- Toyota Hilux beach towing a custom built 17'ft x 7'ft KEDRON Caravan with a tare of 2585kgs.
Prior the leaving on the Maytown Adventure headed up the beach to test tow behind the Toyota Hilux in soft sand / creek crossing conditions etc to get a feel for the tow package before setting off on the trip up Cape York!

Thanks very much for the support as always mate! :)
Lovely Hilux and a caravan sirs
Thanks very much Efraem!!! Enjoy your weekend mate! 👍
What a beautiful site
Love hilux
Amazing its going off so effortlessly beautiful
The suspension really soaked up the ruts nice to see a set up that works in our country. Australia 🇦🇺
Cheers Steve! It sure did, and thanks for the note! They worked really well together! The van was on air bag suspension, certainly perfect for the beach travel! Thanks again mate!
I hope all your crockery is well stashed hahaha
Hi guys, great vid. What size van is that?
Mega super!!!
also where was the family and car stuff adding weight to the car
is this the auto or manual hilux? just curuios
Toyota No1
I thought that's what the vans for to sleep in if you are tired !!!
Now how's it tow when it has a load in it water and goods ???
Thanks for the note Craig! Did have water in the tanks, though not fully loaded with gear to travel, though to test, used the TopEnder as it's the heavier of the range of Kedron's, as usually would be an XC about 300kg's lighter, and wanted the van as close to the 3.2t towing capacity of the auto, where on the Maytown trip used the manual with the 3.5t. Thanks again for the note! Enjoy your day! Regards, Glen
Certainly a fantastic vehicle Salim! Thanks for the note!
it is not an awd it's 1 4wd
name one AWD that is better than a 4WD, minding that a 79 series is a 4WD
hello there , great video! thanks, some questions for you, whic is the hilux model?(2.4, 2.8?) and if it was modified in any form , maybe suspension to tow this caravan, thanks!!
He mentioned the rear suspension carried air bags, I have the same car with 50 mm lifting suspension and carrying 1.6 ton camping trailer and sometimes I feel like it hurts, maybe because I'm worrying too much, it's nice to see the vid where driving in soft sand looks so smooth logically skills and momentum are the key...
What is the weight of the caravan and size is it?
Monster of a van, a little to big for where we go. But damn, beautiful.
Thanks very much mate! Appreciate the note! Regards, Glen
Guys, what was the weight of the van and what pressures were you running in the van / hikux?
Hi Lee, thanks for the note mate! The weight of that van, loaded with water and some gear was just over 3t, and the tyres were at 18 psi. Thanks again!
GallBoys thanks guys.
@@GallBoys You must have been right on just legal GVM 6 tonne
How much does that van weigh?
Toyota is the best
Hey Glen it's John Cochrane here what speeds were you getting up to on the beach?
sector9films. 115kph mate
Hi John, hope things have been keeping well! Varied with the terrain and speed zones of course, from walking pace to 50 / 60 km's / hr mate!
Thanks for the note and catch up at the show!! Regards, Glen
Merhaba glen kullandığınız motosiklet hangi markaydı? Kedron karavanların arkasında veya ön tarafta off road motosiklet taşınabilinirmi?
Merhaba Apemeia, not için teşekkürler ve saygılar. Bazı gezilerde Yamaha WR250'yi kullanırdık ve on yıllar boyunca minibüslere birkaç bisiklet takmıştık, ancak daha yakın yıllarda ön kutu saklama, arka tampon vb.
Tekrar teşekkürler ve en iyisi!
Great rolling shots! I wish we can get the hilux in the states.
Why ? There's way better options .
Alex Frankl just to have one would be cool!
Thanks for the note mate! See you enjoy the 4WD'ing by your page too! Thanks again! Regards, Glen
@@alexfrankl7861 Such as ?
Entry step looking a little worse for wear @1:52
Thanks for the note mate and very true! They generally cop a bit of a beating! Have recessed up further since, though in extremes can stick get caught up a bit!
Thanks gains and enjoy your day! ☺️👍
I would like to see a Tacoma pull that!
Seen the Tacoma's when in the USA mate, never had the chance to drive one to see what they're like though!
Hope things have been keeping well!
Regards,
Glen
Where have you been I have missed you
Cheers mate!!! Will have to start posting clips a little more regularly! :) Thanks for the note!
was it loaded with two tonnes of camping stuff ie water tanks gas bottles loaded etc? yep fast speeds along the beach would be needed to get through the soft sand and anyway i would rip off the pull out awning just getting to the beach good vid but not representative of a true camper rig, have a look at my vids a true camping go anywhere truck
Nothing in that van would be in the location it was packed.....oh and frothy beer
Is it with the 2.8l D4D or the 2.4l D4D engine?
Thanks for the note! That was the 2.8l model Saifeddine! Enjoy your day! ☺️
Japanese machine.
I know a guy from perth. He was asking me why us americans need f250s and 350s to tow things. The stuff we tow is way bigger. If you put that little camper behind a new f250, not only would you not feel it, nor have it affect the mileage, but the ground clearance and sheer size difference would give the ability to go to more difficult to access places. Awesome rig though. Always wanted to ride a hilux diesel. The tacoma needs a diesel.
We don’t have those kind of roads here if people saw 250’s driving here they would be scared and piss there pants because the roads are so small, if you have a f 150 you are considered a maniac on the road because you have such a big truck. 😂crazy isn’t it
no problema and any stuck during promotions
Merhaba glen toyota hilux 'u kullanan abinin ismi nedir? Çok komik bir kişi, galboys videosunda babanız kızmıştı aracı ve karavanı çamura batırdığı için, abimize ve size selam türkiye den. Avusturalya 'ya kar yağıyor mu ?karda çektiğiniz hiç video görmedim.
Not için tekrar teşekkürler!
What does the trailer weigh
3t
Surprising as Hiluxes are gutless
I WANT TO JOINING YOU CARVAN
Thanks for the note Nadeem! Is a great way to travel! Thanks again!
You Aussies always call travel trailers "Caravans"?
Yep - pretty much called caravans around the rest of the world except the US
I spalanie 100 l./100km
Not a single item would be off the floor ....
What a shame though, that Toyota treat their customers like crap. Toyota have dropped the ball with customer service badly, especially since the GFC. Funny that.
Brian Sloth totally depends on your local dealer, some are great, some aren't
Xx
Nice video :)
I hear music, i thumbs down, I leave...... it's not 2007 stop putting loud music over 4WD vids.
I see ur lips moving but i dont understand the word coming out of your mouth
:) :) :) Classic!
Must be a motor powered trailer. New hilux is crap.
Why??
If you ring Kedron they’ll tell you differently mate they could make the movies with any other brand they would be on tow trucks everyday day
