds though. So it might help crit numbers but that's it. Run 2 different effects so you can get the effects of both. I used to run lightning and blast but I'm liking lightning and acid. Frost is ok but I just did t have it proc as much as the other 2 .
The real question is; have they changed damage numbers not mattering in higher difficulties? They legitimately had damage caps on how much damage a weapon could even do to an enemy on a single hit in hard/nightmare.
