CANNOT REMEMBER HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE WATCHED THIS SHOW AND ALL THE REST OF DEANS GREAT SHOWS. I AM 85 YEARS OLD, SO IAN KEEP THEM COMING, I WILL NEVER STOP WATCHING UNTIL I AM UP THERE WITH DEAN. THE BEST NIGHT CAPS I CAN HAVE BEFORE BED TIME.. GREAT STUFF........
At 10:03 is Dean's first show Sept. 16, 1965, which I saw as a kid when it first aired. But, it was originally in stunning monochrome lol. I have to admit they did a wonderful job colorizing it. We use to watch 'TDMS' every week as a family, Pop would get himself a frosty mug of Michelob, a sandwich and away we went! I miss Dean so much, nothing like him today!
Ha ha ha ha ha Jimmy Stewart is hilarious in this and I loved how he jumped up to get on the Piano just like Deano, and I'm loving it. Thank You.❤️🥰😍🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I cannot stop watching all Dean Martin Shows. Here we have the most complete performer of all time. He is so natural in everything he does. As Greg says, what you see you get. He does not have to act because he is a natural man. He shows all his natural feelings throughout his shows. He exposes every feeling of a happy and most contented human, thus making us all feel good all the time. At 84 years old, when I watch his shows I still get the same feelings he portrays in his performances. RIP DEAN..... heaven must be a greatly happier place with your presence there.................
Même dieu si il existe. Doit aimer Dean si naturel humain égal dans la vie com sur scène merci de nous avoir donne un être aussi unique 😍😍😍😂😂😂😷😷😷😷👍👍👍💋💋💋
Year 2023, Dean Martin Shows is still entertaining and continuing to bring laughter and joys to many people/fans around the world. Wonderful. Dean Martin, with his celebrity guests must have done something very right/special, back then. RIP All the greats. They’ll always be remembered. (Edit: The v last part of this episode is very beautiful. I’m speechless.) Thank you.
Larry Jung It certainly was. And Mr Welles also performed a couple of Shakespeare speeches on other episodes of Deans show. And I think that probably made this show unique among all the other variety programmes of the time. I doubt if any of the other stars ever had such serious segments amongst all the usual singing, dancing and comedy sketches. And they seemed to be popular with the viewers, because in his introduction to Orsons second Shakespeare speech Dean said that it was by popular request, because they had never had so many letters asking for more after his first performance on a previous episode.
the dancer here [ The Step Brothers] was on the old Colgate comedy Hour, so I have seen Dean and Jerry both keep up with them. love Dean dancing cause he didn't mess around when he was dancing. He can do anything things this show call on him to do.
Toni Wilson I agree with you, he was a good dancer, but my favourite part was at the end where he collapsed on the couch and said "Now let's look at a tired man, who has absolutely no self-control!" (Although Dean was a reasonably fit man, he must have been about 50 years old here in the late 1960s and he had, of course, been a heavy smoker all his life)
Dean was a great entertainer and was great to look at too. He made Ohio proud. He was from Stubenvile, Ohio. I was from Cincinnati. ohio and I lived in Long Beach California in 1973 when he was there also.
Love to hear Dean sing Turn To Me . He was good in any part he did on the show it was easy for him. There wasn't anything he couldn't do. He was great.9.1.2019.
You could see he got emotinal when he song after the remark he made over Jerry and the song also made him think about that time he got tears in his eyes. I love Dean and I Always will he was the BEST!! EVER!!!
Toni Wilson When Robert Mitchum came on just before that they talked about going down to Mexico to make a movie. I think that must have been the cowboy film Five Card Stud, which would have meant this clip was from 1968.
@@toniwilson1579 1968. Until the year before, that is, in 1966 and until the end of 1967, they were getting along again. Jerry had also gone to Dean's to offer condolences on his father's death. They kissed and hugged in Dean's dressing room. But at the end of 1967 Dean Martin attacks him again in the newspapers for no apparent reason. Jerry never attacked him in the papers.
Love seeing Flip Wilson. He did his bit about going to the dance. Lulu is the date. LuLu ran a red light. How much is a nothing ticket. You sitting there with a bag of lsd.
How sweet was it @41.44 when Dean stopped the show to announce that the young girl was getting married? It just shows what a family atmosphere there must have been on the show, especially when all the other girls crowded round and we saw a brief glimpse behind the cameras.
