    definitely the best cheat gainer tutorial on youtube

    So I used to have a gainer, and then I lost it. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. This video is awesome, you made the exact statement I needed: it's more of a swing than a jump. I used to have the move when I would swing it, but somehow I started trying to jump instead, and that's when I lost it. Thank you so much for this video. I know there are a million people making tricking tutorials, but I love yours the best because you always seem to phrase something in every video in a way that I haven't heard it before, and then it all clicks.

      HECK Yes! I'm so glad bro! Thank you for the kind words! I've worked with SO many different people, so I guess I just speak "coach" now haha.

    The kicking method is ingenious. Can't wait to try it. I'll be following your channel as I'm starting out dabbling in tricking. Thanks!

      Awesome! I'm so glad you liked it! I teach 6 days a week (before covid) so I have to come up with a variety of ways to teach everything since everyone learns differently!
      Sorry I didn't see this comment until now. I have my own personal plan for uploads, but let me know if there is anything specific you want to see!

    • @ZakFerguson
      @ZakFerguson  4 роки тому

      You've got to pull your head up when you are going to land. Are you spotting the ground? Once you spot, and you know you have "flipped" a bit, pull your head away from the ground using your lower back muscles. Send me a dm and video on IG at zf.tricks if you need more help because it's hard to tell without a video.

    • @ZakFerguson
      @ZakFerguson  4 роки тому +2

      Bro this was my same issue when I learned. The key is not even thinking of it like a backflip. I had a Gainer flash like... A year before I could slant/cheat lol. Even then it took me a long time to clean it up. Send me clips on Instagram if you want a direct critique.

    yo this video is actually so informative. If there's a similar kind of tutorial for btwist would be really reaaally helpful because most people are just gonna say its a bkick and twist but for me its kinda complicated imo for my body and its quite scary to do

      Kelim Thanks so much man! It's hard for my tutorials to not be long because I have a lot to say about every Trick because I coach this stuff every day.
      I'm currently doing weekly uploads and going down the Raiz path until probably sideswipe and then I will go on to Butterfly stuff since you are asking. I might throw in some bonus stuff here and there but that's the plan at least

    I have a pretty fine trickers aerial and a friend of mine said it would be good to learn the slant gainer with it, if i just do and aerial with the leg i swing would it turn to a slant gainer?

    • @ZakFerguson
      @ZakFerguson  2 роки тому

      Yes sort of. You want to swing in the opposite direction of your normal Aerial and once you get in the air, pull like an aerial.

    can you please delete the paranthesis around to the timestamps in the description? because youtube doesn't seem to pick up the chapters otherwise and they'd be quite handy for me when getting back to the video and skipping around to the right timestamps

      @@ZakFerguson Thanks a lot Zak. Very good to know. I like your useful classification of possible j-step setups (although I would not be able to guess the reason for this name). @@W-HealthPianoExercises Thanks so much I will! And that's so cool! Yeah chapel hill is about a 30min drive from me. The names are named by the first person to do it. Much like skating.
