Hello. Just yesterday I bought a Goldie & The Gingerbreads compilation, some 60 years after their first release. Hits or not, to have people (who weren’t even alive at the time of release) from a country other than the US listening to your music is quite an amazing feat, especially considering how much music has been made since then…thank you for the music, Ginger, your amazing contributions will live forever!!! Many thanks for this fascinating document!
It was interesting what she said about recording with Allen Toussaint and how mean he was to her. I still have that album, or the 8 track, 'Ain't No Backin' Up Now.'

Discovered Isis sixteen years ago. Bought the albums online; their self-titled debut is a masterpiece, Backin' Up is there as well.
