Yes, let the artist have artistic freedom, but that tattoo isn’t going on them it’s going on YOU! If you aren’t 100% happy, say something! If you’re paying such a big amount for something so permanent, don’t just let them put that on you out of fear of annoying them. A good artist will respect that you’re so choosy about what goes on your body. If a tattoo artist gets annoyed with you wanting a small detail changed then maybe you should see a different artist!
Yes, you should chose a different artist. People chose an artist because they like their style and trust them to create a design that you will love. If your style doesn't match the artist, find someone else. An artist will know what will look best and last over time. It may be a small detail but male a big difference to how the piece will heal and look over time.
Are you talking about #2? What they mean about not micro managing, or nit picky about details and making changes... is doing that AFTER the tattooer starts the tattoo. The reason they find that annoying is because all of that should have been discussed ahead of time and you shouldnt have given the go ahead unless you were happy with the design and were in agreement with what vision you had for it.
If you don't trust your artists work then you should get a different artist. A tattoo artist will also know how your tattoo will age and heal, and a lot of times, ppl's ideas simply won't work exactly as imagined due to the fact that skin as a medium is not like paper at all. If it's too small, it'll blow out and be hard to read, certain colors heal differently, etc.
Oh yea cause saying "you missed a spot" or "this line looks weird" and nit picking everything is super annoying and rude, let them do the fucking tattoo and if you want something fixed when its done then they can go back and do that

DO nitpick when you're getting a tattoo. And if the artist starts to get annoyed or sissy about it, don't do it at their place. You're paying for it and its gonna be on your body, so you better make sure it's up to your expectations 110%
Well you can but to a certain extent. They mean like telling the artist what the lines should looke like. How they should color it rather than picking a color scheme. Telling them that it needs more highlights. Especially if you are not an artist because MOST of the time the artist knows what's best. If you did the research on the artist and know they have good work, trust their judgment. Something of that sort, not like placement and if you noticed the spelling was wrong.
WickedlyDefiant the ink will look a little different after it heals so in the time of getting the tattoo you have to trust that the artist knows how to ink the skin in a way that it’ll look good after the healing process. i’ve seen many people get tattoos and it looks shitty when they first get it but once it heals it looks amazing, and vice vera. ofc you pick what you want and how you want it, but if you can’t trust your artist to that extent then you should either do more research on tattoos in general or find another artist to go to.
I disagree with the second one, I wish I had nitpicked more. Turns out I also disagree with a few more things. It’s YOUR tattoo, tell them whatever you feel you need to! You’re might turn out dissatisfied.
That One Shipper I agree. It’s going on your body forever. I’d rather nitpick and annoy the artist a little than to ignore it and end up wishing I said something
The point he was making was to pick an artist that does work you love so you will not have to nitpick. Picking a random artist and expecting them to be amazing at whatever you want will not pay off for you or the artist. Look at portfolios and pick the artists work that looks closest to what you are wanting
The point of the second one is that you shouldn't be nitpicking the artist's process _after_ the design is agreed on and the tattoo is already started. If you're still figuring out design, then _yes,_ do nitpick! It's going on your body forever! But after you say yes to the design and they're already adding ink to your skin, you shouldn't be telling them how to do their own process.
That is why you consult your artist if he asks you if the stencil looks ok an you say yes that’s all on you nitpick before everything is already stenciled in
#3 Dont be Disrespectful. Yeah, thats a good one to know. I was planning on getting a tattoo this weekend and had every intention of being a disrespectful douche. But thanks to this top pro tip, I'll be a decent human being instead.
Lol I'm sorry...but if definitely nit pick my tattoo if I don't like something...thats on my body...forever...so I'm gonna make sure it's exactly what I want. I respect my artist..i do but it's not going on my artist, it's going on me.
Point 2 was the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. You’re paying to get something permanently done to your body lol of course you want to make sure it’s looks like what you want it to look smh
Dexter Vargas the point is that you need to pick your artists because you love what they do not try and get them to tattoo something they do not like or tattoo in a style they do not tattoo in. This happens all the time. People come in and they love your work and what you do so much they don’t want anyone but you to do the tattoo even if it’s not even close to what your style is
i think by number 2, they mean don’t teach them how to do their job. like don’t show them places they’ve missed on the body, tell them how to tattoo something, etc.
+x Frieza x His art and style is amazing but the problem with his work is that it just won't last more than 2 years. He has a huge ego acts like his single needle work is magical and heals just like any other tattoo, but they heal very poorly and either blowout until they're unrecognisable or fade in a matter of months. He's just really misleading plus his minimum is astronomical (something like $200 from memory)
Point 2: They mean don't micro manage and having a comment and nitpick about everything. Think about your boss getting on your ass about everything you do. It gets annoying and eventually it gets to your head and then you get flustered. Obviously if it's not looking like the initial picture or stencil planned out say something but this is why you get to know your artists work and try to trust them, you picked that artist for a reason right!
