Cecilia Villar Eljuri: Full Life Interview
Got a crush on her when i was a teen.. she is still pretty
I met her at Pickathon, probably 2019. I gave her some mushrooms and we all had a fun night.
You know, Blondie and the Black Eyed Peas were considered punk back in their day. It's not about the clothes, or the style, or the way you speak. It's about fighting against a system that you disagree with.
Great interview. So interesting to finally learn so much about Zia and her experiences.
Always thought the lyrics in "Midlife crisis" by Faith No More said "- you're menstruating hard, bleeding enough for two.." and thought wow, guys who aren't uncomfortable with it, cool. (lol) Apropos menstruating/tampons.
Complicit in the exploitation and and SA of vulnerable women.
I can't believe she ever felt ugly. I've always had the biggest crush on Shirley. Still to this day. She is absolutely gorgeous!!
Good stuff 👍
Androgyny. Not seeing it. Lol
She knew what Neil was up to the whole time.
She seems very arrogant
How do you know? Did she complete the Scientology Personality Test? I hope that you aren't putting her down because she married Neil Gaiman and he left Scientology after having been an OT4. There is a difference between arrogance and self belief.
Jill seems so nice. Amazing interview. Thanks for doing this!
Amanda Ghislaine Palmer huh?
Great interview
Palmer looks like she is being deposed.
Definitely check out her Evangelista albums … the first one, Carla Bozulich - Evangelista, Hello Voyager, and Prince of Truth. I’ve never really dug In Animal Tongue. But those three, her Boy album, and her View from a Water track on the Book of Knots album Traineater. Oh man. OH MAN OH MAN. I like the Dandelions on Fire disc too but in a lesser way. Scarnella really has some goodies.
Temu Ghislaine
Great to know how she joined Hole
One of the most underrated singers in pop.
The constant acting is reminding me so much of Amber Heard. Brrr...
My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult Dirty Little Secrets
I f&cking love this interview SO MUCH. I have witnessed many artist/musician interviews over the decades from artists whose music I have enjoyed more than the Dandys, though I have been a semi-casual admirer of the Dandys for some time. I utilize hyperbole very seldom. That said... This might be my favorite interview of all from ANYONE. A moving discourse. The depth, eloquence, compassion, wisdom, humor... Zia is so introspective, honest, candid, self-aware, intellectual intelligence, emotional intelligence; the stories, stories of someone's experience humaning (yes, as a verb) at this time while in a popular rock band and the personal grounding that often entails, the endearing pride she demonstrates in raising her daughter... Too many glorious highlights to list here. Witnessing this discourse made my night handily, but the benefits - its energies - the inspiration, I can carry with me onward. Thank you Tanya for simply allowing Zia to express at her own pace and degree, not interrupting, and so on. 💚
Alice!!!!!!!!! Great piece..
Much love my friend you're looking great you're looking great and I'm really proud of you for all the stuff you've been doing I mean it's amazing I'm really glad to have you in the resistance
The interviewer continuously saying “ummm” would drive me nuts, just like that smoke alarm, but she is super sweet to sit there through it. She’s just adorable and clearly a sweet, down to earth human being ❤
I love Deadmoon. For me its the greatest band in the world. Toody you are true legend And I miss going to See you and the band live. All the best from sweden
I love her kind soul and wisdom❤ & I love to hear her sing!! She would be an awesome person to meet and to have known! ❤❤
I got to see Brenda Lee several Saturday mornings when she performed in Augusta, Ga. She was always sweet and friendly and I enjoyed sitting and talking with her between her songs on the radio show. I was so happy for her but heartbroken to see her go. She looked like a princess the last time I saw her at the channel 6 tv station, after she had performed on the Perry Como show.
I am very impressed with Brenda's wisdom and intelligence. What a great lady with one of the great voices. I was so glad she finally was inducted in the Rock Hall of Fame. I hope young people who want to be in the business take her words to heart.
I’m glad Alice found solid work after her band was over. She getting an addiction to Koke Kain is not good. Seems like she is doing well a days
Jean gives a very good interview. The questions asked by the interviewer were well planned and covered a good deal more than others. She’s an intelligent lady who speaks her mind effectively.
yeah.. she was looking good in the vids i watched.. i was immediately drawn to her, out of them all.. it was a talented group, but i didnt know of them until i went searching to find out who the female was singing in elos livin thing song.. which was quadro, which led me to fanny
recorded in 2016 - yeah scary
Are those real chiclets? Dang!!
Just a nice bit of trivia, she said feed sacks but sure she meant flour sacks. Back in the day the flour companies knew people could reuse the fabric so some companies put nice patterns on them. Some also just instead put dyes in them that could be washed out.
Change the battery in the smoke alarm
Why so beautiful
Nice interview, but it look like they kept this beautiful star hidden!!!
What a breath of fresh air. Very perceptive woman.
Did they ever do sex stuff to each other? On or off stage? Thank you... i enjoy your music
I've admired this lady most of my life, but this is the first interview I've ever seen of her. A very down-to-earth lady whose life has been anything but a tragedy. What I'm finding amazing is she never expected to get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...as huge a star as she was pre-Beatles.
I was named Brenda Lee after Ms. Brenda Lee! I have especially loved her songs!!!
Anyone else running around their house, looking for where the chirping is coming from?
Information about Brenda's incredible time period is disappearing as all the people her age die off. Everyone thought the Internet would preserve everything but everything is already disappearing from the Internet. Even this incredible interview will be gone within a decade.
Cool
Toody's laugh gives me life.
Rights and responsibilities. Bingo.
Cool lady with beautiful eyes. Thanks, Exene.

Grew up listening to Brenda’s music. That strength in her voice, was amazing. Such an inspiration! We are about the same age and to see her so strong, sharp and loving life is motivating. I am from Puerto Rico, moved to Illinois at the age of 15. The best way to perfection the English language was to immerse myself in the culture. To me, it was through music. Watching American Bandstand, Ed Sullivan show, comedy shows, Connie Francis, etc; listening to country music, and Christmas music helped me along the way. Brenda is part of my past and my present. “Rocking Around the Christmas tree”, and others became part of my vocabulary. Thanks for the contribution. Retired as a court interpreter/translator. Blessings and prosperity to you and your family. Aly from Arizona.
Shirley Manson is quite charming with the amazing voice, Scottish accent, and beauty of a redhead. That edge with Garbage is so good and was way ahead of its time 💪🏻
