Nice to see a society actually erecting statues instead of the other way around. 🙂

It looks like Ukraine isn't in the cheap side, especially in restaurants, and it looks depressing. Serbia looks much better, good luck with your traveling 😘

During Summer holidays you may always expect long delays especially at the Hungarian-Serbian border and also from Serbia to Bulgaria and North Macedonia as many people migrate from the West towards Turkey and Greece and vice versa.

Yes i hope in few years when we join EU there will be no border check there, so EU border will move to Greece/Turkey.

The Boss cafe in Subotica is an unexpectedly classy place. We ate there once and although the place was packed the service and food was 5 star.

I am flying into Budapest next month and was curious about land border. Stayed in Subotica in November 2020 as weekend shutdowns were limiting indoor dining options. Stayed at Apartment Pia near town hall (owner only took cash payment), and could tell that it catered to a wedding clientele as it’s got a hair salon and bridal studio in the courtyard. The owner had a sailboat ⛵️ on Lake Palic which is easy tax ride. Vinarija Zvonko Bogdan is fancy winery nearby and it’s owned by same folks (German /Hungarian) that owns Boss Cafe. There’s a worrying problem with arsenic contamination in local lakes so open water swimming is discouraged. .

Is the food at cafes and restaurants cheaper in Serbia, or is it more economical in Lviv?

About the same. You can find cheaper places than where we go.