I got another one to add to that list, #11- Don't Move While Getting A Tattoo. I only say that cuz I moved during my first tattoo. Surprisingly though it didn't mess up.
They only thing I do on this list is that I watch the artist work. For me some reason it helps with the pain if I can watch. It helps me with anticipating on where the pain is about to come. I try not to like stare stare the whole time but kindve like side-eye watch it lol.
I bet you Romeo has gotten tattoos under the influence. Instead of "don't throw up on your artist", you should have said "don't show up on an empty stomach". That sounded more like Romeo wanting to tell a story that he thinks is funny. Also you you forgot never get a girlfriend's or boyfriend's name tattooed on your body.
Electric_Eye Actually you can throw up on an empty stomach. It will just be more liquid. The reason to eat before going is to make sure your blood sugar levels are up. If your level gets too low you will pass out. Don't know why I got a notification for you replying to my comment and now I can't see it.
I don't get "don't copy someone's else's work thing. If you want certain design thing. Most of the time tattoo artist will trace it. Unless you tell them you can make it your own.
tbh if i was a tattoo artist id rather have a client come to me being too picky than not picky enough. don’t feel bad for being picky. you don’t want to be too laid back about it and the artist do something that was completely not what you envisioned at all
My most recent tattoo i brought 3 friends with me. But only because we were going to eat after. And 2 out of 3 ended up walking around the city for a little while while i got it done. But they cane back every now and then just to check in
You SHOULD nitpick. Be specific about what you want and make sure the artist knows exactly what you mean. After all, it is going on YOUR body permanently plus you're paying the artist for doing it.
I don't get to see my design until the day of my tattoo, I rarely change anything but as you said it's permanent duo if there a feral I feel like I can't live with I may ask for a small change. Usually I let my artists run with my ideas.
this was well done. i totally agree with these points especially the micromanaging. I've been tattooing for 8 years and thats one of my biggest pet peeves
Honestly, I don't respect you as a tattoo artist if you cant handle micromanaging on a tattoo that the customer has all the right to tweak to there liking then your a bad tattoo artist
Zoltan Ember they have the right to pick what they want just like I have the right to choose which projects I would like to undertake. if we aren’t on the same page and collaboratively creating then there’s no reason to move forward with one another. And as an artist who’s been in the Industry for almost a decade . I can tell you from professional experience no artist likes to be controlled thats why we make art for a living to begin with . it’s better to come in with a general idea and be willing to let your artist interpret that idea to the best of their art capabilities to produce a quality tattoo. Also not all ideas that clients have are even viable projects due to composition complications, structure, or improper color theory. Essentially a client is not a professional and there has to be a balance of input on the tattoo between client and artist to produce quality work.. I hope that gives a more in depth view of what I meant.

I feel like I support number 2. However I'm not sure on something. Initially I was going to get the winged foot tattoo to represent cross country. But after hearing that it would be rude I kind of like the idea of letting the artist use that design but get creative by expanding upon it. Would that be considered rude?

I fully agree with Roman on all points. I have a few tattoos and I always let me artist know more or less what I am looking for and he does the art work and then sends it to me. If I disagree on something I let him know but 99% of time his gets it perfect.
You don't need to nitpick if you have a great relationship with your artist and if you love their style. Give them a picture and your ideas. Always works for me. I only use a couple different artists. One more thing; I always slam on beer before. No biggie.
yes about the nitpicking or whatsoever - like “ not saying you want your tattoo a certain way cause it’s disrespectful “ i disagree this is gonna be PERMANENTLY on my body so i want it to be a specific way yk ? thats not being disrespectful it’s basically your job .. everybody uses the same ideas over & just recycles it .. there’s nothing wrong with that - that’s basically saying i know this is gonna be permanently on your body but i wanna do what i wanna do .. no , imma just go to someone else then .. NO that’s DISRESPECTFUL . & thats how you lose money .
NO DO NOT DO IT. I tattooed a guy a month ago who went into shock because he hadn't eaten all day. It was already 2pm, on top of that he had smoked some weed before and his body couldnt handle it. People really shouldn't act like this is a joke.
I had a long process with my tattoo artist (he worked near my job) and we had a lot of talks just communicating during breaks. I would say that it can help if it's a piece super deep and you don't know exactly what you want.