Love to see Dean having fun he said he had no self control. He dose his ironing while the Guiding Light was on so he made his own strach. He was funny. They were having fun.
"If Jerry ever walks through there I am quieting." gotta love that line! Wish they had done that. I wonder what Dean would have done if Jerry had pulled that. From what I understand Jerry did show up a few times. Too bad he never made it on the show. It would have been golden.
It never happened on his show but in 1976 he reverse the roll. It was Dean who walked out on Jerry telethon. Jerry had said that he would respect Dean. He would be there if he choose to have a reunion on Dean terms. Dean choose that time and instead of the closet he walk out on stage. It took place just as it should of... when both of them was ready for the meeting. It was a wonderful thing to see it happen when it finally did happen.
I often ask myself what would have happened if Jerry came in through that door....now I know. Dean and the team would quit. :D Really? Jerry did show up a few times? Did they talk together?
Martin Lewis Jerry would have taken over the whole show, wrecked all the singing segments and caused chaos on the bandstand, just like he always did on the Colgate Comedy Hour. People forget just why Dean, as easygoing and laid-back as he was, was finally pushed to his limit with the whole situation, and just who it was who drove him to walk out on the partnership.
He had to bring up Jerry's name! He did it all the time, for seemingly no reason. I bet he was hoping Jerry was there behind that door instead! Among other things he only says "Jerry", it is impossible for the audience not to understand who he was talking about. Dean and Jerry could never be separated, they were one
Greg saying, that Dean played golf six days a week seems rather excessive....maybe, playing golf was a euphemism for playing something else. Come on, not even Jordan Spieth plays that much Golf, and he is a pro.
Karin Desmonds Dean did play a lot of golf. By all accounts many professional golfers of the time said that he was good enough to have been a professional himself if he had wanted to be. It was also suggested by some who knew his more quiet, insular side that it was a way for him to get away by himself with just one or two other players and escape the constant socialising of the show-business lifestyle.
Even the owner of Ciro’s (IIRC), in an interview, said Dean’s obsession was with golf-he’d rather do that than anything. (The interviewer pressed and asked if that meant it was more important to him than [s e x] and he said yes.)
Dean Martin only worked three hours a week for the Dean Martin Show. He never tried. Greg Garrisono replaced Dean Martin in rehearsals. The recording took place with large cue cards scattered throughout the studio. Dean Martin just read them.
ONJ badly mangled "If" by Bread. No relation to what Miss Bessie said. Have to agree with Sir Houseman on Welles...he was the asshat he was looking for until Robin Williams came along...paraphrased of course. Welles' last segment was all BS. Rousing, yes, true...as real as Charles Nelson Reilly having affair with Betty Grable. I'm Brown's great-niece. That song is far older than him, and the rest is no more than empty romance like Mick Jagger's dance moves. Dean Martin was in fact the real infinite deal...unfortunately, that doesn't mean everyone who appeared with him was. Most were, but not all, by far.
What a talent. His dancing was terrific
Dean Martin should have a 4th star of fame by being the most cool guest
I love how casual, loose meaning flexible, and so very cool Dean is! What a great all around guy!
OMG, DEAN's ONE OF A KIND SMOOTH VELVET VOICE REALLY SENDS ME.
Ken and Dean on the piano. Dean was the greatest for me. Love him to this day Though is no longer with use.

Oh God, I just Love Dean's sense of Funny Humor !!! It is so understated!!❤️🥰😍❤️❤️

The last segment with Orson Wells was powerful !.
Larry Jung It certainly was. And Mr Welles also performed a couple of Shakespeare speeches on other episodes of Deans show. I don't recall ever having seen him dance such an amazing routine. Wow, Dean could do anything! Loved him and still miss him.
the dancer here [ The Step Brothers] was on the old Colgate comedy Hour, so I have seen Dean and Jerry both keep up with them. love Dean dancing cause he didn't mess around when he was dancing. He can do anything things this show call on him to do.

I just wonder what year he made that comment about Jerry. Just wondering how close to the 1976 when the reunion did it take place.
