you are the best. I referred to so many books and notes, but in just these two videos I can relate the products and have a mental chart to relate. i added the inhibitory drugs and other deficiencies in to remember them. Thanks a lot for this awesome video. i liked the way the simplicity in your method of teaching too. thank you :)
thank you very much for taking the time to teach us this - i'm sure you heard this way more than once but you beat my professor in teaching this pathway
You cant get more HGPRT unfortunately. Currently there is no medication which can give you more of the enzyme. But there are ways to reduce the attacks through medication and proper diet. Anti inflammatory meds help initially. If the problem persists then you needs medication such as probenecid which will flush out your uric acid. Allopurinol will decrease making of uric acid decreasing the symptoms. Drugs like colchicine will inhibit the WBC from coming close because they are responsible for causing inflammation; and inflammation cause pain. Hope this helps !!! Sorry you are suffering from it.
hgprtase is required to convert hypoxanthine to IMP and in case of hgprtase deficiency IMP is not formed ....so hgprtase deficiency would not lead to high levels of IMP but high levels of hypoxanthine and prpp whose phosphoribosyl unit is required during reaction with hypoxanthine ...therefore hypoxanthine would form high uric acid and prpp would form high levels of pyrimidine.......but IMP is not high..
your beautiful voice is a magic.cute teacher