Alright for the second one though, it's my tattoo, it's gonna be on my body forever and so yeah I'm going to make sure it's what I want it to be. If I have ideas or you're doing something I don't like I'll let you know because it might be annoying but at the end of the day it's my tattoo.
just dont. the wrist is 99% of the time visable. you should start somewhere where a tshirt is covering the tattoo up. shoulder upperarm - thats the place i started and it was the least painful. i have a small tattoo on my lower arm which is partly covered up when i stand normally but i still got some "problems" at work with it. so unless you have a job where you absolutely can wear tattoos you should avoid visable spots
Kevin Fink I do work where tattoos are fine. And there is a serious reason why I plan to get the semi-colon. It’s a suicide awareness sign, and as someone who cuts and attempted suicide countless amounts of times, I want to get a semi-colon.
My dad was a alcoholic and drank through all his tats. His arms and hands are covered and they are all clear and look new at the age of 75 Also 3 on his chest
Question: what if a person wants to get a tattoo like on the side or under of there eyes? Does it hurt? And no I don’t mean getting concealer tattoo I mean an actual tattoo.
It's funny how they say "dont drink and ink" but most reputable shops, as a rule, won't even tattoo you if you came in drunk. Which would most likely get you turned down and losing your deposit. Smdh.
As freaking AWESOME as I think tattoos are I know I’m never going to get one because I’m to much of a baby when it comes to pain. And I suck at staying still
It's bad enough to bring someone with you, but the worst is when they ask if their friend can hold their hand whilst they're getting tattooed, it's like no I don't want someone in my tattoo space I need to concentrate, and you're an adult getting a tattoo, not giving birth, you don't need someone holding your hand!
I know it’s disrespectful to ask the artist to copy other people’s stuff but what if it’s something a family member or friend drew or wrote is that still the same thing?
I liked the video up until they said something I disagreed on. I disagree with (Don’t ask to copy someone else’s work). That’s how I was able find my tattoo idea. Finding two artworks online & putting those two art pieces together to create my tattoo idea. Something unique. It’s the customer/clients money & body so why would that be rude to ask the tattoo artist to create a tattoo idea that the customer is willing to get & willing to pay for? That just doesn’t make sense to me.
I have a question. I said it 4 times that I wanted a sleeve but what they doing is just doing small tattoo on my arm and over charging . should I just find someone else or kinda see this threw because I just don't know anymore.
i want to see more videos of you and romeo. he is a good artist and he seem so friendly. he havent posted any videos in a while so i wonder if he is doing ok.
#2-yeah, it's your art, but I'm the one that has to wear it on my skin for the rest of my life. I'm sure you're a super awesome artist, but there's enough terrible tattoos out there there that imma pay attention to what you're doing.
I'll give you your space to go away and work and come back with a tattoo, but if there is a small thing I don't like, then I'm absolutely going to point it out. You aren't just creating art, you are editing my person. This will permanently change the way I look until the day that I die (unless I get it covered or laser removed). So, I absolutely will be complaining about every flaw until it is 100% perfect in my eyes. Especially if it's a bigger piece that I'm paying hundreds for. If it's a small, gimmicky, minimum cost tattoo, then sure. I'll probably just tell you what I want and then accept the first iteration you give me, but anything more than that? Sorry, it has to be perfect.
So basically come in shut up sit down give the artist an idea of what u want. Pay them lots of money and then the artist will do it the way they want and u leave unhappy. What a joke

Svnflower Edits They can add more but they can’t remove anything. If I saw a tattoo artist doing something that I don’t like, I would say it before it’s too late. It’s your skin and you have all the rights to be picky
They should make a video of what artists shouldn’t do at their tattoo shops. Haven’t seen that one
& thats how you lose money .
his face at the end when she was telling us to like comment & subscribe 😭😭😭
Dude I'd plan my tattoo, set up an appointment, and come in baked cuz y not😂😂
Animalspirit 2128 saaame 😂
No don't do that. You'll pass out. Seriously hahahah I've done it. Lesson learned
NO DO NOT DO IT.
I tattooed a guy a month ago who went into shock because he hadn't eaten all day. It was already 2pm, on top of that he had smoked some weed before and his body couldnt handle it.
People really shouldn't act like this is a joke.
Smoking before makes it hurt more, smoke AND drink before, you’ll feel nothing.
fuckoff or so you won’t possibly pass out you could use numbing cream about 30-40 minutes before you get a tattoo and wOaH it won’t hurt as bad
Another thing: if the pain is overwhelming you dont be afraid to take a brake
cloe price don’t take a break it just delays the time just bite a towel lol
why would i not nit pick my design? its my tattoo, im not gunna let some dude in an alley tell me what he thinks should be on my body for my life
I wasn’t picky enough!!! So many things I’d change about my tattoos
I just realized that Romeo got a gold tat gun on his chain, that shit is 🔥🔥🔥
*tattoo machine.Guns kill people, machines create art ;)
Should you tel your tattoo artist the meaning when you tel him your idea
Anthony Botes yes
It depends on the tattoo
I had a long process with my tattoo artist (he worked near my job) and we had a lot of talks just communicating during breaks. I would say that it can help if it's a piece super deep and you don't know exactly what you want.
