I believe, from memory, that this is true. As a child growing up, I lived in an adjacent street in Hackney to where he lived but didn't know this until I was in my teens, given that he was ten years older than I was.
Bolan's ego was out of control by 1974, his original band had either been sacked or just walked away from him, and that includes his wife June Child and record producer Tony Visconti.

I love Marc Bolan but... this seems just a tacky (yes i know it was the 70s!) would be comeback. Theres a few new tunes but mostly it seems old T-rex hits redone rather badly..

Yes, it’s a far cry from T-Rex, but, as someone else said, I’m grateful that we have these shows. He had to camp it up for the kids. 💕💕