He is basically claiming the girl throwing up on him was a conscious decision. 😕
Alright for the second one though, it's my tattoo, it's gonna be on my body forever and so yeah I'm going to make sure it's what I want it to be. If I have ideas or you're doing something I don't like I'll let you know because it might be annoying but at the end of the day it's my tattoo.
What about having the whole Faze Clan in the tattoo shop
This girl smiled the whole time.
I plan on getting a couple tattoos. But the first one that I absolutely want first is a semi-colon on my left wrist. ❤️
just dont. the wrist is 99% of the time visable. you should start somewhere where a tshirt is covering the tattoo up. shoulder upperarm - thats the place i started and it was the least painful. i have a small tattoo on my lower arm which is partly covered up when i stand normally but i still got some "problems" at work with it. so unless you have a job where you absolutely can wear tattoos you should avoid visable spots
Kevin Fink I do work where tattoos are fine. And there is a serious reason why I plan to get the semi-colon. It’s a suicide awareness sign, and as someone who cuts and attempted suicide countless amounts of times, I want to get a semi-colon.
Damn a beast of a tattoo artist visiting the channel
🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 "dont nit pick" but lets youtubers take videos of themselves tattooing siblings.. yeah ok m8
did they say "eat on a full stomach"? lol
My dad was a alcoholic and drank through all his tats. His arms and hands are covered and they are all clear and look new at the age of 75
Also 3 on his chest
How many times are you gonna upload the same video
Question: what if a person wants to get a tattoo like on the side or under of there eyes? Does it hurt? And no I don’t mean getting concealer tattoo I mean an actual tattoo.
It's funny how they say "dont drink and ink" but most reputable shops, as a rule, won't even tattoo you if you came in drunk. Which would most likely get you turned down and losing your deposit. Smdh.
this girls smiles too much
As freaking AWESOME as I think tattoos are I know I’m never going to get one because I’m to much of a baby when it comes to pain. And I suck at staying still
Does it really count as medical procedure?
It's bad enough to bring someone with you, but the worst is when they ask if their friend can hold their hand whilst they're getting tattooed, it's like no I don't want someone in my tattoo space I need to concentrate, and you're an adult getting a tattoo, not giving birth, you don't need someone holding your hand!
Sorry but all the ink I have I design myself. The tattoo artist had no problem tattooing them on me.
He looks like a young grissom from csi las vegas
Dude, love the old school Gundam wing wall scroll you have 💜
I know it’s disrespectful to ask the artist to copy other people’s stuff but what if it’s something a family member or friend drew or wrote is that still the same thing?
No if they drew it for you it's totally fine. But don't go stealing stuff from the internet
Thanks for the tips!
Wait I can’t get it the same as the picture I show them?…..
I’ve never been accompanied by another person. Only ever me and my artists.
Girl why cut him off ehen he was telling the story of the smelly feet that would've been super entertaining.
I always bring my one friend with me to my appointments, mostly to hold my hand lol
All the people saying shitty comments about his faded tattoos.. Need to watch him on best ink.. His work is amazing.
Yes, never come unprepared! Bring plenty of ink erasers!
i want to see more videos of you and romeo. he is a good artist and he seem so friendly. he havent posted any videos in a while so i wonder if he is doing ok.
He was grooming underage kids, that's why
#2-yeah, it's your art, but I'm the one that has to wear it on my skin for the rest of my life. I'm sure you're a super awesome artist, but there's enough terrible tattoos out there there that imma pay attention to what you're doing.
Have a tattoo appointment in a couple hours and I have not fucking slept. I am nocturnal sooo this is going to fucking suuuuck.
I like to watch but I don’t give commentary on anything unless asked I like the process
Great tips
Did a kid use a crayola on this dude?
Don’t nitpick... especially about a silly thing like age
What if the artist is rushed because of a busy day?
Sorry, it has to be perfect.
what way does ur gun or moting in coloring
I taking oxy’s to minimize the pain.
In my country they bring tattoo artist to parties
The reason customers Rush tattoo artist is the ones that charge insane amount of money per hour
Romeooo💚 he is the one that tattooed the doldan twins 😍
Rayenne Lundgren and it’ll look like crap in a few months
Im having a consultation next Tuesday, ive offered to draw it up bwforehand and let her change anything 😂
can we get injection trough tatoo???
Shit I got a full chest piece and was drinking the whole time cause my tat artist is cool af. It helped me.
The artist that did my side just wanted me to make sure I was sober when I said I wanted it, he let me smoke a little before I got it inked
So basically come in shut up sit down give the artist an idea of what u want. Pay them lots of money and then the artist will do it the way they want and u leave unhappy. What a joke
